      Fixed power prism. Frick LPVOs.

      Irons, sonny

Acog and iron backups. Perfect for the ranges AR15s are used in.

      None of these are LPVOs.

    PA PLX 1-8x30 Compact.

I would rather stick to a red dot, but I have astigmatism.

Just picked up a viper 2-10 FFP. Haven't taken it out yet, but I'm excited to see how it does with .308

Personally I just ordered an exps3 for NV capabilities. I'm currently researching magnifiers to see what might work best but I'm considering the G33 at the moment

EXPS 3-0 is fricking GOAT for NV. Nothing else compares, I think only the T2 even comes close to the clarity.
Just get the G33, don't cheap out on shit once you're halfway there. The glass is obscenely nice.

I really want a Sig Tango 6T but if they were half the price. $1600 for that is bonkers, even $800 is pushing it, but it's the only FFP LPVO I've liked.

FFP is such a meme. by the time holdovers actually become useful you're on maximum magnifcation anyway.

Heavy is true, but only if you never make use of more magnification. Vs 1-4 sure, 3x fixed prism, or even a flipmag and holo, makes lots of sense. At 1-8 or 1-10, no you're not gaining weight vs a high mag prism, those get quite heavy. But of course that kind of magnification is pretty pointless with 5.56. And conversely in other cases it'd be better to have more and a 1x without the tight eyebox, so mpvo combined with some dedicated. LPVOs are a niche, but they're useful in that one.

I have an NF ATACR, though it's not on an AR. And I got it for like half off. I do have that same mount though, same color too, geissele has been decent enough.

I've heard good things about the Vortexes for the price. But it'd help if you said budget and use scenarios, including range. LPVOs don't make sense IMO vs dot/prism + mag/mpvo except for specific use cases. It'd help to know if you already use and like one, since that's the first question. If not I'd go for a super cheap while still surprisingly ok thing like a Swampfox, because nicer ones don't change the relative strengths and weaknesses much. If you already know you like them though and want to go high end, I'd really recommend trying to go try a few in person. At the $1500-2k+ range you should be getting really picky about reticle and everything else and getting exactly what fits you and your gun.

I preorderd the Primary Arms 1-6 ACSS Nova scope. It's an SLX line which is kinda meh, I wish it was at least their GLX line but either way everyone who has actually gotten their hands on it says it compares to the Vortex Viper PST 1-6 which itself is a pretty nice optic for the price. I'm hoping it doesn't suck, if it does I'll probably just sell it and get something much nicer.

I got a US Optics 1-8 power FFP, with mildot reticle. I like to be able to hold and correct in mils. It's illuminated reticle, but I usually don't use 1x as the reticle becomes quite small. 2x is fine and still allows for quick target acquisition. At 2x you don't need the illumination as the eye quickly picks it up. I prefer 1-8 for 18"+ AR platform for ranges out to 800 meters. It's a good all around compromise for me, using LVPOs. Not sure why people love magnified red dots and fixed lower powered optics so much. To each their own I guess

Holosun 510c + 3x magnifier. I'd like to try an ACOG with a piggybacked red dot, but that's not in the budget right now

At one point all my rifles had lpvos, now a few have dots and the only lpvo I have is the nx8. I like it because on 1x it's like a T2 with a bigger dot, but not a fan of illum while zoomed in so the black segmented donut is still nice and fast. Extremely clear depending on how it's set up, but loses a little crispness on one end or the other, that's just the drawback of fixed parallax. Tried a lot of different lpvos both ffp/sfp, for me it's been the best. Only 17 ounces, small, durable, battery life is great for being as bright as it is, and its just overkill on the brightest settings.
As for other FFP ones I've tried, the razor 3 was okay for the $1800 I got it for at the time, but current prices, nah. Glass wasn't the best, my zoom was smooth but too easy to spin, and it just felt too bulky for an AR. Sure it's a straight tube lpvo, it just subtly passed this threshold for me. Another thing is it was an earlier one, at some point I think vortex raised the parallax on them to 150 meters or something. Also the BDC reticle one is dumb because it's just setup for something like a 68gr from an 18" barrel. The transparency of the reticle was insanely nice however. I'd probably get another one to try again but it'd have to be an insane deal.
Also had an accupower 1-8. It actually had phenomenal glass and a great eyebox, but I think I actually sold it to get the razor. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing scope, with the big honking turrets and then the chode battery compartment sticking out, but its glass makes it punch above its price. The illumination also sucks but the big circle reticle is well designed for 1x use without illum.

Credo 1-6x, on a 14.5" it seems about right. It's basic but solid, which is really all I was looking for.
