>letting someone else clean your kit
I also love in Florida, and don't wear my kit while hiking because I don't have any good hiking trails within like fifty miles of me, and wouldn't be able to carry my guns anyway.
I went to college in Florida and the hiking in general fricking sucks unless you really like endless flat sandy plains of saw palmettos too tall to see over and eternal swamp ass. The springs are pretty nice though.
So true.
I still hike and camp in Florida though because being outside anywhere is better than being inside and I like the exercise.
I have a cheap as frick camping set up because I can usually only go once or twice a year when it’s actually cool enough.
Not kit per se, but with a rifle, yes. Hiking without one now seems like a walk without a purpose. At least take a camera.
>eternal swamp ass
Boxers only here unless you like jock itch.
yes I know that but the general concensus is open carrying a rifle in FL will get the cops called on you because people don't understand it's legal. I've had to talk to an FWC cop and a deputy on two separate occasions about it, with the deputy insisting I was committing a crime until I got the FWC on the phone
True. I pest hunt swamps around S FL w. scoped air rifle. I can safely predict if I'm there more than an hour I'll have either local police (city or county), or state or federal wildlife show up. It's never been a real issue and they're always very friendly.
I don't carry a sidearm, though you're allowed to open carry while hunting or fishing.
You can open carry in Florida while camping or fishing. Some cops and districts feel like that depends on how many trees are nearby, and will presume to supercede the law with "Yea, but there's a road fifty yards away. So it obviously doesn't count." though.

No. If I was to LARP like that I'd LARP like amateur radio enthusiasts do. They made a competition out of hiking to remote locations with radio gear and trying to establish communications there, which sounds much more enjoyable than patrolling public trails with dead weight you'll never use there.
Sounds fun. Are there any other military LARP objectives one can introduce into PrepHole activities rather than just patrolling for enemies that will never be there?
Basic recon stuff
Hell, you could get really into it if you had a small group and some decent national forestland/ logging land/ etc
High, clear promontory is the FOB or whatever. Have a "commander" up there with maps and a radio, relaying objectives to team(s) out in the surrounding mountains. >trail watch >general recon >photography >patrol >set up (mock) ambush >find LZs >rendevous with other team >climb tall point and check in on radio >establish patrol base/ LP-OP
If you had somebody else to do it, they could go ahead of you and place targets you could actually engage along your route
what I like to do is go to campsites at night using my nods and just sneak by people without them having any idea I was there. it's even more fun when you see headlights illuminating through 100 yards of trees and you bounce off the trail all sneaky beaky like.
Summits On the Air (SOTA) is probably what that anon is talking about. People who do it carry HF rigs rather than radios like the Baofengs you see people carrying here, so they're working with setting up antennas tens of feet in length and carrying either small radios only capable of morse code or manpack rigs if they want to do voice.
No seems kinda cringe and attention seeking to do that in public. Saw this chubby nerd waddle-jogging the local park in a plate carrier the other day, he looked like total shit. There's also a Nasty Girl at my gym who works out in his. He's always broing out with sheepdawgs in their Grunt Style shirts who can't do one pull-up. Everything is so gay.
However, I DO want to do some PT and drills in my kit whenever I can. Larping is so fun on private land. Sadly none of my gun friends feeling like getting sweaty and gross in their kits.
Thinking about starting a penance ruck with some guys at church. Not /k/ per se but it would be a good chance to ruck in my kit with some other guys while carrying a statue and work on my PrepHoleness and praying.
>Go on hiking trip with class >Go far out from the university but still near the highway to get to some rock formations >We're going back to our cars and it's a little late >Spot some guy on a ridge >Silhouetted by the sunset >We wave at it >Classmate was in the army for a couple years and spots him too >Notice he has a long object in his hand and brings it up like an aiming motion >Puts it down to his side and waves back at us >Army guy is pretty sure we all got just got flagged by some moron with a scoped rifle
Pack some $19.99 binocs for fricks sake
If I saw these gays on a trail or at a site I would definitely consider shooting them in the back. Put your homosexual ar and larp equipment away and enjoy nature.
I bring a rifle if I'm going off trail/camping because I don't wanna get raped by a bear or druggies. If I'm just walking up a trail to see my local pretty views I might be CC'ing but dressing up in full kit to go up a trail is fricking cringe
me and one of my bros went hiking in our plate carriers once with our ars and a guy came riding by on a horse and called us homosexuals. havent done it since
Yes because it’s both fun and makes you better. Plus it’s a great way to test gear set ups for something that matters. Moving. It’ll be almost all of what you do in a real situation
I wanted to but I was always afraid the game warden would think I was poaching or some shit.
I'm in Texas so no BLM land so you have to deal with all the regulations and shit if you're on a national grassland or a national forest. I looked fricking everywhere for anything that said you can't carry a rifle, but never did, but did find stuff specifically saying you can carry a pistol. Doesn't help that everything about weapons usually is talking about hunting.
Call me autistic but I really didn't want to call the ranger's desk up to ask if carrying rifles without the intent to hunt was legal or not.
No. I live in Florida and I don't want to have to take my kit to the cleaners again. They're whiny fricks
>letting someone else clean your kit

Just got to get out of the cities. Everyone chose to live where there's no hills.
I will note that, at best, florida merely has hills. But that's better than walking along a "shore".
Florida doesn't even have hills.
I wish.
So true.
I still hike and camp in Florida though because being outside anywhere is better than being inside and I like the exercise.

Let me tell you, never go into springs. It's fun for the first 8 minutes then you start sinking in water hotter than Satan's cum.
where do you open carry in florida? or do you just hike wearing full kit sans rifle?
You can open carry in Florida while camping or fishing. Some cops and districts feel like that depends on how many trees are nearby, and will presume to supercede the law with "Yea, but there's a road fifty yards away. So it obviously doesn't count." though.

The obvious solution is to finally pass constitutional carry.
Never ever Desantis is a israelite
desantis has plainly said he intends on passing open carry through executive order. likely saving it for election time
>politician promises X
I would be super happy if he did, but I doubt he will
google florida constitutional carry. he's actively working on it. the wheels of government turn very slowly though
He has explicitly said that it will happen before he leaves office.
Just wish he'd actually do it.
No I'm only mildly autistic.
literal unironic larp
and?
No. If I was to LARP like that I'd LARP like amateur radio enthusiasts do. They made a competition out of hiking to remote locations with radio gear and trying to establish communications there, which sounds much more enjoyable than patrolling public trails with dead weight you'll never use there.
This, it just makes hiking an overall worse experience and the only non-moronic explanation would be training.
The frick's this moronic shit about killing each other kings and queens? Did Black folk start this trend?
Sounds fun. Are there any other military LARP objectives one can introduce into PrepHole activities rather than just patrolling for enemies that will never be there?

Just go off trail, mong
Once I move back to the hills I’m going to, but only at night with NODs because I don’t feel like telegraphing to the world that I’m geared
