Farmers can’t afford to grow crops because diesel prices are so high.

Americans either will simply starve this fall because there are food shortages or there will be riots that will shake the very foundations of democracy. I fear Jan 6 was simply a prelude of what is to come. There will be bloodshed.

What I’m America seems very unlikely they’ll probably be a few cuckservative boomers seething and sharting on twitter and goybook. And nobody will do anything. The only people who have a licence to do anything are Black folk when israelites decide to let them off the leash periodically.

I drive from western Alberta to eastern SK every two weeks for work and I can confirm that there are fields that are being left unplanted this year. It's not the majority of fields, but it is quite noticeable.

I think the travel mandates are going to be challenged in court this September. That homosexual Trudeau will repeal them right before it's clear they're going to take a loss. I think Castreau is waiting for monkey pox to blow up or something to finish strangling the life out of this country with more lockdowns etc.

The justice system has seemed to regain some margin of sanity for the time being but during the height of the lockdowns, the courts straight up didn't give a frick about being corrupt clown shows.

      They may be summer fallow.
Even when rotating crops year to year you may need to give them a rest the odd growing season.
It is rare to see tho.

        >They may be summer fallow.
        Checked.

You could be right, but I've never seen the land I drive along left unplanted and I've been doing this commute for nearly a decade now. I thought the use of fertilizers let them work the land to death every year.

June 8th was the due date to have crops in for crop insurance. I know one of my buddies who is a farmer was talking about the astronomical price of planting the fields he has. IDK who is going to be able to afford to buy these crops.

          Anonymous

if they can afford $300,000 tractors, they can afford fertilizer. if they're not growing shit, then they're planning to get gibs and don't need a crop

farmers are mostly just welfare queens, most of what they do is subsidized by teh government and protected by shit they vote against. no group of white americans utilize socialism more than white farmers

Black folk get all that AND there's a Black person-only farmer's fund they all get a percentage of every year

            >if they can afford $300,000 tractors
The newer equipment costs more than that
            >they can afford fertilizer
The cost of fertilizer tripled this spring because of global shortages, for those who could get it at all. One of the major US plants is down due to severe hurricane damage. Europe shut down most of their plants when the price of NG went up 400% last year. Russia, one of the largest exporters, embargoed sales to ensure their own supply. Other countries are doing the same.

              No we did not.
The UN need to come up with 10 billion so the poor can buy the now very expensive fertilizer.
              >DAVOS, Switzerland, May 26 (Reuters) - Norwegian fertiliser giant Yara says donors urgently need to close the U.N.'s $10 billion food programme funding gap to avoid a catastrophe as sanctions on Russian fertilisers and Ukraine's grain export problems have created an extreme global shock.

Why not plant clover, as even the medieval peasants knew that fertilized the fields, even if the did not know about nitrogen fixating symbiosis?

No idea Anons. But one thing to remember is that farms in Canada are typically waaaaaay bigger than the ones in the US. It's quite possible they couldn't get their crops planted in time for insurance because of bad weather etc. and they didn't' want to risk the investment for uninsurable crops considering the cost. Last year, drought and hail killed a lot of crops in SK.

When I get back to work I'll definitely be asking because I work as a travel nurse in a rural community and all my coworkers are related to farming in one way or another.

I know one farmer near where I work was doing something different in regards to fertilizer compared to previous years because of the cost associated. The lady explaining didn't fully understand but told me that the increased cost this year of planting was definitely having an impact on how things were being done.

With 80%+ of the population being farmers, with almost all food being sold within local markets, with people knowing how to preserve food for out of season use, with heirloom varieties of crops and livestock that could grow on marginal pand with out pesticides, irrigation, fertilizer etc, with food being a lot more expensive than it is now (in terms of hours worked to buy food) and of course with a much much lower population than we have now. If anything goes wrong we are capital F Fricked.

The collapse is either a) not coming or b) you can't stop it and hording goods won't really help you.

I see this preppers all the time, just complete wastes of time and money. One dude was trying to find the best tourniquet for an apocalypse scenario. WTF you going to do with a tourniquet in the apocalypse???

Christ tells us to not worry about our needs or the future. PREPPING IS ANTI-CHRISTIAN UNLESS YOU HAVRE HAD A REVELATION FROM GOD.

      Anonymous

Agreed. Prepping is useless. A nuclear war is about the only thing that might collapse society. Even then I have my doubts. A bunker could help for fallout, but that's about it, and you'd need it 2 weeks max. Being self sufficient and off the grid is the only thing worth striving for in a society collapse scenario. Storing a bunch of store bought stuff will eventually run out and is pretty pointless.

      >Christ tells us to not worry about our needs or the future. PREPPING IS ANTI-CHRISTIAN UNLESS YOU HAVRE HAD A REVELATION FROM GOD.

IDK Anon, Christ told the apostles to sell their cloaks and buy a sword if they had to. God respects our free will and that of others, even to the detriment of our own health and safety. Our souls are saved from hell, but our bodies aren't necessarily saved from hardship.

I believe Isaiah is the one who said that God refines us in the furnace of affliction.

Being prudent and preparing for hard times isn't anti-Christian IMO. Feel free to disagree. Joseph was warned of 7 prosperous years and then 7 years of harsh famine. It's looking like the tribulation is looming on the near horizon here, and I believe the church won't be here for it, but that doesn't mean things won't get bad before then. If anything, we can clearly see each day is worse than the day before.
