So what the fuck are these things supposed to do? Are they big shotguns? Are they primitive hand-cannons? I am unclear on the purpose of such ludicrously large smoothbores.

Word meanings change over thousands of years and "republic" and "democracy" do in fact have different definitions in American English, which is the common language of this website.

Industrialization is responsible for prosperity, retard. The system of government does not matter. Pre-WW2 Nazi germany had a better standard of living than the 1st or 2nd Reich. Why? Industrialization. The ROC and PRC are also materially much better off than they were before they industrialized. Industrialization is very difficult, if not impossible, under a democracy. In fact, Japan was pretty much never a democracy. The idea that you can simply vote yourself into being materially and financially better off is ludicrous. It takes mass co-ordination, scale, political and social control, the right conditions, an educated populace, and many other factors, many of which democracy is ill-suited to provide.

Resoundingly false. This has been quantified for decades. Liberal, representative, more-democratic states are wealthier more productive and have higher quality-of-life metrics than authoritarian, non-representative, less-democratically states. China would be the canonical modern example, it's prosperity is directly tied to its widespread liberalization.
