Remove the unit, lock ring, and drain. Replace with normal drain and plumb to fit.

This 18 minute video is pretty good. I did this in my last house because it was on a septic and my wife wouldn't stop throwing shit down the drain.

see how the white pvc is connected to the basin on the right? do that again for the left, and connect it with a 90-degree to the existing pipe.

Thank you. Easier than I thought. Garbage disposal is going to stink bad once it’s removed

Make sure if you have a dishwasher you get a piece of pvc that has the fitting that was on your garbage disposal.

Well you don't have adishwasher then.

If you had a working dishwasher and wanted to continue using it, you'd need a hole in your drain for the dishwasher to drain into...

Pour some enzyme cleaner down the drain before you remove it, and leave it alone for 24 hours after you do so. Pour nothing down the sink during that time.

Frugal tip: If the disposal still works, sell it online. Waste not want not.

Never once, in my 20 years doing this kind of work have I ever heard something so stupid pertaining to food waste disposals.
