Expectation, Reality

Expectation:
>MAJOR RUSSIAN WITHDRAWAL DUE TO HUGE UKRAINIAN COUNTER OFFENSIVE “BLITZ”!

Reality:
>350 dead Russian soldiers and roughly a single company worth of IFVs have been destroyed

Sounds a little short compared to the entire Corps+ size force of Russian reinforcements made up of former training battalions don’t you think? Now of course the real take is to let this shit play out over the next few days and see what the Russians do, whether they continue to lose ground in large takes per day or if the Russians counter attack in a very planned way. This is /k/ however so I expect nothing but shitty wojak posting with no actual discussion whatsoever.

            Not the same guy you were talking to originally, just found it weird that people over the age of 16 would still do the "hahaha I might be a crossboard shitposter, but how are you gonna MAKE me leave huh, gotcha xD" shtick, it's the equivalent of shitting your pants in public transport. But hey like I said, you'll feel right at home.

    If you're using that as a source, then you're also agreeing with the other statistics in your own link:

    Total Russian war losses were reported as follows:

    Troops: 52,250 (+350);

    Tanks: 2,136 (+14);

    APCs and IFVs: 4,584 (+9);

    Barreled artillery: 1,259 (+22);

    Multiple launch rocket systems: 311 (+5);

    Anti-air defense systems: 162 (+3);

    Fixed-wing aircraft: 239 (+0);

    Helicopters: 212 (+1);

    UAVs: 898 (+10);

    Cruise missiles: 215 (+1);

    Ships and boats: 15 (+0);

    Supply and fuel trucks: 3,426 (+27);

    Specialized military equipment: 114 (+2).

    In which case, the Russians should be withdrawing to Moscow.

        He's getting paid by being able to channel negative vatnik emotions into sustenance through a Turko-Nederlander ritual.

    War is over, everybody is already on their way home. Russia has surrendered and is going to pay for the rebuilding of Ukraine. All the dead have risen, too.

    You are not retreating that quickly without leaving some stuff behind.
    Russia avoided worst case scenario of having Izyum cutoff, surrounded and annihilated, but this is still bad.

    Ok I dont know how many russian got killed or any of that, but what is the point attacking a country for months making minimal gains, and then losing that in days? Makes the previous slow drag kind of pointless, even if no russian died, you just have to start the whole thing again.
    That must suck

    the real question is, will you come back to report after these few days passes in russian shit getting kicked even deeper in their ass, or you will disappear and pretend to never made that thread?

  21. 2 years ago

    The one thing I will give you is most of the Russians aren't waiting to die, they're fleeing (and leaving all their equipment behind).
    Now let's see how many stop fleeing when they reach "friendly" territory lmao

    It's only a couple of guys that frick up every thread. They're annoying but you can talk around them.

    In the meantime, there's no doubt the Yukes have had a remarkable breakthrough north of Izyum, but it looks like the Ruskies did the smart thing and pulled out rather than let themselves get cut off.

      Oh yeah, abandoning Kupyansk was totally a smart move, those clever Russians dropping their main center of logistics in the country.
      Truly cunning creatures, these kacaps. They're going to go far!

    >Enemy was routed so fast they left most of their equipment behind
    >Over 3 months worth of territorial gains lost in a day
    The loss of manpower may have been minimal but they did still lose a massive amount of ground and gear.
    Pulling out of a position where you have far less support as the enemy begins to rapidly push was the right call, but it was executed horribly.
    There's a big difference between a tactical retreat and a hasty rout, and the latter can cost as much as a Pyrrhic victory.
    The question now is how much this rout has cost the Russians, and if they'll still have the supplies for a counter offensive before the Ukrainians can dig in and fortify their gains.
    The outlook for the Russians however, is rather grim all things considered.

    It looks like Russia took minimal casualties and Ukraine took monstrous losses. But that just shows the problem with Russian strategy: they don't have enough men so they have to be casualty averse, causing them to lose ground against Ukrainians, who have huge reserves of conscripts. If it keeps up, they won't have enough territory left to launch future offensives

      What's the evidence that ukraine took heavy losses? Legitimately asking

      • 2 years ago
        Anonymous

        There isn't any. Kyiv isn't releasing any official numbers and Russians can't count to 10 without lying or running away, so there are not going to be any accurate numbers on losses until the end of the war.
