sup /k/. how realistic is EFT in terms of ammunition, armor, ballistics and its damage model? I think the game does a really good job of immersing you with its movement, aiming, item and loot mechanics and those elements all feel pretty realistic. Ammo types seem to be a big balancing point, however, so was wondering how gamey that is or isn't.
K hates the game, but in reality its pretty great if you can get past the moronic recoil system, they will probably make it good, there's a lot of pressure. The fact that you can match with anyone of any skill and any level with any gear makes it very cool.
>there's a lot of pressure
Most of the pressure is coming from the casuals who wants to punish good players and prop up the shitters.
Come on mate, I like this game but you can't not mention how fricking awful the quest system is
Black personkita is a worthless, lazy, stupid, VatBlack person. Cannot fix game, cannot stop lying. And frick Hohols before the cope squad shows up.
it used to be realistic, but it went to shit a while back.
A lot of the features in the game are quite realistic. Things like the sounds, models, medical equipment, optics, malfunctions and manual of arms, selection of weapons, even shit like the lighting and ballistics. The only thing about the game I don’t like is how many shots a player can tank, which was done obviously to make the game more playable.
>medical equipment
lol, pop some opiates and sprint around for the next 20 minutes on broken legs
I'd say it does a good job of having realistic manual of arms with non autistic gameplay, which most milsim games struggle to do. other than that no.
>how many shots a player can tank
do you mean shots to armor or shots to flesh?
>In general, body armor is more effective irl than in tarkov, helmets are less effective, and wounds are more consequential
do you mean helmets and wounds are less effective in game or IRL?
also yeah i kinda dislike how effective gun mods are, like its a grip not a pneumatic recoil piston guys cmon
you can play offline, you dont get to keep loot xp or progress made, but you can go fight bots and stuff. can even customize if there are bosses or how many bots there are. if you have the expensive edition u can coop bot matches too
>I'd say it does a good job of having realistic manual of arms with non autistic gameplay
yea would definitely agree with the inflated weapon differences
do you mean weapon descriptions?
Havent played it, just seen some gameplay and gear testing to see if i might like it.
Bodyarmor seems interesting but moronic. Class 2 vest stoping 762x39 an 556 hollowpoints
But a certain 308 zipping through class 6 armor (NIJ GOST And Tarkov armors are prolly different but still, nij lvl 4 is rated for 30 06 AP- slightly more power then 308)
Some Helmets stopping some 308 ammo
Deltoid protector being same category of armor as the body armor part and damage to 1 is damage to other
Customization of loadout, sound, light design seem cool
>Things like the sounds
Black person I can hear a guy eating crackers from a bunker underground while im standing above ground, you can hear someone switch the selector on their rifle from fricking mile away.
Right now bunkers are broke as frick. you can't hear anything outside of them when inside. Which would be fine for distance. but even at the entrance you don't hear anything even if your bud is dying right outside.
It's kind of realistic but it's a game and not a milsim. In general, body armor is more effective irl than in tarkov, helmets are less effective, and wounds are more consequential. You also can't just slap some attachments onto small arms and decrease recoil by 80%
>body armor is more effective irl than in tarkov
lmao, you can shoot 30 bullets of none AP 5.56 ammunition on high tier armor without removing a single health point to the target.
I don't play the game, but I once saw a video of someone empting and entire AK mag (don't remember what kind of AK it was) on a dude's helmet at point blank and the guy getting shot was completely fine.
So at least in terms of helmets, it doesn't seem to be very accurate.
That's probably desynch, the servers are on fire half the time. I mean, the helmets are definitely OP relative to reality, but usually stuff like that is just servers shitting themselves. I suppose if it was the worst rifle ammo vs best helmet it could happen, but a full mag would degrade the helmet and cause sufficient blunt damage yo kill regardless.
SPT AKI
I think its more they just want everyone to frick off after paying them because servers aren't free but legacy players don't pay anything after initial sale. Getting a beta container can be done early wipe and isn't really that bad vs the paid gamma. Alpha is rough, but so is all lvl1-14 gameplay.
I think the devs stated they did on purpose to make helmets a thing players would use.
I wish they had a singleplayer mode. My old hands can't compete with that adhd zoomer shit.
There is a single player mod look up SPT AKI
it fixes most things about the game tbh
Shit game made by moronic russians
Don't waste your time and money on this
The devs think an ak has you looking at the sky after shooting 10 rounds in full auto
Unironically instead of making your gun walk sky high they should just add spread for longer sprays kinda like CSGO, especially on guns with iron sights since your sight alignment will be shit while firing rapidly. It would probably mimic real life shooting better that way anyway.
Guns don't paint T's on walls IRL
The whole point is that your character is a PMC, a professional and he handles an AK as well as a toddler
But if you add just the right attachments you can laser beam someone 50 yards away from the hip
Maybe in 2017 but not anytime recent
>t. weakling that can't handle a gun
It would better simulate your character not being a perfect firing platform especially from a stand still. Spraying full auto and your shots lasering directly at your front sight post is straight out of call of duty lmao
its neat but the devs suck and make their money by creating RNG-based grind for secure cases, pressuring you to buy the 120 dollar edition of the game.
MW22's DMZ mode is free and generally more fun.
Having never played it but having read about it, Tarkov makes some ammo types common that are only really available to collectors who are buying small amounts with no intent to shoot in real life, such as M993/M995.
Also, for FPSes in general:
>any game with a significant amount of guns of the same type (ie assault rifles) or accessories will blow the differences between them way out of proportion to the point where players can notice the difference in performance just by using them rather than needing measurement equipment (such as paper targets and a ruler for measuring groups, or a shot timer to measure the hundredths of a second you're shaving off the per shot during drills)
>FPSes in general have tons of balancing concerns that go into the design process for close quarters parts of maps to keep them actually enjoyable and balanced rather than just being a slog that mostly comes down to luck
M995 was common on mg belts for the m249 on some vehicles. Just because ammo isn’t available to civilians doesn’t mean it is unavailable. There are way worse things to nitpick than this.
The sound is horrible
You could scav online just to get cool shit for offline, really not an excuse. You could use the Xmas gift too.
>sound is horrible
The samples are phenomenal, the engine they run on is trash.
The samples are good, but the sound as I’m using it to locate enemy’s are gunshots is horrible. When you hear something, it’s only left or right. No other axis. You cant tell if something is above or below, forward or behind. What’s the point of a crispy svd crack?
>The samples are phenomenal
AHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAAAA
>walk indoors
>CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH
>walk on some solid metal things
>BANG BANG BANG
>walk on a laminated floor
>STOMP STOMP STOMP
Gun sounds are trash too, delusional and you should have a nice day
>Just because ammo isn’t available to civilians doesn’t mean it is unavailable. There are way worse things to nitpick than this.
If is hard to even find on the civilian market where people buy and sell shit on country wide auction site like Gunbroker, then it isn't going to be available in significant enough quantities to support actual use by people in a more limited situation like Tarkov portrays.
Usec wouldn’t be confined to the same market as civilians. How do they get grenade launchers and itar restricted gear in Tarkov?
>t. Former triple canopy contractor
>and itar restricted gear in Tarkov
Realistically, that would be heavily restricted. The higher end, cool ITAR restricted shit is from defense contractors who have close ties to the US/NATO, which aren't going to want that gear to be potentially laundered by PMCs. If you actually look at who manufactures it, even supplies of stuff as seemingly simple as modern ammo/smokeless powder from western countries could quickly be dialed back to the extreme if the US/NATO didn't approve of it (considering every manufacturer of smokeless powder in the west is either government owned, or owned by a big name defense contractor).
>and what you find laying around in war zones.
Except what ends up in war zones is still restricted by laws in areas that aren't war zones.
>requires personal crafting
Which is more unrealistic bullshit. You aren't just casting your own tungsten carbide core bullets, and no, simple tungsten rods off aliexpress are not equivalent to tungsten carbide.
Imagine being this autistic about munitions realism in a video game. Nobody wants to play your ideal game, whatever that is. Go join the army.
>hurr autistic
OP is asking if it's realistic, I'm simply giving an explanation as to why it isn't (and why video games in general aren't). Some of my other views on "realistic" FPSes in general and how even the CQB that people want in games will never actually realistic because it wouldn't be fun if it was are posted here:
.
Everything would be much more comfy on this board if people would simply acknowledge the difference between reality and fantasy, rather than screeching because they ceased to be able to tell their personal fantasies from reality. There's nothing wrong with discussing fantasy while acknowledging that it's fantasy.
USECs are basically what Russia believes westerners in Ukraine military are - the most special of special forces, the most operator operators, with full backing of NATO and access to boogeyman dark science.
BEAR are the "good guy" Russian Wagner expies.
There's a reason why Terra Group (which is basically NATO illuminati shadow government corporate proxy) secrets leaking from Tarkov leads to (first conventional, eventually nuclear) World War 3 and collapse of society further on in the Russia 2028 timeline.
Where can one read more about this time line? I am aware of contract wars, is there more in the franchise?
russia 2028 is the game bsg wants to make after they finish eft lmao, it's a singleplayer post apocalyptic fps rpg-ish game (essentially a stalker clone)
the only reason they made eft in the first place was to raise money for developing russia 2028
Contract Wars are about the war in Tarkov, there's Hired Ops which takes place about concurrently with Tarkov and is about a more global PMC war between USEC and BEAR, there's Tarkov and then there's the two or three Tarkov e-books you can buy off their merch store (you even get some guns and other gear in-game, including GPNVGs, as "gifts" for buying them, this is what BSG does instead of direct micro-transactions).
Can't actually really say if the WW3 part is true, especially nuclear war, because the lore hasn't went that far yet, but considering that Russia 2028, which, as someone else pointed out is a planned sequel to Tarkov, takes place during a total collapse of society event (most probably nuclear war), it's safe to assume that's the end goal of current lore stuff.
>There's a reason why Terra Group (which is basically NATO illuminati shadow government corporate proxy) secrets leaking from Tarkov
is it super secret weapon meant for targeting slavs by any chance?
Tarkov lore is basically russian propaganda in a nutshell
>Tarkov lore is basically russian propaganda in a nutshell
It is. BSG doesn't like to talk about it openly in the west on the account of west being their main source of income but Tarkov and the whole surrounding lore is very much into the whole "silovniki" propaganda bullshit.
I really feel like Tarkov is an empty shell lore wise.
Like there is tons of UNTAR, terragroup or military vehicles on maps but you're just one guy grinding loot for money and looting GPUs to mine BTC, not caring about anything else.
I don't think it's intended as propaganda, it's just the sum of all russian fears just like MW2 was for the americans (durr russian ultranationalists teleport to washington vs muh western biolabs and mercenaries performing human experiments). russia got domed in that game and all russians are corrupt alcs (prapor), schizophrenics (mechanic) or dementia patients (jaeger)
Corrupt Prapor is also heavily leaning into friendly uncle praporshchik role by giving your shit for free and being generally cool. I don't think him being corrupt really registers properly with Russians considering that for them that's just how you do things.
Mechanic is an autist schizo prepper (but if he's right about everything, is he actually a schizo?) but also casually makes advanced neural networks and possibly true AI in his cave, with a box of scraps.
Jaeger is just an old guy who believes in doing morally right things but is also weirdly competent in combat.
Ragman, who isn't Russian but Armenian just cares about money.
Even Skier, being the most jail culture outright bandit, is a lot into the whole honor amongst thieves thing.
Peacekeeper however is just moustache twirling evil pshek out to steal secrets of making a GAZ Tigr and such. He also literally hires out the player to pretend that UN is keeping peace in the region (while he actually has a hand in drug trade) and is delivering humanitarian aid (while the trucks actually carry weapons for USECs).
The PC is supposed to be lost in Tarkov (you're supposed to escape, right ?), and cut from supply lines. Finding various full auto guns, AP ammo and NVG/thermals in the hands of scavs and merchants isn't unreasonable, since everything has been scavenged from dead bodies or supply crates. And all the rest is easily accessible for civilians.
It reminds me of an Ukrainian woman living in western Europe who bought about 10 thermal hunting scopes in my LGS to send them to the front. When there's war, people always find more or less legal ways to smuggle shit, don't worry.
there's a difference between what you can get in a peaceful country with import restrictions and enforced gun laws and what you find laying around in war zones.
I don't really agree with that guy but the sounds are good in that they convey the information they should from a gameplay perspective. I should be able to guestimate where in the map someone is by the sound of the material they are walking on.
I should be able to crouch-walk on a metal floor without "CLANK CLANK CLANK CLANK".
This happens even if you scroll-wheel your moevment down to the slowest possible setting. Not realistic, and very dumb when you die because of it.
There's a chance thats a bug or something, idk maybe they changed it. All I know is that you used to be able to crouch walk without making sound in the past.
>its a bug
Its been like this for a few wipes though, and the New Sound Engine didn't fix it, so it appears to now be as-intended.
I have mixed sentiments.
Yeah no I agree, its probably my biggest gripe. Since I always play solo, and making no sound is so important when squads are around you. These days you pretty much just either have to stand still or run and pray to god.
>Its been like this for a few wipes though
>a few wipes
You mean since literally 2017, right?
The footstep noises have been the same trash forever
The inability to have low volume footsteps. It was a possibility after Reserve but they fricked it sometime around covid and now its locked in like the bad recoil.
Good
No balls frickers like you being all scary crawling around and camping corners deserve to eat shit
Get rekt frickface. My stash is filled with gay metakits taken from elephant step CoD players, never gets old.
gb2r
Lmao you are the biggest moronic little wanna be twitch streamer homosexual
the nerve of some moron running meta shit sprinting around abusing netcode rather than having to think about how to win a firefight telling anyone to "gb2r" is fricking transcendentally ironic
t. 4800 hours of playtime in tark before I uninstalled and quit permanently after the game received chinese localization.
t. little lvl 46 mosin man sitting in a dark corner on reserve drinking söylent and soiling his diaper waiting a whole hour to get a whole +200K worth of damaged gear because he's afraid of some scavs and a lvl 13 PMC with an ak
A lot of this ammo is also hard to find in tarkov or requires personal crafting (reloading and casting) to acquire. You don't play the game.
Yeah, for all its flaws, I'm playing it instead of BFxxxx Arma Squad or Insurgency now.
Agreed, but people who haven't played it before needed that clarification because the samples are exceptional, save some footstep sounds as
mentions, though he's smoking crack if he's hating on actual gun sounds, and as
says at least footstep sounds succeed in giving you location info well.
Its a game where you can apply a tourniquet to your chest.
The armor is all 100% coverage of given body parts.
The helmets actually stop rifle rounds
Face shields can block rifle rounds even.
The health system is straight up magical, just they called their magic potions things like "surgery kit" so it looks realistic.
The recoil is atrocious, and no, they will never make it decent.
In sum, it is an MMORPG with gear and character leveling, and most of the balance is for the sake of that system, not realism or playability. There's lots of nonsense, like turning an ir gun laser on (without nods) will give you better hip fire...
A bunch of attachments are not going to take a spraycan Ak74U and turn it into a recoilless laser. The weapon modding is all extremely overwrought to tie into the RPG system.
Yes, armor piercing ammo exists IRL and there are tiers of armors and ammos. I lack the statistical background to say how accurate the game is, just I'll note that again all of this is part of their RPG plan and is likely only going to dimly reflect reality.
Its a fun game, but it only had the veneer of realism. While most games alter that veneer for the sake of fun, tarkov alters it for the sake of RPG mechanics and grind.
>Wear level 4 body armor
>Get shot with 10 bullets of 5.45
>Smear Vaseline on chest, Continue fighting as normal
Why don't all militaries do this?
too much realism sucks. go back to playing Misery and pretending you're having fun.
>autism
OP asked about realism and I responded in that vein.
I don't want Misery either and would prefer this game was less grindy. Especially recoil needs a good nerf. The med system is fine, the armor/ammo system is a good balance. That's my personal play opinion. I only really want harder scavs back, that week was actually fun pve that shitters whined away.
Isn’t there some silly fragmentation chance mechanic in Tarkov that increases damage along with a “normal” damage number?
Yeah that’s not how that really works. Stuff like M855A1 fragments consistently and predictably above a certain velocity - its normal “wound profile” INCLUDES fragmentation. It is the overwhelming minority of shots where it doesn’t, and in these cases the terminal performance is pretty garbage.
Now many 5.45 rounds irl do have a very low chance of fragmentation, meaning they basically start at 0 fragmentation to begin with.
Most Level 4 armor stops multiple 5.45 rounds with ease, with minimal BFD. You would have to land bullets on the same spot in the armor to have a real chance of doing anything substantive.
Tarkov fragmentation is just a critical hit. Don't think about it too hard, it's literally just an RPG critical hit mechanic. Long time ago there were even plans to be able to increase the fragmentation chance through skills.
actually fragmentation no longer works on players just ai these days.
I played this one time and shot someone like 20 times and they didn't die. Refunded immediately
TLDR: Play arma instead, this is a tedious unfixable game that runs horribly and will always have cheaters unless serious changes are made.
This game has shitty gun play as a shooter and the attachments and customization of weapons, armor choice, ect boils down to an illusion of choice under some pseudo realistic guise. The only realistic aspect of the game is that the guns, locations, gear are real. The game will always run and sound bad at this rate. 2 steps back for 1 step forward. The only reason to play this is if you want a grind worse than RuneScape in a shooter with clunky unnatural movement and weapon handling. The bosses are becoming cheesier (in both concept and how you have to fight them) and the lore becomes more convoluted.
The pros of Tarkov are the setting, the realistic models of gear and weapons, and the medical system (though arguably a little too tedious and punishing). I like the ability to pack mags and the gameplay loop as a concept.
>shitty gunplay
>play arma instead
I left arma when tarkov got big and haven't looked back.
>sounds bad
>recommends arma
Crack pop crack pop crack pop can't hear shit but bullet cracks if its a lively server. I'll be the first to moan about tarkovs sound engine(s) being engineered by monkeys but the samples are god tier (beat jsrs by a mile) and at least bullet cracks don't drown out literally everything.
Arma had great sound until they overhauled it several years back and tuned up cracks to 11. Never seen devs destroy their own work quite that bad. Bsg simply keeps shitting up an already shit sound engine.
Not my fault you play vanilla arma. I just recommend spending one’s time on anything else than this Slavic cess pool. It had potential. It’s fricked. Don’t buy in or give them money now. Great big hyped up streets launch aye? I have an alpha arm band. I played when the only maps were customs, woods, and factory. I wish Tarkov was good. Like I said, 2 steps back for every step forward.
It has unrealistic systems that mimic real life systems. It's a unique experience that hasn't been well replicated in any other game, but so is putting toothpicks under your toenail and kicking a wall.
>It's a unique experience that hasn't been well replicated in any other game
And that part should be stressed a bit. For whatever flaws Tarkov might have, it's doing something sufficiently right enough to have triple A studios drawing big inspiration from the game, and usually failing (BF 2042) or sometimes succeeding (MW2).
A game that could have been good but is unfortunately developed by technologically illiterate white Black folk
S tier summary
>spend 10 minutes building your loadout
>spend 5 minutes loading into the match
>spend 2 minutes playing the actual game then die
>spend 5 minutes loading back into the main menu
not at all, in a nutshell
the fat frick in charge is moronic and regularly contradicts himself and what the game actually is like every time he opens his mouth
not to mention every time he watches people playing his game and in a way he deems wrong and pulls an update midwipe changing a bunch of shit
Do yourself a favor and play VR shooters.
>play VR shooters.
Best post in thread. FPS is just mouse twitching and pre-aiming at head level.
VR Shooters (and VR in general) literally cause PTSD because shit really does feel real. VR shooters are only getting better and they're already amazing.
The game can be fun, but currently it’s in a state of shit because Nikita and BSG absolutely hate to see player have any sort of fun. In terms of realism it pretends to be realistic but:
- Your character can re-attach busted limbs infinitely
- You can die of dehydration and hunger in under an hour
- Putting Vaseline on your body somehow let’s you walk with broken legs and arms
- there’s more recoil on an mp5 shooting 9x19 than a gun shooting 7.62x39 (mutant)
- Actually all the recoil is horrible and doesn’t make sense, and is not fun
- The game has been ruined by changes meant to combat RMT and hackers, but the hacking situation is worse than ever and all the changes that people had to “compromise” on to combat hackers are still in despite not doing anything to stop them
- key rooms have been nerfed, and looting any map except lighthouse and streets is not worth it.
- On the topic of streets, they released a laggy unfinished map that only the top 5% of computers can run at over 60 FPS, along with rubber banding that can last minutes that even the biggest streamers have to deal with
- too moronic to figure out steam audio, so they scrap it for an even worse version of oculus audio.
- overall, game has become
more grindy and less fun. Carried mostly by the people you play with the and the faint hope that the game will one day be in a playable state.
Thank you for coming to my rant, the game is shit, Nikita is shit, the realism is shit, but you may have a bit of enjoyment if you’re new or haven’t played for a while. Just don’t expect this game to respect you or your time.
>it’s in a state of shit because Nikita and BSG absolutely hate to see player have any sort of fun
more like they want player to buy the "leg and an arm" edition so they make the early game as painful as possible.
Every step forward they take with this game's development is like ten steps back.
I wish I would be able to play the game as it was in 2017-18 but with new content and maybe stuff like inertia, or, better yet, have someone else create the whole gameplay from grounds up while keeping the aesthetics and gear.
A great game if you’re a streamer or plan to pay it for 12 hours a day as a NEET.
I remember them just doubling the XP requirement to get to lvl 20 one minor update
One of the reasons I don't play anymore, main reason being BSG is pants on head moronic
BSG is worse at handling a videogame than a group of lobotomized monkeys
Ignoring minutiae like ballistics, armor pen blah blah blah here's what I love about Tarkov:
>the sheer tension of playing is unparalleled, second to none
also why I rarely play, my fricking blood pressure man
>AI is decent and sometimes even devious
a single scav can be dangerous, any other game you need to blunder into a group of them to even be threatened
>equally unparalleled level design,
every building, hillside, corner, nook & cranny is unique
You could take any random screenshot and know where it is, save for maybe the woods. It's beautiful and immersive, unquestionably
>guns + parts + accessories
frick the tetris I just seriously love the autistic magnitude of that shit. frick the metas I just love mixing it up.
>>AI is decent and sometimes even devious
>a single scav can be dangerous,
Because they're poorly setup and scav bosses literally have inhuman reaction speeds+aimbot
Oh they are also completely unbothered by things you are, like recoil and thirst or stamina
unparalleled level design,
Unparalleled because it's shit from a gameplay perspective
Yeah that's a mall alright, but it plays like utter dogshit
>how realistic is EFT
LOL
>the game does a really good job of immersing you with its movement
LOL. You run past a bush and it slows you down like you stepped in quicksand.
>aiming
Yeah, no.
>item and loot mechanics
If you're good at Tetris, you'll be good at inventory management.
>and those elements all feel pretty realistic
LOL, no.
Black personkita doesn't even play his own game because "it's not where he wants it".
That should tell you all you need to know about the game.
>be me
>sneaking around
>get the drop on a PMC
>score a nice center of mass target hit with rifle caliber.
>they wheel around and 1 shot head shot me
yeah frick this game
should've aimed for the head. but yeah the game sucks
Always aim for the legs
The game is Mechwarrior with tacticool bullshit
hate the ridiculous recoil and the mall ninja gun shit.
the shit recoil and constant wipe is just there to force player to buy the expensive edition to avoid the early game.
Early game is literally the best part, what are you smoking?
early wipe is the best part, before all the streamer and sweat turn into super mall ninja and left you behind.
The game in reality is mostly dogshit because of bad game design and devs not learning how to code. This results in bugs from years past resurfacing and streets releasing unfinished and still shit.
7 years and somehow people still think this game is worth it. Feels like no one can look at the games future because they all know it'll be bad so they end up staying in the moment for better or worse.
game sucks. I can't stress how bad the game design is, what are neat or cool ideas aren't translated well into the experience or straight up clash with other features and it's really jarring. you will not use 90% of the the guns or attachments because BiS turns the recoil system into cod. Half the armors are pointless and item bloat past wipe day. one scope could have a different mouse sensitivity than the next. Cheating is pretty rampant but, mostly contained to the high loot maps. The past couple of updates have just included made up shit such as, .366 AP and .45 AP which yeah is a minor complaint but it's a troubling sign of bsg's loss of focus and vision. there's a zeroing system but each gun is coded to a certain load in its respective caliber and so are scopes but nobody uses zeroing soooo...
TL;DR:
>combination of fantasy rpg and shooter game, done poorly.
>severe item bloat
>identity crisis
>shady devs
>unoptimized entirely and this patch is particularly bad
>it's operator dress up if you want to play offline
t. 800+ hours + 3-4 wipes played.
mad cuz bad learn to tap or stop relying on vidya spray to get kills recoil is never going to be 1-1 so tap and hipfire when in close proximity. The game is fun. t. 4k hours and never got above level 40
You sound like the living emodiement as to why this game will never get bettter.
I play to enjoy I'm not a chad I'm not rushing kappa or doing fricking endgame content, I play how I want and I enjoy building guns and shooting bolt guns on lighthouse and ratting shoreline and enjoying the fricking game nobody is making you play and if you take it too seriously you won't enjoy it.
I know you've never played the game because you're talking about tap firing
Russian devs are always suspect. No Mans Sky used up his profits to fix his game. EFT feels like he is over promising for getting more sales but each patch feels like there are hardly any devs working for him.
Tarkov is held back by tech and engine. The gameplay itself is fun once you "get" it and learn to play your own way.
It's still a game, not a mil sim. The systems in play do a decent job of feeling like representations of real life considerations, but they are still structured on gameplay, rather then IRL. Exaggerations and inaccuracies are all over.
This latest wipe has brought with it terrible audio and questionable performance(both network and frames) on the new map Streets of Tarkov. This has led to a very justified backlash.
Streets itself is a great map if you can get past performance issues. When you start learning the key areas and locations it can lead to some great fights and action when it's running right, it's also absolutely swimming in loot. That is all based on the big "if you can run it... and hope to frick you don't walk into a network bubble".
One lesser known secret is that night time streets is actually completely playable and runs better then day. Devs made good use of dynamic light sources and you can even shoot out street lights and create concealment.
>Spawn at that mall with buddy
>Only equipment is a pistol and some really good ammo
>take meds and run like SANIC
>go to the electonics store
>get there first to grab a graphics card
>put it in the safe container
>lay in ambush as next pair comes up the escalator
>wreck em as they try to look for gfx card
>loot all their shit and go out hunting without any worries since you already got that gfx card
Good times. But then they put restrictions on selling items you didnt extract, so went downhill from there.
It's more realistic than most shooters out there, but that's not a very high bar.
The balistic armor is completely out of whack though, face shields being able to stop anything above the average handgun round is insane.
Also, the fact that 5.56 is less controllable than 7.62x39 is mental, even in well built rifles designed for controlling spray, 5.56 still somehow jumps around more even though it's a smaller round.
And don't get me started on how the meta was "big rifle with drum mag and laser sight being hipfired on full auto" for ages, and is now just PCCs being used in the same way.
This is all before we even bring up the bugs, server problems, hackers, FRICKING QUESTS, RMT and all the other problems it has.
It legitimately feels like a worse star citizen at this point with how poorly development has moved forward over the last year or so.
I am 100% certain that if they let the community host their own servers with their own admin teams, or even just for a bunch of friends to have one to hang out on, most of the problems I have would be gone.
Also, they STILL haven't implemented the linux anti-cheat patch even though they emailed battleye and battleye responded.
The shitty part is, it COULD be good, it COULD be really fricking great, but it isn't, and I'm really fricking bitter about that.
Checked
>Feels like a worse Star Citizen at this point
That says a fricking lot. Also, when the frick did Star Citizen raise over 500 million USD?
>That says a fricking lot. Also, when the frick did Star Citizen raise over 500 million USD?
After they more or less convinced Chris Roberts to frick off and stop trying to man-handle the project so much, it started making some decent progress.
Lot of new people have been hopping on since then, they usually try out the free week and buy a ship.
It's still nowhere near a level of quality and completion that I'd feel okay recommending though, it's still a buggy, laggy mess where you're fighting the game's code more often than you're fighting other players or NPCs.
It's also really fricking tempting to just outright buy ships to skip the grind every wipe, if you don't at least have a prospector you're basically farming hand mining or bounty missions for half the patch.
Only saving grace is that most of the people playing it are either pimped out simpit players that can't aim on foot or zoomies playing on a 10FPS toaster, makes ground combat really easy.
Looks like Star Citizen actually might have a chance of being released in our lifetime. Not a huge chance, but a chance nonetheless.
>be me
>hornet gay
>frick I love the hornet
>some c**ts mastered the thing and shat all over the new c**ts who just started
>complained the hornet is op
>has been a shell of it's former self since 2017
fricking aegis gays man
I've been saying this for a God damn while and I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this is like Star citizen at this point.
>ow realistic is EFT in terms of ammunition, armor, ballistics and its damage model?
the game is fricking stupid. I am in it right now. you can dump 30-60 bullets into a person from 3 meters away and they survive. it's just so bad.
you can also "lose" limbs and just repair them to be functional again.
its just so stupid. its like an arcade shooter game, made difficult on purpose. its plagued with bugs and even the devs don't really play the game.
there is a new game coming out with Unreal though, hyped for that. it's Tarkov, just without the stupid RPG elements.
What is it? Marauders? That one ftp game that no one cares about?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2116120/PROJECT_QUARANTINE/
Not trying to shill it, I know how many games don't become anything, etc. I mean look at Tarkov. Years later, FPS is still dogshit. If you use a scope, enjoy 20 fps. Servers can just random spike to 200ms ping and you can get kicked. And the list goes and goes.
Even with all these issues I'd like the game, but this damage model drives me nuts. Scavs can exterminate me from a mile away with some potato gun. I put 70 SKS bullets into a dude with barely any armor and I died. it's just very stupid, very often.
>pve only
whats the fricking point?
I've wished for years Tarkov would have a separate single-player character with quests and raider AI applied to a squad or two of AI PMCs like the SPT AKI mod. frick flea, frick cheaters frick lag frick 15min queues and oh yeah, FRICK CHEATERS.
I mean, Tarkov PVP is also cancer since it throws you in solo against full groups. its so fricking stupid.
Bro the random nature of every raid is one of the most redeeming features. Yeah it sucks getting wasted by a 3-5 man... But there is also no better feeling then if you manage to take them out.
Still dogshit
sounds like a skill issue.
Take a (You) Black person
>take 7.62×54mmR to the fricking chest
>you walk it off
the game is moronic garbage rewarding only people who sink stupid hours into it, like streamers
>equip ncstar optic
>it doesn't lose zero immediately
>chink shit optics are part of the the meta
not very realistic
>airsoft attachments everywhere
>bullet damage varies based on which caliber killed streamers a lot
>take 20 rounds to the plate and you just walk it off
This game was ruined the moment streamers found it. Back when it was just Factory, Woods and Customs before all the sweaty meta try hard homosexuals made the game a hyper sweatfest of homietry.
Russian games are all about micro transactions or making you suffer so you buy DLC. War Thunder is basically pay2win
Yeah Tarkov is no different. Burger Kings get significant advantage with inventory space (end game storage from the start), a 3x3 secure storage which is essentially a permanent T bag attached to your ass. higher starting trader rep, which gives you far easier access to early traders without needing to complete certain quests to reach.
it's easy mode really, and kinda stupid to try and balance progression around.
I wish BSG instead of adding new crap would OPTIMIZE THE GAME even on streets despite 32gb of ram its still getting barely 60fps, no streaming open nothing.
It gives you the mirage of realism but it's a video game, the ballistics are good enough, the armor system is a joke, the guns look and sound nice but some of them are ridiculous, you can make an AR15 that has 0 recoil or one that sends rounds into the celing because video game attachment meme.
The community is dogshit and annoying, most of it is slavaboos or armchair tactigays and almost all of them are sweaty tryhards.
I gave up on the MP aspect of this game like 3 years ago there are SP versions you can find (for free even) and those are significantly more fun albiet still have a lot of issues.
Short of it is that it's a video game not a sim, it looks pretty but it's hardly realistic. Arma is still the king when it comes to proper milsims and people who say otherwise are moronic.
>SP versions you can find (for free even) and those are significantly more fun albiet still have a lot of issues
They also have a decent modding community too
They even put the fricking scar and aug in the game before bsg did
Yeah but arma is so mf dated and the sound is trash due to cracks. Also the community leans heavily into 100+ player servers that give abysmal FPS when the same hardware running a wholly sufficient 50 player server would run like polished glass.
Squad took arma, stripped out the vehicle autism, put it in a modern engine, and focused the gameplay somewhat. It isnt perfect, but also its player base is somewhat competent at fps, whereas arma lobbies were pure noobfests even on the strictly PvP servers. Arma was like stomping kittens, it got old after a while.
Basically, if you want milsim either hardcore arma coop autism with comms, ACE, chain of command, etc, for non-pvp, OR Squad pubs.
Or tarkov which had a ton of RPG bs slapped on but is otherwise far more thrilling than the others by a mile.
I tarkov and squad or insurgency all are much more thrilling but they are hardly "realistic" squad can be depending on the server and such but PR honestly is more realistic despite being more dated and on the BF2 engine and Arma might feel more janky and run like ass but it's a hell of a lot more realistic if you actually want to do milsim shit.
Most people don't actually want to play a milsim they really want something more akin to what battlefield used to be back in the BF Vietnam or BF2 era something that is realistic enough and immersive but still lets you actually have fun and not spend an hour driving around in a truck to get ambushed from a mile away.
People make too much of the P2W benefits of the game+ package. It makes early wipe a bit easier, but after 40hrs of play most of that difference is gone. The starting loot is used up, the traders are leveled anyway, and the standard game players have an upgraded protected container that's halfway between their starter and the game+ container.
Anyone who complains about what is in effect a bunch of mostly minor comforts is coping poorly.
The game has its issues, this isn't worth mentioning.
>The game has its issues, this isn't worth mentioning.
The game has had lots of the same issues for years with no fix in sight but yeah go ahead and shill away
Anyone who likes a thing and still gives a balanced take with lots of criticism is a shill, okay.
Don't forget it's been in "development" for 7 god damn years
It makes the early to mid game significantly easier which is a large chunk of the game for much of the player base. Yeah it doesn't matter when you hit 40's and have all those upgrades... that's when you are supposed to be getting them. duh.
Have you played with an alpha account? The amount of hideout management is just obscenely annoying. Storage upgrades cost tons and are level locked. Trader rep needs to be managed if you want to be able to get progress on certain hideout upgrades and storage containers. Having a gamma off the bat gives you the ability to carry meds+stims, keys+cash, and loot without ever having to worry about sacrifice.
It's not just pay to win it's pay to suffer less, and it trivializes certain aspects of the game entirely.
>hit 40s
Hit 15 more like.
>hideout management
Just sell stuff packrat, its a non issue if you don't hoard compulsively.
>hideout upgrades
90% pointless nolifer filler
>storage containers
See above RE: sell things.
>gamma
You can get Beta at level 15 for 1M ruskiebucks, and that's all you really need.
It matters a little for the first week of wipe, why care this much?
lmao when was the last time you played? That reply reads like 2 years out of date. A lot of posts to defend the BK boys... i wonder who could be behind this post...
>t. No argument just mentally vacant posturing
Current wipe.
15 gets the flea obviously. Buy a beta all good 2+ slots is a docs case so cool. Still not parity to Gamma, you need to play shoreline 10000 times and complete punisher to get that. Now punisher 6 opens at 21 so if you are really on point you can get a decent secure container by then, but reasonably you are gonna be getting it later.
Hideout management is a thing and pretending it's not is just misleading, half the game is tetris. Also god forbid i loot and store said loot in my inventory in the looter shooter game I'm playing.
I could just leave my storage at 1 the whole wipe and just sell sell sell but that's kinda silly, most people will upgrade storage, and they are expected to. Best part is lvl 2 and 3 cost a cool 12 mil plus parts. Upgrade 3 costs 200k in euro. Plus all the parts as well. All of that is skipped if you have EoD.
Hideout upgrades likewise are extremely valuable for both marketing and selling loot as you need capital pretty much the whole progression. Making those pesky FiR items that just don't pop up. Also you want to be making a lot of ammo since AP is hard to find and off the markets. Likewise scav case and Intel center are valuable for scav timers and gambling. Scavving can be more fun then a PMC so having a short timer is a no brainer. Scav case you can miss but i find it fun. We also have new things like shooting range level 2 with moving targets and of course the gym.
Many of these upgrades are locked behind certain trader ranks. Having EoD makes getting those requirements easier.
These are basic mechanics of the game, to just say "lol don't use them" is not an argument when we are comparing two different levels of progressions. It seems to me you got your opinions mixed up with facts and decided that just because you don't want to use a feature means that it doesn't matter and that somehow this leads to a belief that EoD doesn't give a real advantage.
EoD is easy mode and you pay for it = p2w.
Have EOD, can confirm its P2W as frick. If Tarkov was the game it should be, the argument that EOD is the full edition and worth the price would probably be valid, but read the thread of course its not. Having EOD compared to standard version saves probably well over 100 in game hours, all of which are grinding, mind you. Beyond that, the full stash isn't even shit, containers are where its at, the best ones which give you like a 6:1 to 10:1 space expansion being like 8-15 million throughout the wipe.
Here's a fun tip: If you're trying to make money, having gear is fricking moronic!
Here's how I averaged 500k per 10 minute raid.
>have EOD
>have Shoreline resort full key case and injector case
>load in with USP w/ .45 AP and Berkut (25k)
>sprint to resort in a completely straight line
>use USP to kill any scavs in the way
>run to room 301E or 219W depending on what side you're on
>you now most likely have exceeded the cost of your kit tenfold by shit in your secure
>if you hear no one coming, which you most likely will before they're on you, keep looting
>if you get really lucky and full loot before anyone shows, you're talking well over a million for a near zero investment
>if you hear anyone coming, pop propital, jump out window, beeline extract
>this entire process takes about 10 minutes and with the skills system you get faster every single time at an extremely high rate
Mind you, this is two wipes out of date so things like propital negating damage is gone and I have no idea if Shoreline still has that insane of loot, but it made the game a joke. If I had two hours to kill I could make 4 million plus loose meta kit and then run slicks (which I'd accumulated by camping the trader restock all day like a no life) half a dozen raids in a row, dying, not caring at all.
Oh also if you want a hot take on moderation in that game, my name was Black folk and my friends names were similar, never got banned, level 50+ two wipes in a row.
Current wipe has had pretty awful stability and performance. Also hacking is still very real and wide spread.
But streets is worth it.
If you don't take the game seriously and just scav it till you figure it out, streets will impress with how simple yet deep it is.
Fantastic map hidden under a slew of shit and incompetence. Fits pretty well for the game as a whole.
frickin lol yeah this game does sound like a total joke when you tell that story
I dunno man I'm enjoying it when I'm doing loot tetris and playing with friends, but the game is just frickin unbearable solo. And of course I have the cheapest version and my stash is now actually full, and I don't know what to do because my progress is now stunted unless I sell all the good gear I looted to just go loot more of it. Regardless I cannot bring myself to play a PMC solo, I will only do scav runs, because why the frick would I risk anything when I know frick all about the game or any of the maps
So my advice in QRD is this:
Abuse therapist's insurance for little things and extra armors. It's longer then Prapor and quicker return. This means you can treat it as a stasis for shit like headphones.
Sell armor when it goes too low and sell bad armor or use it in factory. Cash takes less space then gear, sell stuff it's it's beyond your use.
Many valuables and high value bartering goods might be worth more for cash then the space depending on the item. Consult the wiki if unsure.
Invest in getting boxes for your shit. and prioritize getting stash upgrade 2 in the hideout to get some breathing room.
what is QRD?
I'm using as many rigs as I can to maximize inventory slots, i saved up for and bought the junk case. ive been experimenting with ripping mods, magazines, grips, stocks scopes etc off guns to see if can save room. im stacking backpacks together. been selling damaged armor and guns and ammo thats shit or i cant use
but like, i still cant buy ak74's, and i have 3 of them sitting in inventory, i have 4 SKSs i want to use, 3 level 4 armors, 4 level 4 helmets
and now im actually out of space, like i cant loot anything else without deleting/selling shit
wondering if i should just sell all of the expensive items i have because im never using them anyway
just starting running your scav loot runs as a PMC and see what happens. worst case you loose kit you didn't have space for. Best case you survive. Gotta use it to use it.
oh lemme add that im now basically having to sell things i get back from insurance lol. definitely feel like just ran headfirst into the p2w wall
yeah if you aren't going to use guns within a few raids sell them, their space to money ratio is generally shit. The same goes for rare quest items that aren't 1x1 slots. Keep railed forends so you can stick lights, lasers, grips and red dots on them. Easiest way to save space on guns is to rip the pistol grip/ magazine out. Most will end up as a 1 x 4/5/6 slotter.
So for solo just play for a goal and like don't bring great stuff, bring stuff you know how to use and that might come back to you. Like a solid pick is a OP SKS from jeager 1. Throw a PSO on it and a 20rd mag and you have a solid starter tool for solo ops. Use sound. Knowing where shit happens in the map can influence where you go. Hear gunshots at new gas? frick that noise. Cut back and over to old gas. Just play smart, and recognize how you get out played.
that's all ive been doing in general and its the reason my inventory is full lol
Yeah you are gonna have to insurance fraud some shit. or just sell it. top shelf shit is worth more in cash. Get inventory 2 with the cash. Have more space. repeat cycle.
yeah been comboing mods as well. also making sure i use the wiki to see what's a quest/hideout item
alright well guess ill just sell a bit to make room then start bringing decent gear or selling it until i have space again
thanks for the tips guys
>sounds like a joke
Its because he's a joke.
There are different ways to play this game:
You can focus on RPG completionism and being top geared, and I guarantee you will never be content and end up on social media b***hing and moaning about every little thing, like EOD. This is autism and a few other mental disorders.
You can play solely as a scav and enjoy low risk low reward and always being shit on by geared pmcs. This is fine if you're just bad and don't expect to get good, but you still get the basic gameplay loop with less stress.
You can play the ultimate shitter, the extract camper bushwookie or pistolier, and at that point you should seriously consider a new game because the fun/minute of those is abysmal.
Or you can play the basic loop of load in as PMC, kill and loot and extract with apocalyptic vibes, and otherwise mostly ignore the nolifer RPG mechanics in the hideout/trader leveling systems. This is max fun/minute, and when you get tired find something new and wait a couple wipes.
Tips:
#1 the game is difficult first wipe. Prioritize extraction and avoid PvP before flea. Grind offline factory horde scavs to learn shooting mechanics.
#2 do quests and power level your PMC to get to flea, stop scavving entirely, you are going to otherwise be permanently stuck in your current hole.
#3 Kedr/klin or shotgun with paca is all you need early to mid wipe. Git gud with those. Loot better gear off scavs/pmcs and use it don't stash it.
#4 learn a few loot runs on interchange or (if that's too low SR) cache runs woods for money.
#5 keep keys, check all scavs you kill for them and all jackets, any purple keys, use them.
#6 watch YouTube vids and read guides, this isn't the game to play blind.
Scav in on Lighthouse, beeline it to water treatment, loot the buildings and the dead Rogues gear, extract at Industrial gate or the Grotto.
Easy and fast way to make profit.
These are all minor issues not really game changing.
>assbag
They're selling excess with gamma, not necessity. 6 slots is fine, I don't feel the need for more, while 4 was rough but over quick enough.
>stash
Hideout management can be done with 10 slots, 100, 10000, you still have to manage the loot you have and sell stuff. There is almost zero game benefit to having an EOD stash, if anything it makes you poorer because you aren't selling gear, and I've seen streamers stashes and they look exactly like some hoarders basement.
>upgrades
Hideout upgrades give you very little ROI, even max btc farm takes half the wipe to break even; this was more true several wipes back. The only thing really useful are ammo crafts. Just sell loot to nolife grinders on flea, simple.
>shooting range
Offline scav horde/hard factory is far more effective for warmup and gear tryouts. Also more fun.
>scav timer
Scaving is a crutch I dropped long ago.
>easy mode
No, just default nightmare mode with minor buffs, you still need to git gud.
literal pistolier who can't consider being flush without a big assbag shills EOD, checks out.
Imagine defending BK boys this hard and for what? to prove they are the same when anyone looking at objective information can see that obviously isn't true?
I'm glad you figured out your ideal way to play. Again that doesn't really prove anything when we are comparing progression of two different profiles against one another. Not you vs me in how we play the game.
EoD gives a significant advantage, but more importantly it cuts your time investment into the game. That alone is priceless and. It won't make you a better player but it will give you a easier game.
>the traders are leveled anyway
That shit is not fun, especially if you solo.
Trader leveling is pretty optional anyway outside whoever you use for ammo, and mechanic so you can craft ammo.
Nolife grinding is the issue, EOD isn't a huge boost compared to being a full time player.
it's only superficially accurate with things like ammo types and parts,
basically the stuff nerds can copy + paste from wikipedia.
everything regarding the actual gameplay is totally unrealistic. insurgency is honestly a better game if you want realism, not that it's incredibly accurate either.
Ridden with bugs and issues regarding every aspect of the game, but i still like playing it 1-2 hours a day, it's pretty comfy
The real issue with Tarkov PVP is the people that play it are almost all universally homosexuals. I feel like I am playing ranked CS:GO but with even bigger try hards. Even the people in Sea of Thieves aren't as big of sweaty try hards.
Voip is one of the best features they ever added, and it changes the game entirely. It's not as prevalent as maybe DayZ, and granted it's entirely based on individual situations and encounters, but i have talked my way out of a few sticky situations. Voip is also great for building the scav army and going after PMCs, which is always a good time.
>Even the people in Sea of Thieves aren't as big of sweaty try hards.
god don't remind me. me and my friends tried out the new invasion pvp thing and it sucks ass. not only do they just spit you out 10 feet away from the enemy ship but everyone us running shotgun/sniper to minimize the amount of effort required.
The only thing worse than the state of the game is the state of the community, game was godlike in 0.12 and 11.7 compared to the shit that it is now, and the gays saying everything is better than ever are some streamer dickriders who can't form their own opinion.
I'm going to buy Stalker 2 to piss off vatniks
It's fun. It's more realistic than most fps out there but it's not a simulator if that's what you're expecting.
It's geared toward sweaty tryhards but I think that's a good thing. Not every game needs to be for everyone, sometimes the exclusivity makes success feel even better. It can be pretty unforgiving though.
I'm not very good at the game but I think it's a lot of fun in short bursts. I can do about 2-3 raids before burning myself out. A single player would be awesome for it and from the responses here it looks like someone's already on it.
Pic related is the real reason I play Tarkov, to LARP in-game with my guns.
7.62 High Calibre is a far better game than tarkov.
It's so good but so jank. Also play Marauder if you haven't already
fellow 7.62 enjoyers
Speaking of, I recently tried to get BSM + Mercocalypse working and I don't think it's doing what is intended. After installing Mecocalypse, I can no longer pick a character class nor can I level the character. I was able to up the game level once but after that my required kill count went into the negatives. Any idea? Should I try installing BSM over Mercocalpyse? Trying BSM by itself xrashes my game on save or loading into any of the towns.
I play it a frick ton, it's not realistic at all. Tarkovs biggest strength right now is just how fun it can be to camp out a spot get and hate mail from timmies and chads alike, and also the gun builder is neat
Maruaders is way better.
it's a grind you keep nerding and grinding to get items but the items are locked behind moronic arbitrary quests and trader levels
I like the premise and the sneaking around looting stuff but I find it too frustrating and time consuming and grindy
the quests are shit I want to repeat it, and its moronic you can't buy most things bc you havent lvld up the traders through the quests
can still be fun especially with friends but I stopped playing it
Its okay. The whole game needs a rework in terms of loot and combat. Some people have jobs and can't grind tarkov all fricking day. 2 days into the recent wipe, I was already running into fully geared/decked out players.
Recoil system is broken, most fire fights are over before you can even realize whats going on. Scav AI has pin point accuracy. You can mag dump someone, but because you dont have some form of AP, they will wipe the floor with your ass with their 0 recoil build.
You spend 10-20 minutes to get into a lobby just to get clapped by a NEET who's fully kitted within 20 seconds.
Also scav AI has some sort of final middle finger mechanic.
>In woods
>Looting mountain cache
>Get shot at from scav with shot gun from like 100m away
>Hits my arm, heavy bleed
>One round hits him in the chest, he then proceeds to shoot me again and blacks both of my legs out.
>Waste nearly 10 rounds trying to drop him
>Finally hit him in the chest.
>Can't fix bleeds or broken legs because of how sweaty this game is and everythings locked behind trader levels other than basic kit.
>Hobble around and eventually pull a last stand in the woods against a 4 man squad.
>Kill one before getting my shit rocked by grenades and automatic weapons.
You can get a CMS from Yeager 1 for a nipper barter, i think you start with one as well. Leave it in your secure.
If you are talking about Sniper scav he will indeed frick your shit. Scav AI is largely based on how long you remain in the open. Taking cover and reducing your speed while remaining still will "reset them" after some time. You can then sneak over and use a lean peak to try and pop them. If they agro again then repeat. This will increase your survival against AI drastically if you practice it. It also boosts your covert movement skill as well.
can you elaborate a little on on how that works with scavs? are you saying they lack object permanence?
is fragmentation when the game tells me i got shot in the arm but every part of my body was damaged by the round? because if so then it is definitely not just on AI
yes but it used to be that ammo would frag on a players thorax but that is no longer the case.
They lack it after you break LOS and get cover for a set amount of time and remain sneaked, they also might push but that just makes it easier since you can hear them walking up.
>/k/ seethes about russian video games
LMAO
next /k/ will find out that DCS and War Thunder are from Russia too
(You)
>Mag dump someone in the chest or head, but if they're wearing the right armor they survive with just a minor status effect
>They can then fix themselves up after a 30 second animation performing self surgery
Doesn't matter that they'd be unconscious, with a broken neck or their ribs would be pulverized and lungs turned to pulp.
Game is fundamentally moronic. Too many layers of complex "realistic" game mechanics that don't work together.
the raid series was a fun watch
Mosin rounds bounce off of old soviet surplus helmets, players rubberband into another timeline, vaseline cures cancer, sounds come from the wrong direction every time and everyone cheats.
I have unironically enjoyed the Call of Duty Tarkov knockoff more than real Tarkov
though it's gunsmithing system is arguably even worse than Tarkov's in terms of mechanics
why would you even bother with this thing, it's just a financial stepping stone for russia 2028.
also it's designed in such a way that promotes rats, you switch your gun's firing mode and everyone and their mother knows here you are
>russia 2028
lmao this thing will probably come out in 2028 with the same issues as Tarkov.
>Realism
When dudes IRL are running aimbot we can talk about tarkov being "realistic".
A guy wearing a ssh68 can tank a shotgunner magdumping into the back of his head
It's made in unity. Hard pass.
The lore for the SKS in tarkov is that they came from tula storage stock piles, yet they have the bayonet removed for export.
Unplayable
You’re not getting shot in the leg, throwing on a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, and then going on throughout the raid as if you’re all fine and dandy. Fun game though.
Veritas made a video about the state of Tarkov. Not gonna link it because I'll be called a shill but you could probably find it.
Some of it I don't agree with but a lot of it makes sense.
Honestly, at this point, most of the gameplay issues we have feel like an overcorrection for the whole "laser sight hip fire" meta we saw for so long.
It NEEDED to go, but the way the did away with it basically fricked automatics in perpetuity, giving the average PMC the upper arm strength of a 14 year old girl.
Best fix would have been to just disable the massive (unlisted) accuracy buff from using a laser sight, which is a real thing that turns your gun from a mostly accurate rifle into a laser guided bullet hose.
I think the hipfire will balance out when they add high and low ready stance.
Point fire stance will likely drain arm stamina so people won't be able to instagib you when that happens.
Yeah, watching that video again, the gameplay at the end is more or less how the game SHOULD be now, but isn't.
