You're ignoring the part where military WILL break your body, riddle you with cancer and then they'll just throw you away and get new desperate wageslaves

Military is designed by the rich to serve their purposes. Do you think kiddiediddlers care?

No one outside of your family or friends cares about you, breaking news. You act like every other option isn't the same exact thing except the .mil admits it and gives you shit healthcare as a bonus. Literally the only reason to join is to advance your schooling. If you have no other options it's a fine one.

And the healthcare is SHIT anons. You need permission to go from someone you barely interact with and the medica will assume you're a piece of shit trying to get out of work. Until a cell on a spreadsheet turns red and now you're garbage for not going earlier.

This. Any job that wants a college degree is going to ignore you coming out at 40.

Right. Might as well try for Army retirement for 20 years of service and get that pension + healthcare and then maybe make a little money in your spare time.
A lot of morons make shit decisions when they’re young which compounds and limits their good choices later in life.

^This but that pension plus the other benefits plus paying off most of a home via BAH etc is glorious. The bullshit doesn't follow you out the gate but the money does. Then add Social Security when the time comes and the sum is quite nice and proof against economic swings.

If you want change in your life, and you have very few attachments to your current life, give it a shot. Just a warning though make sure you pick a rating that you understand what your day to day will be like. Also understand there may be a possibility that the military doesnt want to keep you in after an enlistment and with that in mind dont come back out with nothing. Get another degree, talk with/be firendly with the contractors that you may work with, get their business cards.

Do you want to be unironically retired at 47? Join the army. Even with a moronic degree you can join at E-4 and become a NCO within your first contract.

This right here. I'm 26 and already feel disconnected from zoomers. I cannot imagine being 32 and going to live in an institutional setting with 18 and 19 year olds for months on end.

        Anonymous

You get promoted fairly fast when you are older, assuming you are mature and have some life experience. When I joined as an older guy I was showing half the other privates how to do their taxes. It gets easier as an NCO because you can tell them to shut up now and again. If you're worth following they'll listen.

The .mil still suck huge balls and you will have moments you regret joining, I imagine it's easier to fall in line as a young kid. But do your time and get your school.

I'm thinking of enlisting, problem is I dropped out and I need a GED. Getting the GED isn't the issue, I just don't wanna waste my time trying to enlist and then getting denied. With that being said, is right now the easiest time to enlist since they need bodies?? Or am I fricked either way?

      >No GED

Imagine not graduating fricking high school. Wow. Christ anon, you must be a huge frickup. For someone as dumb as you, try to do 20 years in the military and you’ll be fine. In the Army it’s okay to be dumb as long as your strong.

My brother is disabled and was suicidal, he told me the only reason he didn't kill himself was because I dropped out to stick aroun. My dad needed help at home as well because he was also disabled. My mother was the only one working, as my sister and I were in school at the time. If I had to do everything over again, I would.

No, I just knew what would happen if I didn't. He encouraged me to stay in school, but I couldn't let my brother die just so I could pass HS. He told me a year after I dropped out that one of the only reasons he didn't kill himself was because I dropped out!

I enlisted around that age, just make sure you're passing physical before you go. Get a head start on memorizing things you need to know. You'll be fine, just don't end up getting battle buddied with a shit bag and try to avoid being the odd man out. Other than that just do what you're suppose to do and it's easy.

I somewhat did that, I'd make a yearly call to a few recruitment stations. Just go get the GED it's a lot easier than school. Take a few remedial classes and study in your off time. The Army is in a weird spot where they need bodies but they're not particularly acting like it, I would recommend waiting till they consider it a "crisis" and you hear about it in the media. Personally after the vax shit they just pulled I just don't consider the military a viable option for myself anymore but if you're not concerned about that sort of thing I'd still wait a while because it's not like zoomers are jumping at the chance to be in the military and get treated like dog shit for worse pay than dog shit.

Don’t, you’ll end up with soo many problems with your body. At 32 (36/37 when you get out) and wanting to join the military, I imagine that school was never your strong suit, which is fine, but if so what benefit do you hope to get out of this? Your body is gonna be left in a shit state that you’ll struggle in many of the low wagie jobs that you’d qualify for.

Also, be sure to keep ALL documents and what realllly gets the disability up is FOLLOW UP appointments. They want to see history too

If I fail to get my career job by 30 i'm in probably. Not really worried as at that point I'm just admitting that I'm fricking up in this society and don't know what I'm doing so it's time to let uncle sam take the reins before I'm totally out of time.
