Drone guns

Why not just put them on vehicles?

why not make a vehicle out of them?

Anti drone drones are a good idea.

This power should be reserved for humans only

Humans seem to actually be the limiting factor, if you don’t have infantry backup you’re screwed in something like a tank, just put one on top of the tank next to the mg

Like why not just have a mesh drone configuration hovering and blast whatever signal to disable other drones upwards?

They don't actually work against fpv drones btw

Why not? Just change the signal band

        The beam is very tight
Fpv are just way too fast

If it’s a lower band why not just spread the beam then?

            Because of square cube law

How does that violate this drawing?

Because your limit is power output. If you have a tight beam, you're able to affect the target at a greater distance, and the watts/m^2 will be much higher, allowing you to overpower the drone's source signal. If you increase your beams' width, you decrease your affective range, and your watts/m^2, which means you might not be able to overpower the source signal, along with having to do it at a much shorter range.

How does that violate this drawing?

If you can get a concentrated signal strong enough to block someone thing 100 meters away, why not just spread that beam out radially 10 meters? It’s a force field.

inverse square law dumbass, and its not even the right principle. spreading the beam means the beam is gonna be less intense. inverse square is how it gets less intense over distance

Right, so what’s wrong with this

if you have 10 meters of room that’s enough time for fpv to become useless and miss

                >10 meters
The drone is still coming at you on a set path
                You won't dodge in time

If it’s dead reckoning like shahed sure but fpv drones are manually controller and require the controller signal, if you block that it stays put. Unless if they program the hardware to move in the last known direction.

Have you never flown a fpv drone anon?
If you lose signal and have the failsafe off they will just keep doing whatever your last input was

I didn’t know that, what about really big fans? Maybe even a jet turbine on top of a tank so it could evasive maneuver?

                Maybe? Seems dumb
Best bet is laser turrets imo

How about have a vehicle use a drone net of escort drones? Something like preemptively using a few drones above or around said vehicle with the sole purpose of suiciding incoming enemy drones by proximity? Like a form of ablative armor.

Like an actual net or do you mean a swarm of drones? Nets aren’t very effective.

You’d also have to prevent it from killing birds

Quadrotors have pretty short battery lives. FPV drones without a payload can only fly around fast for like 5 minutes. Slower camera drones get like half an hour flight times.

A force field would be better

That's what Coyote is, and Coyote block III is a HPM which flies close to the drones and fries them. Allowing it to be reusable.

Missiles are gay, throwing shit at drones is gay, frying it is kind of cool but I didn’t see that. We either need a microwave or lasers which are gay

Vehicles are able to carry much heavier, and more powerful systems. Those are made specifically for humans to carry, and are inherently limited by those design limitations.
