It's true that it's lame, though. Like, what military units use them? What video game or movie has it showed up in? None. SCAR, G3, FAL, Tavor, M110. They've all been used by cool guys and have shown up in cool shit.

if your grip is in front of the charging handle on this thing you're likely a 60 year old grandma

No need for a forward assist. And probably more strength when mortaring the action with a stuck case.
Where its placed, you don't have the issue that the SCAR did where your hand can get in the way of the charging handle.

the Bren doesn’t have a reciprocating charging handle, but it functions as a forward assist

No. Nothing B&T makes cucks anything besides money from morons. They give swiss engineering a bad name in order to capitalise on dumb mutts with too much money.

This. Look around for cracked bolt carriers that they refuse to acknowledge or sheared cam pins.

The APC308s sold so poorly they were trying to figure out how to convert them to 6.5 a year ago to see if they could catch on to that bandwagon. It's why they're literally pivoting towards essentially an AR clone with the SPC.

I'll take things that affected a single batch of 500 guns 5 years ago for 1000, Alex.

Oops forgot other response. No it doesn't cuck the scar, they're about equals in most regards.

Between the APC223 and Scar16 I would take the scar because the scar is far lighter. The APC223's barrel borderline SOCCOM thicc.

Between the APC308 and SCAR17 I would take the APC because they actually resolved the electronics eating nature of the SCAR17 had.

Overall I'm not disappointed in the APC at all. But until their NRCH hit the market later this year I don't see a reason to get one over a SCAR which is about the same cost.

          I own ALL FOUR - apc223 and 308, scar16 and 17.

Does the buffer actually make it softer shooting in the 223 variant or is it a meme?

            Anonymous

Anecdotally it does feel softer than my AR by a noticeable amount, but I don't know if its enough to make a practical difference.

I’d say the SCAR, BREN, ACR, and B&T are the same (AR-18 rectangle) but the XCR and MCX are at least improvements

It’s interesting. This only seems(ed) to be a problem on the Bren 2MS in 7.62x39. The Bren 2S overrun that they sold in the US with the monolithic upper don’t have this problem as far as I know.
