I thought I finally found one on Al’s Customs but after waiting 2 hours to check out, the damn thing went out of stock. All the other sites from forums 2+ years ago posted listings that have since gone out of stock and never returned. I feel like there’s absolutely no way to get a hold of these things without paying 700 bucks to some meth-head on Gunbroker.
In the same boat. As far as I know no one "really" makes them anymore. The retro crowd wants M16/M16A1 uppers. Modren people want M4 uppers. What kept A2 uppers alive were CMP competition shooters. When the CMP started allowing scopes up to x4.5 magnification in 2016 the bulk of CMP shooters switched to M16A4 free float style rifles. Honestly there is still a market for the uppers but we seem to not be as big as the CMP market was. Oh and all the big name CMP rifle stores ran out of A2 stripped uppers. Last I saw one for sale was at Compass Lake Engineering two years ago, and they sold out the day before I tried to buy one. Fulton Armory does have compleat A2 uppers for sale at around $1k.
Surely, Brownells has a BRN16A2 in the works along with A2 kits. Just be patient :L

From what I understand once they've got the A1 uppers dialed in at H&R, they're going to start getting A2s going. I figure I'll just grab one of those when they eventually start cranking them out.

Really I'd just wait for PSA/H&R. They'll make them in gray or black. It'll be a while though. IIRC their grey is close to colt grey but a little lighter.
I’m down to a single Colt Sporter 2 as my only A2, I sold off all of my old A2 uppers for $500-$800 over the past year. They’re cool and when they were dirt cheap because nobody wanted them I bought them all the time just to build into whatever I wanted but people are willing to pay for them now so I made a few grand on old A2 uppers that I tore apart from ARs that have sat in the safe for years. Dumb zoomers only want them now that their favorite homos on r*ddit and Instagram tell them that A2s are cool. I wish I had more A2s to sell.
I don't understand the appeal of cloning rifles. I guess it's kind of like collecting which I also don't understand it appeal of. The H2O offer does not functionally do anything better than the flat top upper. Unless you're making period correct visual media I don't understand why you would actually want one
C7 is understandable imo
I’ll give you an example. I’m pretty much only into military surplus rifles. I have Mausers, Lee Enfields, Arisakas, a Mosin, all the usual suspects. I want an AR for reasons. But I don’t want a gucci kitten out AR. I want an M16-A1 clone, because that fits into my wheelhouse of collectibility
