Does anyone have one?

I have bad astigmatism but need long eye relief. Is this the optic for me? The intended use is gong hunting ≤400yds, and beast (coyote, pig, whitetail) hunting for ≤200yds with a 350 Legend.
My only concern is the 1MOA adjustment but I amn't sure my gun is even that accurate.
Please advise, thanks anons.

if it's an etched reticle, astigmatism is a non-factor. most prisms have similar eye relief, I'd suggest bagging the PA 2.5x (not micro) for max objective lens size with a leetle bit of magnification, and if you wait for a sale it'll be like 100$, i got.mine a few months ago for 150 with free shipping and free anti-reflection doodad

if you have astigmatism thats mild, try glasses first

      yep i love my glasses
you should shoot with eye protection anyway, a good set of prescription shooting glasses doesn't cost that much

How did you take a picture with your eyes?

Take a normal photo and blur it until it matches your vision

What's the magnification on that little thing?

      1x
They have a 3x and a 5x but both of those have more typical rifle scope eye reliefs while the 1x is more like a red dot

        Just use iron sights.

I only have a short pic rail (bolt gun) my gun doesn't have dovetails for iron sights

    these are still 200 btw
    >inb4 reeee PSA upcharges the pre-sale price
yes but its still a good hundred dollars cheaper than anywhere else
also OP how much shooting have you done outside? I have a mild astigmatism, and its a pain indoors, but at the ranges you would shoot indoors it doesn't really matter and outdoors a red dot clears up a lot.

Okay OP, I've thought about your situation and even though you shouldn't have bought a rifle that you can't use, there may be a solution that isn't a stupid 1x prism sight. Get a 1-4x LPVO.

Just get a regular 3-9x hunting scope, honestly. If you really really want 1x for some reason do LPVO like said

Sounds you bought the bloody gun, then. What were you thinking?

Are you guys new to guns? Most hunting bolt guns don't come with iron sights anymore

        >new to guns?
No, just recognising the reality of OP's situation. A bolt gun with irons could have been useful to him if all he needed was 1x.

That's the thing, he bought the right gun and is picking the wrong optics. Why not use a 3-9x? They're purpose built for this application.

I generally aim for roughly 1x-1.5x per 100 yds, so for a 400yd gun I'd want 4x magnification, though those PA's are cheap enough that just getting a 2x micro and a 4x prism on good mounts and swapping them out depending on the hunt is actually a perfectly cromulent solution.

Real talk, why can't we have big-ass chevron reticles Russian style instead of some giant meme circle around a tiny chevron and ranging marks you can barely see

        >chevrons
They are the ultimate aiming marker. Infinitely precise, and you can use the bottom area for ranged shots.

Nah, they suck ass. Infinitely precise is a primary arms cope.

The PA reticle is bad because the chevron is tiny.

No, that's not a problem and I have to imagine your only experience with either optic is videogames and posts on the internet or you'd know the PSO-1 sucks ass.

Reconsider. Pic rel was my setup at a competition and I placed 4th.

Well shit I'm wrong then. I can say I 100% see why nobody every bothered to copy the PSO-1 in the west and the ACOG chevron caught on instead, it's just better. Big chevrons mean the chevron, which already sucks, is even less usable. and shots using the bottom of it are less precise.

Fuck both styles though I'll take a horseshoe dot or crosshair any day. "infinite precision" is a solution in search of a problem.

The Acog chevron doesn't have any superfluous shit obscuring it like the PA and other Chinese specials

400 yards with a prism optic is hopeful
if it were a human and you were in defense of life and/or liberty, a prism is fine, 4x is fine...
but if you're trying to humanely take an animal so that the meat isn't completely fucked and it doesn't suffer, use a scope.

I used the PA 1x Cyclops, which was the predecessor of this. It had adequate eye relief to use it like a red dot, as well as the interesting advantage of having a diopter adjustment, so you could, in theory, see clearly through it without your prescription glasses, although normally you'd want to adjust it for use with your glasses on. The main disadvantage isn't eye relief (which is adequate, but isn't infinite), but rather the eye box. It's not like a red dot that you can view from any angle, from as close or as far away. There's a certain eyebox, and it's possible to be too close, too far, or even out of line with it and see black.

      again
Also, I almost forgot the other disadvantage of the Cyclops, which was how tiny the reticle was. I *think* they've fixed this in the new microprism...definitely confirm that before buying. If not, this can be a real annoyance.

If someone is even considering a 1x prism optic to begin with, their eyes are probably semi-fucked up, so expecting people to be able to use this microscopic reticle, when 1x is supposed to be for fast engagement, is like looking at the Homer Simpson automobile - trying to fit every stupid feature into the same product.

I'd recommend the 2x PA prism or a ta33 if you've got the cash.
