Do you really believe he died or just went underground to get more intel?
Hard to believe that a guy of this magnitude would just keel over. Seems fishy.

Tom Clancy was just a fat moronic boomer who wrote the male equivalent of romance novels.
You shut your prostitute mouth. I would never do that with Mr. Clarke.
>Hard to believe that a guy of this magnitude would just keel over
Death does not care
if he wasn't dead before he would be now after seeing how shit tier the russians actually are
yeah someone of his magnitude is just not subject to mortality, fricking moron
Defmon died??
He last posted just 12 hours ago!
stfu homosexual, you'll blow his cover
Tom Clancy posted 12 hours ago????
>Do you really believe he died or just went underground to get more intel?
He never had any intel. He literally said so in public several times.
He just extrapolated from public sources, like we do all the time. His novels were basically just informed speculation by a never-served who was a bit of a naval autist and hung around military types enough to pick up on the lingo.
He was a fricking insurance salesman until he made it big.
He wrote chapters about a plane that never existed because at the time, everyone was convinced that the F19 was real when it was really the F117 stealth bomber and quite different. He correctly identified its role in SEAD because he just correctly deduced that the best stealth would go to the hardest job which is wild weasel, which he knew because he chatted to naval aviators a lot because he attended every naval function he could because he was an autist for the navy.
In a parallel universe, there's a Tom Clancy writing best-selling novels about train scheduling.
I'd fricking read that. Maybe he'd write stuff about the trains under Mussolini.
>In a parallel universe, there's a Tom Clancy writing best-selling novels about train scheduling.
In retrospect, it would seem an odd way to start a derailment.
nice one
that's because Clancy was a novelist first and a military autist second; Larry Bond is the opposite which is why Bond's novels suck
>and quite different
He got A LOT of it wrong, Lockheed and the Air Force secret squirrels must have killed themselves laughing when he wrote that the fighter was CURVED to reflect radar
>He correctly identified its role in SEAD
He was fooled by the F designation as well, believing it was a multirole fighter, perhaps like the F-18; he wrote its first mission was to destroy Soviet A-50 Mainstay AEW aircraft. Only later in the novel was it re-roled to bomb high value targets, like all the other NATO jets
(OP)
>guy of this magnitude
There are lots better novelists out there, though most not in the same genre. Frederick Forsyth doesn't fap as much over the technical details but he's better at writing humans.
CARLOS
Ryanverse was dumb and shit.
That E3 so many years ago has etched "TOM CALANCY" into my mind
>a guy of this magnitude
... trancends mere mortals. Is it his smug smile? His net worth? Is it his footprint left in literature?
It is obvious the gods themselves ended him.
We may never know.
Yeah, there's no way a 66 year old man with a preexisting heart condition could just...die. Must be an elaborate conspiracy theory.
The story of Clancy being an insurance salesman and writing plausible military fiction is inspiring to me. Unfortunately, in spite of years of reading Janes and military strategy I'm not sure I'm the same fit, given I'm a literal autist who can't write characters that don't all sound the same and I have no creative drive.
>all sound the same
Clancy has like three characters in his books. Only the names change. Some of his plots aren't bad, but holy shit he's terrible at the actual WRITING part. He's got Heinlein Syndrome.
>Hard to believe that a guy of this magnitude would just keel over
the only impressive magnitude this fat frick apparently had was the shit coming out his mouth lying about Russian military capabilities.
