Discreet demolition of russian pipelines

/k/, how practical would it be to put an rc car/drone with a bomb strapped to it inside a Russian gas pipe, drive it until it reaches something important inside commie territory and then explode it, crippling zigger economy?

I imagine battery capacity would be an issue, and you'd have to figure out a way to send a signal to the bomb, but is it theoretically possible?
Would plotting a path and having it drive by itself be more practical?

Seeing that natural gas flows from zigeria to the west, you'd have to design something that doesn't get blown back. So aerodynamics and shit starts to matter very quickly. Maybe you can use very sticky rubber tires and a magnet to keep it stuck to the pipe and allowing to drive up

What about something that could ride along the pipe or even near it, with a shaped charge to punch a hole into it at a certain distance?

would be a lot easier to notice though

True, I guess it'd come down to how well monitored the pipes are.
Even on-site security is easy to dodge if you're the size of an RC car.

The problem lies more in having to constantly control the bomb instead of just quietly letting it do it's own thing while hiding inside the pipe. More resources and potential issue to take care of before and during the operation

Anything you're gonna put in there will have to overcome airspeed and inertia of the material flowing through the pipe. Simple as. It is your biggest technical hurdle to overcome for this scenario.
As said in my initial post, yes, something small and flat that rides along the pipe. But it is still a huge issue. Magnet would suck it to the steel pipe to some extent, however it would also increase forces excerted on the vehicles frame, requiring even more electrical energy to overcome those forces, compounded even more by the gas flow that you have to overcome.
Getting it into the pipe while under pressure is rather trivial so that would not be the issue.

        >shaped charge
        Leaks are easy to fix
        >at a certain distance
Still need to overcome your primary technical difficulty

Don't gas pipes also have sensors inside them or something? Would they be able to notice that something is inside the pipe?

Well yes, but I do not reckon those would pose a significant issue, as a pig (pipe inspection gauge) would also be able to pass through it. So its not like you can expect small sensortubes or something sticking out right inside the pipe. Pipe pressure and leakages are detected but that is easily prevented with the right tools and precautions

            >can I use a pig to blow a bomb their way
No, as pigs are launched with the flow of material, not against it.

I just realized you meant along on the outside of the pipe.
Nah. Aboveground you'd run into pipe flanges, valves and junctions. It's not a smooth tube at all.
Would probably be noticed too, unless you hide during the day somewhere and only move at night or something like that.

Eastern europe steals so much gas from those land pipelines the yanks would never dare blow them up because its vital Poland and Ukraine are kept on side and energised with cheap gas

Theoretically speaking, would the current state of affairs mean that assuming you got away with it in Russia, you would never be extradited by your own country for any crimes against people or property with reasonable links to the Russian military? E.g. someone could set off a stink bomb at a recruiting centre or just tickle some soldier in his own home, and as soon as they crossed the border into a NATO country, their own country would be obliged to prevent any sort of extradition or retaliation by Russia, right?

I wouldn't risk it. Risk of extradition, getting skripalled and in general having to look over your shoulder for the rest of your life.

Not to mention the risk of escalating the conflict severely as your actions will be used as propaganda to rile up the population
      >hurrr HATO trannies flew into Belgorod using fortnite gliders and decapitated 15 dogs and baked 40 babies alive in an oven!1!1!

Good, the faster we reach TZD the better
I want Leo and Abrams tanks to crush ziggers at the red square

I think it would just be easier to find a remote section of pipeline and send someone out with explosives to blow it up.
Simple solutions are sometimes the best. We don't always have to attach blades to a hellfire missile to behead a target.

This. There's hundreds of miles of pipeline and you know Russia could not possibly guard all of it. Same with railways, I'm certain that if the impetus was there it would be an absolute nightmare to stop SOF teams from harassing Russian railways in the Eastern half of the country

    >crippling zigger economy
This really isn't how major economies work. As fucked up as Russia is, it is still a country of tens of millions and functions. A single pipeline bombing might cause some localized issues, but to image there's a single pedestal you can knock over and cause the whole structure to collapse is just fantasy
