Disabilities in wafare

I went to the Ukie embassy yesterday and tried to volunteer to fight and they told me to reconsider because of my health issues, I said I was certain I want to join and they straight up told me my services aren't needed and invited me to leave.

I only have one eye and a bum leg however I think Ukraine is in the right. Why are they so fricking picky? I thought they needed anyone they could get?

With modern tech i'm sure people with disabilities can be made useful on the battlefield and contribute to victories.

    >Why are they so fricking picky? I thought they needed anyone they could get?

Because you're a liability. You'll end up getting more people killed than just yourself.

Stop being such a selfish frick.

Then minimize the liability by putting me along with any other disabled people you can scrape up into our own division then?

No. By allocating resources to your snowflake moron battalion, others will go without and get killed. Probably more.

You also seem to lack basic judgement--thats probably more of a reason why they told you to frick off.

I have an ACL injury that was repaired-- I am still completely ineligible for military service. Because, despite having perfectly fine mobility-- I know the injury could occur again at anytime just from bending my knee wrong. I am fine with this.

Outside of a desk job, you're not going to be of much help. Real life isn't Metal Gear, y'know? You can't just rock up in an exoskeleton or replace your limb with a robotic prosthetic or something. As for non-combat roles though, I don't get the point of having tighter restrictions outside of gatekeeping for financial purposes.

Exactly, if the nazis in ww2 had wheelchair bound soldiers why can't Ukraine? It's absolute horseshit and their pickiness is driving people away who want to help.

Total war doesn't mean your accountant is spearheading the trenchlines anon. It just means that going to the mall has a chance of getting obliterated by a missile.

I could hold a gun and move forward.

      >You can't just rock up in an exoskeleton or replace your limb with a robotic prosthetic or something.
I already have a wheelchair, I can move for miles providing it's fully charged.

NTA but I’m suicidal, severely mentally ill (but able to hide it), have low blood pressure that sometimes is a liability if I don’t take meds but otherwise fairly fit and athletic and able to handle mountains and the like. I almost shot myself recently so I was like maybe I should do this if I don’t care about dying since it’s more protective
      >desk job
An infectious disease doctorate/MLS so maybe they could use me in a field hospital to test gangrene idk

So long as life insurance pays I wouldn’t mind getting killed, that much so trench is cool too

Insurance dosn't pay if you die in a war zone playing soldier.

Once again, just because you have civillian degree means absolutely nothing, in any mil/LEO speciality recruitment they first and foremost are interested in your past roles amd experiences in that field, having a medical education and maybe shooting a handgun once a month means absolutely nothing and they will tell you to leave and dont try again. You are a liability who doesnt know their language

The US Army directly commissions as captains people with the exact same degrees and experience I have
I doubt Ukraine would give demented foreigners leadership positions but they most likely have a technician MOS too
Those get blown up enough in Ukraine that it’s a credible suicide attempt, right?

I guess the poster is american since they let their demented morons run around in public and get shot by cops. Anyway yeah ofcourse you can get an officers comission in your own country (but the poster is also fat his fitness is a lie) but the yookraine just wont be interested in some demented fool from the other side of the world who can only speak one language and has tons of other problems

If your were gonna be useful it would be behind a desk, then again you post on /k/ so even your intellect is in question. You'd be an active hindrance in combat, more likely to get your squad mates killed while they take care of your useless ass than you are to contribute anything.

For one thing they wouldn't accepted you even if you were in perfect health. Not unless you have a skill set they very much need, or actual combat experience. They stopped taking in random non-Ukie volunteers somewhere around week 2 of the war. The abysmal Reddit battallion ruined it for everyone. Next time someone shows up for volunteer service on a secret location and immediately starts posting selfies with target locations I hope they are sent to their embassies in chaines.

I highly recommend finding an NGO charity, OP. Most of what we do here is walk for miles under artillery fire to sit in a hole and occasionally shoot at vatnik silhouettes in the distance. Having one eye probably wouldn't be a disqualifying factor, but problems with your leg could be a major hindrance in combat. Thank you for your willingness to do what's right and help your fellow man, and I wish you the best on your journey. Kind regards from the International Legion.

Get a job as a security guard or a defense contractor at a high risk factory, free up a man they can actually use on the front lines without the liability. You can still play a part in the overall effort.

B8 or mentally ill. KYS either way because if you have to ask you're too stupid to contriboot. That level of ignorance is subhuman.

Troops, ALL of them, are expensive to sustain. moronic cripples even more so.

the ONLY THING that the criminal genocidal shithole known as “The Soviet Union” did right was institutionalize ANY and ALL physically and mentally crippled fricks and keep them out of society permanently. I think the americans did it too but the human rights stuff caught up. With legit mind crippled idiots like OP & friends being locked up I think society would be much better

Not the OP, but if you homosexuals locked me up for having nerve damage in my leg you'd be down a mechanical engineer and your taxes would be paying for my food. Rehabilitating injured and crippled people so they can contribute to society is a net benefit to the economy compared to mass-institutionalization.
