No, we need less consequences for students that kick bullies teeth in. Bullies tend to work for the government when they don't become part of the fentanyl statistics.

The worst shit to have ever happened to the american education system was the 'zero tolerance' policies which meant both students got the same punishment. Which basically equates to neither side being punished. It then ingrains learned helplessness into the bullied party and teaches the bully that they face no consequences worse than their target exacerbating the problem.

The real reason why this was implemented was because schools are lazy as hell. Not even the teachers want to be in public school. Instead of doing the minimum to find the guilty party and administer fair punishment they simply throw their hands up and expel both students.

        >Eddy Eagle

That was the worst part of it all. And also the best. The worst because the one bullying likely doesn't give a single shit about being expelled but the one getting it does since they actually give a shit about their future. But you can work this to your favor. One time anyway. The schools I went to had two strike policies. First time you get caught beating/getting your ass beat, it's suspension. Second time is expulsion. No exceptions. So if you become a mark and a fricker is fricking with you and they've already been suspended once while you haven't yet, you have every opportunity to just walk up to him and hit him. You're only going to be suspended and him expelled. Problem solved. Though now you are the one that will get fricked if anyone decides they don't want to see you around anymore. You had to be very strategic with it.

That's not anti-gun, that's the same shit the NRA used to teach in schools back when it was still socially acceptable for the NRA to talk to kids at school. They had a silly mascot costume "Eddy Eagle" to appeal to the kids.

Don't touch it, tell an adult is good advice if we're talking about first graders.

They also used the stop/don't touch/leave the area/tell an adult. There was even a video. RLM found one somehow and laughed themselves silly at the idea of kids killing themselves with misplaced guns only for Eddy Eagle to show up too late to save them.

It's reasonable advice, too. A dumb little kid shouldn't be handling a gun unsupervised by an adult. And if a kid randomly finds a gun outside or whatever, there's a good chance it's criminal evidence.

Our DARE branch brought a couple cops and this cool robot thing in to our elementary school. It was like some sort of remote controlled thing that looked like the robot from Short Circuit and had a bunch of prerecorded lines to make it look like the cops were talking to it. There was another instance where they showed us a video of some guy tweaking out in his apartment which for some reason had a camera in his bedroom and it showed him getting high and jumping off a window to his death. Poor guys, they go through so much effort for us and I still ended up getting high twice a month while wearing a DARE shirt I got outside a liquor store for free. My dad thought it was fricking funny and took me shooting instead of "addressing the problem". All it really ended up doing was reassure me that I should be a gun owner if the education system was so against even just a lame drawing. That was about 2012 or 2013? Can't remember but the school system justified my belief in gun ownership and teaching my kids guns aren't some terrifying malevolent force. All this time on /k/ and I finally have a reason to bring that story up.

Had an art teacher that wanted IIRC weekly sketches (of real, somewhat interesting objects you owned or could access for sketching) and our projects, which varied in what you could realistically draw due to changing art styles we were supposed to use. I distinctly remember"NO MUSHROOMS EVER REEEEE" because drugs bad. Even though 50% just make your guts rearrange themselves making your life hell, 30% are food, and the remaining 20% probably either just straight up kill you or maybe make you high. Everything was rather realistic but there's a ton of scenes you could draw that would really benefit from mushrooms.

Not legally it doesn't. Effectively it does. Since it's a case involving two minors, the parents of both parties are who have to deal with it and what happens is that they ultimately drop it since if one side tries to press charges and put the other kid in juvy, the other side gets to threaten the same thing. So instead of both parents putting each other's kid in juvy, they just say the hell with it and walk away. You'll end up doing a stint if the kid you banged as a kid has crazy enough parents to go full scorched earth and pursue it and i would hope in such a case your parents would help send their little shit to juvy as well though I bet their parents would be the type to thank yours for it. It doesn't cancel just by virtue of being minors.

In most states below a certain age it actually doesn't cancel out but if two 12 year olds are having sex with one another the prosecutor usually just defers to parental punishment and drops the issue.

We would have competitions to see how far you could stand away from the urinal and still piss in it. We got a talking to as well from the jannies from the 15' streams of piss on the floor extending away from the urinals. The power of a young bladder is formidable and it's only now that you realize just how much that shit has weakened with age.

This is good advice for a kid who finds a gun

On the other hand, if there's one sure-fire way to get a kid interested in X, it's to tell them "don't do X"

No. I live in Norway, and we had rifle shooting as an elective in middle school.

    >I hate that liberals are encouraging children to not play with guns!

You have gone past the point of parody. The real saving grace here is that your moronation is unlikely to propagate as a) you’re an incel that won’t have kids or b) if you manage to have a kid, either you will shoot them or they will shoot themselves.

some guy came to my elementary school and we all had to go the auditorium to listen to his bs. he told a scared straight story about a kid playing with a handgun which discharged accidentally killing him and how the skull fragments peppered his friend's face

Not at school. My high school was literally the type of place where a lot of guys had shotguns in their trucks because they were going to trap team practice after school. My step grandpa hates guns though, to the point where he once paid for me to go to an anti-gun rally in DC, but I didn’t even go to the protest and just used it as a vacation to smoke a bunch of weed

That wasn't really anti gun so much as anti-ND. It sounds like good advice, I think the NRA even had a kids program about this with an eagle mascot

No but live in a sane state where it was never really a PSA that needed to be said. There was a ton of DARE shit. I always collected the folders and binders because I liked the logo but knew the arguments were bullshit

Circa 1964, kindergarten class when Mrs. Dempsey's policeman husband appears during in class recess. Inquiries from the lads about his .38 revolver arise. >Can we hold it? Mr. Dempsey promptly unloads it and offers to let us hold it one a time by his side. Instructs us not to point it at anyone, use the waste basket as an imaginary target. Dry firing, etc. This is what a homogeneous society was, anons.

I've had guys white as driven snow, after their military service ask me to shoot them in the shoulder because "chicks dig scars" and I've had a maroccan guy teach me reloading.
Just because Jamal fricked your sister before you did, doesn't meant white guys can't be dumb as frick.
Go leave you white Black person. Then again, you are probably american, so you are probably naturally not even white-white, just american white who clings to your identity harder than your sister does to Tyrone's wiener. because you found out are like 2.14% Dutch.

i was born in 93, so I had dare in my school, but I grew up with my dad and grandpa having guns so I found that whole 'dont ever touch guns and call the cops if you think someone might have one in their house' thing to be super moronic. Which made me shortly realize that most of what they said about drugs and alcohol pretty dumb as well. Hell I was more concerned about my parents divorce at the time than worrying about drugs.
Grew up in nj and ny btw

My school taught me gun safety, how to be a better and safer shooter, and responsible gun use and ownership. As they should today. Of course I already knew this stuff, thanks to my dad and grandad, but well we know how few kids actually have any male role models or authority figures in their lives, so they need it even more desperately.

thats the NRA. That's literally fricking eddie eagle. There is zero reason why a kid in elementary school should ever be touching a gun without their parent supervising them

  36. 10 months ago
    Anonymous

No, although my dad was all about safety which is why I've never had an ND so I don't really see the issue. I played with guns all the time during summer but, following the habits my dad instilled in me, I made sure they were unloaded multiple times then still never pointed them at important shit. There's no harm in telling kids too young to understand that shit to just leave well enough alone. If their parents know better then they can teach them better.

Hell, I'm pretty sure Eddie Eagle said
    >don't touch that shit and find an adult

My school district never had anything like this, but I expect it to happen soon with what happened the past few weeks. Numerous bomb threats, and people then found tik toks of kids talking about using the bomb threats to gun down the newly barrelled fish. Funnily enough, more people ended up arrested for having weed in their lockers found by the sniffing dogs than the kids that made the threats/tik toks

      >bomb threats
Back in 2011 or 2012 my high school had a bomb threat every day for two weeks because morons realized that if they wrote "Bomb!" on the inside of a bathroom stall that they would evacuate the entire school and we wouldn't have to do any of your classwork for the day, and then the school district just stopped caring and the policy changed to going into lockdown until the bomb squad cleared the building so you'd spend 2-3 hours in the same class

Yeah the first day they hurriedly evacuated everyone, the second day they only evacuated those around the note, and the third day they just went virtual. Now there's cops outside the school every day.
