Did you know that 5.45 has slightly better ballistics, is almost 15% lightger and has less recoil out of similar rifle than 5.56?

Let me quote one NON-RUSSIAN soldier:
"The original AK74s shoot like they have a guidance system. I've shot it in Kosovo with Ukrainians. That's amazing. Every bullet goes exactly where you aim, even when you shoot 2-3 round bursts".

      >Russian tanks blowing up daily, T-14 a no show
      >900k strong army on paper only, can volunteer 60y/olds please help fill the ranks?!?
      >Russian air force... 404 not found
      >Literally half a century old comms and logistics
      >No strategic thinking present, top to bottom
      >VDV
Let the Russians have this one. Vatnik is about to off himself if you take this last morsel of pride from him

all these acting like small arms matter is baffling
I get that you like that but that doesn't make them important.

I did know. I thought everyone knew. Ars vs ak in same or similar caliber usually the ak has less recoil. In fact ars have more recoil than most other guns in the same class even lighter guns. It just doesn't matter cause 5.56 recoil out of an ar isn't that much and is easily manageable even if it does recoil more than 5.45 or other 5.56 guns.

Wow, great thread OP, but have you considered that small arms don't really matter anymore?

why even have soldiers then you absolute Black folk
just let the epicerino dronerinos do it all, small arms don't matter anyways am i right sisters

Yeah. Pretty much. The next ten years will see such a change in warfare I don't think even major nations are really ready for it. The first time an autonomous drone shoots down a Gen 4+ Fighter you are going to see some motherfrickers absolutely lose their shit.

That must be why it's so popular, huh?

      It's unpopular for 3 reasons.
      1. Western countries use NATO ammo and don't use Russian weapons.
      2. Third World countries haven't switched from 7.62x39 to 5.45x39 because they don't wanna spend so much money.
      3. Some communist countries that swiched to 5.45 now are NATO members and use 5.56 ammo.

How many AR's are you seeing chambered in 5.45?

          Anonymous

there isn't because of the reasons he mentioned

If it was a good round there would have been a demand for it. There are AR's chambered in all kinds of calibers.

    Yes
5.45 is better than 5.56 at it's core, but since the West has more money to put into R&D, modern 5.56 is better than 5.45

Also 5.45 is unobtainium in America, if you are that worried about ballistics and weight of individual rounds then you are thinking about a boolagoon larp in which case your 5.45 gun won't have any ammo a month in

Unobtanium? Its like .70 cents a round. Used to be sub .20 before the ATF became homosexuals but still. You dont know what youre talking about

    > Let me quote one NON-RUSSIAN soldier
5.45 shooters brag how their ammo does it's job on the way to the target. 5.56 shooters b***h that their round should do a better job after it's already inside theirs.

It's a subtle difference, but an important one.

5.45 is only modern smalls arms round in service. Everything other is fudd boomer trash like 7.62x51, 7.62x54R, 5.56x45. 5.45 is only service round with sub 1.00 (0.929) G7 form factor. There are no reasons to use bullets with poor form factor. Except been stupid boomer.
