Did I just stumble across britbong military secrets?

Found this in a charity shop in the UK, clerk said it was donated by a senior RAF officer who's a sir. The Sabre engine is a currently still in development air breathing rocket engine being designed for a single stage to orbit spaceplane. Both the UK and US militaries have shown interest in further military applications for it. Pretty wacky stuff.

    >sir

Do you mean like tapped on the shoulders by the queen with a sword Sir? Or owns a local chippy and has a dot on his forehead Sir?

As in tapped on the shoulders with a sword by the queen (or maybe king if it was recent). I'm not a Brit, so idk how all that shit really works, but that's what the lady at the store said.

If you thought this might be the case why would you post it

SSTO research has largely been abandoned, since it was determined it was easier to just make reusable stages. The question of a reusable upper stage was already solved with the Space Shuttle; the big problem with the new reusable rockets was the first stage which is now fully solved. Upper stages are just ironing out the kinks.

Actually Secret Things are plastered in labels identifying that it's classified

I'm not an idiot, I know it's not actually secret. A senior RAF officer wouldn't be stupid enough to donate state secrets to a charity shop. I'm just having a bit of fun because as far as I know I'm the only one on the Internet to have posted anything about one of these paperweights. Also, I know SSTO is much less appealing now that we have fully reusable first stages, but as far as I can tell this project is still being funded and still going places.

Shuttle was never reusable, only refurbishable.
The amount of work they had to put in to get it ready for the next flight was rediculous.

The sabre isnt fricking real it’s a grift project designed to get gullible morons to give them money for the only part of the project which is real, the engine
They’ve been shilling their just around the corner SSTO spaceplane for over a decade.

You have the engine and spaceplane confused. Sabre is the engine, Skylon is the vaporware SSTO.

It might have been a military secret twenty years ago but everyone knows it's vaporware now.
