😀
They have a very spotty track record.
One example that comes to mind was the large iranian drone attack on a saudi refinery years back.
The saudis had the area covered but ultimately the drones got through
Another problem is the difficulty to replenish ammo stocks. The rockets are expensive and hard to make
Yeah nah, a few Saudi-operated Patriots "covering the area" does not turn said area into denied space. Saudi Arabia isn't a denied area in general.
You can't judge the equipment's capability from 3rd world operators.
Case in point with Russian equipment: Armenians weren't able to stop Azerbaijan from spamming Bayraktars and their army got destroyed. Russia was able to stop Bayraktars from doing much of anything on their stalled 40 mile convoy.
The US is more competent than Russia and Armenia is probably more competent than the Saudis, so the skill gap with patriots will be even bigger.
>One example that comes to mind was the large iranian drone attack on a saudi refinery years back.
That's actually a good example for showing what a disingenious shill or guillible useful idiot you are, not even joking. The Patriot system on site was meant to intercept ballistic missiles and high flying cruise missiles, they had a french (???) SHORAD system at the refinery for everything low flying and drones, so that was actually this which failed to do it's job.
But no matter how often you correct it or point it out, there is always another vatnik shill and other idiot in the next thread trying to drag in the same old debunked crap.
>this is a major escalation!
>also the system is worthless, so it doesn't matter
you can't have your cake and eat it
>East Asia Non-Proliferation Program
Ok so I found and read the report. He's a nuclear scientist and he's claiming the patriot can't shoot down ICBMS on the terminal portion of the flight.
A. He's out of date, they have managed to in a test
B. It's not what it was designed to do
A lesson to all PrepHoleommandos, always find the article.
Yeah, this was also made right after the whole 2017 North Korean crisis and was probably written to encourage adoption of and investment in THAAD/SM-3.
The blunt truth is that Patriot is now pretty good against SRBMs, cruise missiles and aircraft. It's not ideal but it's basically the only thing in US inventory that can shoot down something like a Kh-15, which might be coming in at 90,000 feet, mach 3.5, and a 30-45 degree descent angle.
Also ignore the gay OP shilling his video. If you really want to know the basics of how a Patriot works read one of the publicly available manuals for it.
Jeffrey Lewis is an arms control leftist. He is pretty sharp on nukes and balistic missiles, but he is also open about his agenda: stop countries from investing in AMBs and nukes.
He has a podcast called Arms Control Policy Wonk that is pretty interesting about Chinese and North Korean capabilities.
I get not wanting people to invest in nukes but isn't the whole point of ABM systems that they reduce the damage a nuclear war would do?
Why on earth would anyone want to limit their proliferation if they were not actively plotting a nuclear attack?
>be me
>fall for clickbait headline
>scan article
>not a single % sign in article text
Compared to what? Assuming a 40% shoot down then
>1 systems = 60% failure
>2 systems = 36% failure
>3 systems = 21% failure
>4 systems = 12% failure
>5 systems = 7% failure
>6 systems = 4% failure
they are indeed very bad, F-15 is a good plane and Patriot Missile system is a bad missile system. Stop being an idiot. Its bad. Limited and unreliable.
are we rewriting history now just because we dont like russia?
these things dont work end of story
>are we rewriting history now just because we dont like russia?
Yeah, haven't you seen PrepHole since the war started?
Yes, because the Russians have had such an amazing record with SEAD/DEAD until now. Shut the fuck up and cope, you fetal alcohol syndrome-afflicted, vodka chugging sludgebag
you can't even post a single destroyed system delusional vatmoron LMAO
yea americans are retarded
they are like batman, their only good point is that they're rich
Are vatniks seething about the Patriot because it shot down their already pathetic missile tantrum?
They're just doing the same thing as always, trying to downplay the latest piece of Western equipment arriving in Ukraine. Remember when they tried to claim they destroyed Bradleys when they hadn't even reached the country yet.
We don't even know if Patriot was involved in those strikes. And even then Ukraine is reporting 90% shootdowns.
