DDM4A1

Is a DDM4A1 like new condition a good get at $1399. I am debating between that or a Colt 6940 for $1499, but am leaning towards the DD because I like the bronzed full length rail.
Gimme your opinions fellow PrepHoleunts.

If you want the more practical rifle, get the DD. If you want the pony on the lower, get the (C)olt

You think the pinned muzzle is any good or would it be worth it to have a gunsmith break the weld and replace it.
Also what kind of brake/flash hider would be good to replace it with.

Nice, I'm not a fan of the way the DD butstock looks, is it actually good or is there a reasonable replacement I could get. Cliche but I like the look of the sopmod stocks

you can switch it out for whatever you want, but the DD stock is pretty comfy.

Do you have a beard? If so you'll probably dislike the DD stock. If you want a SOPMOD stock you can get a real one from LMT for $200 or a virtually identical clone from J&E Machine for ~$40.
        t. Own both kinds of SOPMOD stocks and my wiferino has a DDM4V7SLW

Yeah, any facial hair you have will get ripped out by the DD stock. If it weren't for that, I would love it.

          >real one from LMT
I thought B5 took over that contract? Their Sopmod stock is much cheaper than LMT’s, but I’ve found that their bravo stock gives a comfy cheek weld without the waterproof compartments and added weight.

            >contract
IDK what that contract would be, but LMT makes all of their own parts and they expect people to pay $200 for a SOPMOD stock and $80 for a GI style stock. I like LMT but their stocks are over priced and their 2 stage triggers have two much take up.

            >I thought B5 took over that contract?
Crane designed the stock and both companies were chosen to produce it. Neither is more original or real than the other.

Or you could get a real one from B5 for $60.

Everybody replaces DD stocks and grips. Sometimes the sights and usually the mags. You want DD for their bolt and BCG as well as their barrel. Their newest offerings have ambi lowers but they're like $2200 right now since they just released. Centurion makes good barrels and bolts, even handguards too - if you're looking for a quadrail you'll run a DD, a Centurion, a LaRue. KAC handguards are in demand too but fuck that. Since you like monolithic uppers, try to get a pre-move LMT. Preferably a piston since thst makes it actually unique compared to everything else. To answer your original question, yes that is a great price for a DDM4. Most get the Brownells $700 on sale special for the upper, it's usually about 1100 for the non-stripped one and use whatever lower they want. I'm partial to CM4 lowers and Andersons. Aero enforced the vaxx so you shouldn't support them even after they knew it wasn't needed or did anything in the first place.

You won't go wrong with DD, they are def probably my favorite gun manufacturer, I don't have any KACs but all my ARs are DD minus a PSA build I did a longggggg time ago.

Aight cool, my ARs are PSA, old Bushmonster, WolfA1 on a PSA and Delton on a CMMG.
Figured it was about time to get something that is not a Franken build and not a fixed iron rifle.
