CZ97 clones?

Is the Baby Eagle seriously the last vaguely Jericho looking 45 with a steel frame?
The actual cz97 b was discontinued and the Jericho in 45 is discontinued.

I didn't see any steel framed Witnesses in 45 with the flush/ jericho/97b design of slide.

Am I missing anything? I dislike the rail on the BE, but not so much I wouldn't consider it if it was the only option

That is odd, why is that?

I don't know. Seems weird that they'd discontinue the normal ones but keep the CA-compliant ones, but they are. Maybe they just got tired of making two different SKUs and kept the CA one as the only one.

Is there really much difference between them, since its already a ten round magazine?

It's not like they can get another gun on the ca roster so if it's on there it can potentially have part of a captured market. The rest of the world has access to better options but ca buyers don't if they want to pay retail prices.

this is false and i wish people would stop repeating it.
what happened is that the CZ-USA website still contains, on the CZ 97 product page, the following sentence:
      >Due to the nature of the California DOJ Handgun Roster, we still make an older version of the 97 B specifically for the California market.
This statement has been on the CZ 97 page for years, and simply reflects the fact that, when the pistol was in production, they made two "versions," so that one version could be updated with minor changes (dewienerer model, new sights, grips). they gave this version a new SKU, and it is not California-compliant. the original, unchanged version continued to be grandfathered in to the California roster. the CZ website sentence merely above reflected this fact while the pistol was in production; it has nothing to do with the 97's current general production status. CZ-USA has not deleted or changed the 97's product page except to add "Discontinued" to the product name (it can still be found by searching for it, but is no longer linked in the CZ website navigation). Due to the confusion of the meaning of the sentence quoted above, clueless people assumed and then confidently stated that it is still being produced for California (think it through - how would this even make sense?). Since this assumption is then repeated by people who have no firsthand knowledge of the subject but are themselves merely parroting others' assumptions, this falsehood continues to be propagated on the internet. But be assured, the 97 is gone, unless CZ decides to put it back into production (unlikely).

I have a Stock I. The ergonomics fit me well, the weight makes recoil a non-issue and it's more accurate than I am.

I'm actually not sure how strong of a design the 97 is. I don't think it's as tough as a usp, but I could be wrong.

IIRC they can handle 10mm with slight modification, so .45 super should be fine with a new recoil spring. Take that with a lump of salt though.
