The trigger isn't as good as you'd expect (it's kinda bad), and if you get the dewienerer version, dryfiring will damage your gun. It's comfy and pairs well with a tlr-7.

>if you get the dewienerer version, dryfiring will damage your gun
This is not related to it being a dewienerer model. All CZ 75 variants with a drop safety have a weakass firing pin retention roll-pin.
The solution to this that I came to was:
1. Use the CGW retention roll-pin thingy (this was a few bucks and I was already buying some springs to lighten the DA pull)
2. Use a 5 cent 0-ring for dry-firing.
I got one on a whim and honestly it's not worth the $660 I paid for it. Trigger is bad, fitting feels a bit shoddy, and the finish is only okay. I didn't like the stock grips either, and changed them out, but it didn't help as much as I thought it would. It's not the worst hand gun I've ever owned, but I wouldn't pay a dollar over $400 for one.
Yeah they’re definitely poorly machined and have a reputation for rusting. So if you’re into amateur restoration this is the gun for you lol. If you can’t tell, it’s a piece of shit.
Inside the barrel, on the unfinished portions of the slide or internals, anywhere they get normal wear and tear. The finish is an absolute joke. Not even salty, I’ve owned a lot of guns. I’ve also owned a p10c that has had numerous problems. I’ve probably told these stories 100 times on here. I wanted to like cz but they’re kinda dogshit
Nope. I got the p-07 though, which is the polymer clone. Great gun. I imagine the p-01 is similarly great. Double action is a little creaky. Single action is fine as any. Ergonomics sights and accuracy are very good.
Its one of the most heavily tested to military standards pistols you could choose documentation is everywhere online. What the frick is wrong with you you stupid fricking b***h you don't know how to fricking google something? Can you not type its name into youtube or something? Did you think garandfrick was lurking here and you expected him to write up a review just for you or something? Frick you. This isn't reddit, frick your life this isn't your blog. There is a handgun general a questions that don't deserve their own thread thread for fricking stupid little shit like you and this. Frick you.
see the nato test is full of shit cause there isnt one. there really isnt a pistol test or qualification. its just they issue item and that item gets a number. they act like cz had to earn it when a nato numbers on fricking everything. yeah this is the official nato coffee mug. the whole things a marketing puff piece that morons parrot endlessly to feel better about it.
got one last year. >stock grips
suck >cz metal grips
dont fricking fit right which is hilarious >g10 grips from a 3rd party
VZ grips fit, other brands weren't even close. I've given up on the idea of finding good grips for this, CZ doesn't seem to make the wood grips I really want anymore. >sights
stock were little steel sights with tiny uneven dabs of glow in the dark paint, they're a fricking joke. dawsons were better made but the tritium tubes offered were way too small, the contrast ring actually made the front sight way harder to see, and were overall a bad option in dim lighting until the scene was dark enough that the tritium could be easily picked up. replaced them with fibers and they're easier to see in all conditions. I still dont really like them much because the real estate ontop of the slide is so limited you can't put anything large on it. want an optic? lmao go frick yourself. >trigger
not great for the price out of the box, but with ~400 bucks in cajun trigger parts it becomes quite nice. worth it? no. for the price ultimately paid here I could have gotten something cool like a p229 or another carry pistol with ammo to practice. >fit
fits fine, hardly any slide rattle >reliable?
so far? my glock 19 has a lower bore axis, is not much lighter and it shoots smoother so I shoot it more. go figure. >accurate?
with a cajun pro kit in single action it fricking better be >finish?
is wearing out faster than my glock's and I shoot it at least 3 times as much. also the frame isn't fully finished, internal is raw.
if you like the look of the gun, I know why, but I'm gonna ruin it for you with pic related. it's a portion of the slide that comes the factory with it's finish worn off, and sticks out like a sore thumb because sig was too lazy to blend it with the frame geometry. >ergos?
the grip is ok but lol trigger bite. cajun trigger reduces it to tolerable levels but its still fricking weird to deal with. also the slide design in indefensible.
I agree with all these sentiments. I had a P-01 omega and PCR. Both started rusting from daily carry almost immediately and I’m religious about lubricating my pistols with anti corrosion oil. Both had an average of 10 malfunctions the first 1000 rounds. Both had 147gr rounds get stuck in the chamber for throat so bad I had to take them to gunsmiths.. come to find out they’re only reamed to CIP specifications. Still had trouble with 124gr nato ball. I traded the P-01 for a revolver on a loss and gave the PCR to my noguns dad. I gave him 115gr standard pressure gold dots. I would not shoot anything or trust anything heavier than 115 grains in these pistols. The only thing I will say is that after 3000 rounds the PCR trigger has broken in very nicely. I’ve still debated just taking the gun back from my dad and buying him a blue label 19 because I’m not entirely sure it’ll be reliable and he’s not well trained enough to deal with malfunctions. Idk. They’re just bad pistols.
>I really like the looks of this pistol
Most everyone agrees they look nice and are comfy AF but the trigger and slide height are the two things that turn people off the most.
Just go to a gun store and handle it, try trigger, rack slide, manipulate controls and then make your decision.
Does anyone know if the walking dewienerer issue on the Omegas was ever actually solved? I've had a hard time getting a concrete answer to that. And was it ever an issue when it was swapped to a safety?
They’re great for malfunction drills. Don’t even try running anything heavier than 124gr in them. Also awesome if you’re an amateur gunsmith and want to completely strip it every 5000 rounds to replace all the springs.
Yeah they’re definitely poorly machined and have a reputation for rusting. So if you’re into amateur restoration this is the gun for you lol. If you can’t tell, it’s a piece of shit.
Spot the salty Glockgay, you probably don't even own a cz.
Not him but cz 75s are extremly picky about cartrige overall length. Its possible whatever brands of 147 he bought exceeded that and he assumed all 147 doesnt work.
was it forced by reddit? wtf i could've sworn it was forced by glockgays. idunno. anyways, czs are meh. shit finish though unfortunately. I unironically love the stock rubber grip.
Yup. 75b used to be one of the most recommended guns on /k/ and then PrepHole was flooded with Redditors after gamergate and they brought their stale memes with them.
I definitely remember the 75b being recommended. It was on a couple of the infographs and i believe the poorgay guides to pistols as well. Pretty much why the reason i bought my first sp01
It’s okay
It has/had a lot of hype but I didn’t like the thumb webbing bite … it’s basically a central European border guard sidearm not a high volume range commando custom g19/g17
I'm surprised people here dislike theirs so much. I have a few thousand through mine and it'd been very reliable. Only a few failures to feed after having not cleaned it in over 1k rounds. A quick cleaning and oiling and it was back to normal. It's more comfortable and less snappy than my Glock 17 with a better trigger. I can't shoot it as accurately as I can my 92fs but it fits my hand the best out of any of my handguns and is very pointable. I can reliably hit half gallon milk jugs at 25yds with it so it's more than accurate enough for carry. Mine is all stock except for some grippier grips and I'm fine with keeping it that way.
The CZ is the one I've been most drawn to and most of the issues I've read like the dryfiring seem to be pretty easy fixes. I don't like strikers too much(just personal preference) which is why I want a hammer-fired. I also looked a bit into Beretta's Px4 Compact but I've heard it has a crappier trigger and the CZ has a ton of aftermarket.
The issue isnt that small parts break and are easy to replace. Its that they randomly fail and lock the gun up. You cant predict when shit fails only that it will fail if you keep using it. Other brands are like this part breaks at 5k so you can keep track and replace when needed. Cz is anywhere from 0 to 5k lol good luck.
Trigger return spring and the roll pin that stops the firing pin are main culprits.
Lower priority items are the recoil springs mag springs and extractor springs. Cz just sucks dick at spring consitency.
dryfiring fricks the rollpin but the trs can break at any moment.
Anonymous
From what I've seen, TRS breaking is from excessive use of double-action(common when dryfiring), since the pistol is designed for your first shot to be DA and everything after to be SA.
This only happens with excessive dry fire, the average user won't have an issue.
When dry-firing, I've read and its been said in the thread that all you need is a rubber o-ring to keep it from damaging the roll pin
>Beretta's Px4 Compact but I've heard it has a crappier trigger
The only issue with the Px4's trigger is maybe that its reset is a bit long, but I'd by no means say it's "bad." It's also not hard to improve it from what I hear.
Langdon's PX4 trigger kit is literally drop in and changes it to like a 7-7.5lb DA with a 3-3.5lb SA with an insanely short reset. Ignore Beretta's "competition" trigger kit because it's not that much of an improvement, and also avoid the aftermarket steel trigger as it's not made by Beretta and there have been widely documented durability issues with them.
Owned one for 3 months. Trigger is unfortunately not very good. As it's another metal frame SA/DA handgun I was expecting it to feel similar to my Beretta's, but the factory Beretta triggers shit all over what CZ can make appearantly. I don't miss it.
I bought one in 2012, it was my first ever handgun.
The trigger isn't great, even in single action it's got a lot of creep/slack.
The night-sight paint they put on the factory sights is a joke.
The mag spring on one of my three mags is weak, but still feeds no problem.
That's all the negatives I can think of.
The inside of the frame isn't coated with paint, which bothers some people.
It's an aluminum alloy frame though, so it got hardcoat anodized clear before painting, so I don't know why that should be a concern.
The slide has smaller seration height so some people find it problematic to rack because they're used to large chunky Glock slides. Once again, it was my first handgun, so that doesn't really bother me because I've racked the slide a thousand times.
Those are my grey/"meh" area observations.
I have somewhere around 14-15k rounds through mine. It has failed to fire probably ten times, all of those with Aguila 115, where the heavy roll crimp/canyonesque gouge they put in the outside of the case would get hung up on the feed ramp. It was literally one box of ammo that caused all my malfs total.
I've never once held a pistol that fits my hand as naturally as the P01. The Czechs must have a motherfricker on the design team that is my hand doppelganger, it's incredible. Because of this, to this day I'm faster on target, faster split times, and more accurate with the p01 than with my g19 or any other semi auto I own.
I clean and maintain it the same as my other pistols, and I've never had a problem with it once. To this day it's my favorite, out of all the guns I've ever handled.
If you told me I could only have one handgun for the rest of my life to cover all bases it would probably be the P01.
That might sound a bit CZ faboyish but it's literally the only CZ I own, I just really like it a lot anon.
It's been my edc for may years, only additional things I changed was sights and a threaded barrel, I also polished the shit out of the trigger so now it's barely even a 1lbs pull
Sounds like people got lemons cause my shit never rusted and never had a malfunction outside of shooting wet-then-dried 1000 124gr ammo I picked up for 45$. I also shoot super spicy rounds no issue, 2k fps types.
youll change your mind a decade from now if you regularly shoot it. cz has a honeymoon period that an average shooter will never leave. simply cause the average shooter doesnt shoot. when that honeymoon ends and she hits the wall hard you are stuck with constant upkeep.
Already got 7k rds through it, and that's after getting a the threaded barrel, on factory I did 4k no issues. I've literally had this since 2007, and edc with it since 2010. I also own p09 and a p10, I have had issues with the p10 but I attribute it to bad ammo as I tend to be really fricking jank shit for range time and save my good shit for pd.
I also own a few fn's, sig's and just copped a eaa witness 10mm.
That is a pretty fair point to make.
The P01 is a great "all around" gun if you're only going to buy one pistol for all tasks, but there are better options for any specific purpose.
I've had one since 2014, and it's probably the best option for a "do everything" handgun that isn't a polymer striker fire.
Accurate, concealable, customizable.
It really is one of CZ's best products.
I'd recommend replacing the stock sights with dawson or cz custom shop ones though.
Nah, go straight for an optic cut, it's 2022
The trigger isn't as good as you'd expect (it's kinda bad), and if you get the dewienerer version, dryfiring will damage your gun. It's comfy and pairs well with a tlr-7.

No, I refuse
Just embrace stupid thick and get a Jericho.
if he doesn't like the cz75 why would he like a israeli copycat
Had mine since 2015. It's great. Must be close to 4k rounds through it by now. No issues.
How does the P07 compare to this? I like polymer, just not a fan of striker fired guns
I haven't shot a P-01, but I have a P-07 and really like it.
