more importantly do you think you could successfully engage a pack of scientifically accurate velociraptors?

man I wish Capcom would just fucking make a Dino Crisis in the RE Engine.

I think once you started shooting they'd be scared off, especially if you're making hits and dropping them. They're still animals and they will fear loud booming explosions and death like any other.

Yes, scientifically accurate velociraptors are not that dangerous against someone armed since they were animals and would be scared of anything loud dropping one of them instantly, but with the added situation that they were very similar to birds, so instead of angry lizards you better think of them as just turkeys with teeth

At this point why are you not just emulating them? I made a point of playing every version of RE1 a while ago and it was a lot of fun but boy fucking howdy were some of them rough, the Japanese removed auto-aim from some international releases to discourage vidya rentals and it made hunters a goddamn nightmare.

Shit, I remember the original non-DC RE1 without auto-aim. Anything fast fucked me over hard. I still beat the game with Jill.

And yes emulation seems to be the way to go these days. Get to try all the shit you never had the money for back in the old days.

They have hollow bones and are not very heavy (compared to a human) but have very dangerous claws teeth, are fast , have free forelimbs to shaped to hold onto you, and hunt in packs.
      >Some 12 gauge automatic

      >an smg i
      9mm,40short and weak, 45 acp, 5,7mm, 4,6mm should work well nuff (mp5 , mp5 K, mp7, p 90, KRISS vector),

      >308 would recoil too much for quick followup shots at a pack, since they use stealth and pack tactics, are short enough to hide in the tall grass they will likely be very close if you need to engage.
PPE might also be a good idea ,
Protect your back , neck and nape at the very least. tall backpack a helmet with an avantail and something akin chainmail on the neck or bodyarmor collars,
      >a sturdy set of Riot armor ought to work if its made with stabs in mind

      >pic kindoff related
Some dinos were probably warmblooded (it had to appear eventually) so thermals might work
.This is speculation but bright flashlights and flares to scare them off, and If there are other dinos you might want a BIGGER GUN,
      > 10 gauge shotgun with slugs

      >12gauge with a 3,5 inch chamber and loaded with 3,5 inch slugs (get lightfield to make them again !!!, 4000ish ftlbs of energ and a 0,72 cal projectile/18,5 ish mm) ,

shit utahraptor, i made an upsie. utah is 600 lbs, its late. fuk,
still hollow bones so an smg/556/ shotguns should shatter those bones relatively easily , just bump the buckshot up a bit t at least 0, if not 00 / 000 .

Dick size is inversely proportional to canine size. Gorillas have massive canines, but only a 2 inch slong, while ducks have no canines and 15+ inch long dicks.

A 400 kg theropod will not be able to bear as much weight as a 400 kg horse, never mind the fact that the 5-600 kg estimates for Utahraptor are wildly optimistic and outdated, with 300 kg being the far more reasonable estimate of maximum size. Imagine 1000 kg weight class theropods as mounts, like Appalachiosaurus, Ceratosaurus, or Aerosteon, instead.

A hollow bone can carry a lot of weight for its density but is prone to snapping (compared to denser bones) when damaged. Utah raptor is a
Very large, dangerous , pack ambush predators (a lot of them up close) but fragile for their weightclass
A smoll calibre automatic (smg, 556, ) or a shotgun aproach might keep you alive by breaking theim into immobility but not instakilling them although it is possible (by braining them). Since they run in pack you will have to take out multiple potentially so a whippy low recoil gat might do the trick,
Smg can carry the most ammo for the least bulk and/or weight, shotgun does well with moving targets and hitting multiple structures , and a 556 can still carry lotsa ammo (not as much as an smg) and is very controllable and effective. Since you might need to carry other bigger gats, having a smoll caliber might be a good idea. A 12g 3,5 inch chamber can also (pottentially) use 3,5 inch slugs (rare nowdays because i think they are out of production) and some potent buckshot, if somebody makes tss buckshot / or an equivalent it might not be a bad idea to use that
A 308 /its equivalents/ bigger shit automatic might be sufficient ,but it seems too cumbersome to use in tall grass, in the bush ecc and will followup shots be quick enough? . i do not know never hunted a 600lbs hollow boned pack predator biped before.
556, 40sw,9mm, buckshot might not be the most humane way of taking them out but besides sniping them (not always possible) it might be practical should if you need to cull a lot of them or defend yourself while doing something else.
          However
if you have your own theory about the fantasy scenario(invasive species, timefuckery, evil furry/scaly scientists scenario ecc.) please share,
          >especially if it involves Regina impaled on MUH DICK, curing my yellow fever in the process.

I only meant to say that the reference to hollow bones in regards to the usefulness of 5.56 might be superfluous, considering solid bones wouldn't hold up any better.

              Anonymous

What i was trying to do i justify smg and shotgun use /Many low energy projectiles. If the utah raptor had normally dense bones there might be a decent chance that bones that get hit with buck/pistol cals stay functional (example there is a hole in the femur /or a "nick " on it but the leg still carries weight) and you still get chomped on.

there is 0, I repeat. z e r o evidence in any kind of raptor of any sort of group behaviour. outside of some group feeding in deinonychus which is not the same as packhunting. most likely any dromesaurid is going to be like a roadrunner who would target things smaller then itself.
