comp too flashy/loud

I was shooting my 14.5 pin and weld at the range and it seems a little loud and rowdy. It doesn't have much recoil but it was pretty crazy even during the day time. Is this a tactical disadvantage? It's the BCM comp mod 1

BCM brakes are so awful they phased them out of the 16" mid length uppers. Yours is pinned and welded on, but I think you can still remove it without damaging the muzzle thread— though you might have to destroy the brake

Which one the fuck is it? Inb4 “you don’t have full auto”, you can press the trigger fast, do you think you will be able to get faster and more accurate follow shots at the same range with less recoil or more?

            >full auto on .223 is useless because it has too much recoil!!!!
The problem is muzzle rize, notice there aren't brakes/compensators on machine guns? That's because their weight mitigates the recoil— if your meme fork is keeping the muzzle leveler, it's because of all its weight ahead of the crown

            >Gov't Profile
            Nope, medium.

Oh— well... the profile is still pointless. Barrel profile is no substitute for quality steel and cartridges

I shoot suppressed, the extra weight and rigidity goes a long way.

              >He thinks a Surefire Warcomp doesn’t reduce muzzle rise
Newsflash gay, the recoil reduction on the Warcomp results in a massive reduction in muzzle rise.
              >all its weight ahead of the crown
moron you are not going to halve the muzzle movement on an 8+ lb AR by adding a device that weighs less than 2 ounces more than an A2 at the end of the barrel, that is not why the Warcomp reduces recoil.

Are you some kind of retard? A heavier barrel profile given the same “quality steel and cartridges” will still reduce heat dispersion and increase stiffness.

I have that comp as well, I usually wear ear plugs + Sordins.

If the flash bothers you get the Surefire 3 prongs https://www.surefire.com/products/suppressors-division/muzzle-devices/3p-eliminator/

pinning and welding a flash hider is just retard tier. unless you just already had a 14.5, a 16 is already plenty short and let's you mount whatever you want without ruining your barrel.

So is the bcm comp/surefire comp worth it over the a2?

      >BCM comp worth it over the A2
Not really tbh. You'll get a slight reduction in muzzle rise, but not 1/10th of the muzzle rise. It also has no advantage over the A2 as a suppressor host for those few cans that mount to the A2 device
      >Surefire comp worth it over the A2
Yes, IF you're going to get a surefire suppressor (you should, unless you can find/afford KAC)
But I'm just a random on the internet. If the BCM logo is worth an extra $90 and increased muzzle flash to you, go for it

Even with the surefire can, I'd recommend their flash hider over their comp

          Close tine flash hider

So what's the best one if I'm not planning for a suppressor?

Basically that. The A2 is really good at flash reduction and not bad at compensating for muzzle rise, while it only costs $10
If you're dead set on a p&w 14.5, BCM does make an A2X I think it's called which brings you up to the legal lengths

      >BCM Comp
      No

      >Surefire Brake
Yes for a dedicated suppressor host
No if you don’t shoot suppressed at all unless you’re just fucking around

      >Surefire Warcomp
      Yes for unsuppressed shooting
Not ideal for full time suppressor use, that capability is just there so you can slap a can on in a pinch and then QD it once you don’t require it

Surefire 3P if you switch regularly between suppressed and unsuppressed

JP FH (or White Sound Defense FOSSA but it seems you can’t fucking find them anymore) if you primarily shoot unsuppressed but would rather have less flash than the recoil mitigation effects of the Warcomp.

Unless you have a need for a non-Surefire suppressor, the above muzzle devices will suit you well as alternatives/upgrades to the A2 depending on your situation and application.

bcm muzzle devices are maybe the worst in the industry. you will have to go to a smith to remove it and p&w a new one. you can dremel it off yourself if you are confident you wont fuck up your barrel
