New export licenses for commercial firearms and ammunition will be paused (with exemptions for Ukraine, Israel, other allies).

What are they building up to?

My first reaction to this was

    >oh no, now I won’t be able to buy…

And couldn’t come up with something. There are no good US produced firearms. Glock, Beretta, HK, none of them are US companies.

Starting to think about total dogshit companies like SIG and yeah, they can keep their shit.

Glocks, Beretta, HK and Sig are all manufactured in the U.S., as well as abroad. Retard.

yeah, that's why he said he doesn't mourn the loss of US guns or ammo. The euros get the same guns but better and usually cheaper
and ammo costs the same after shipping it over the sea so they don't care about that either.

Euro sig vs American sig is night and day, HK USA is overpriced garbage that performs to a fraction of HK Europe, all the bespoke handgun manufacturers are in Europe, ect. The US is the bare bottom of acceptability for firearms if you only count domestic guns, which is fine but if imports were opened up most US manufacturers would either cease to exist or become import houses.

sig sauer is most defunct, and SIG is a wholly different company with different products, HK is actually just autistic garbage riding on the legacy roller delay weapons that weren't even their design, and bespoke artisanal shit can be found here too, you're just either too poorfag, too euro, or both to know that.

American gun manufacturers are absolutely garbage, just like American manufacturing in general. There's a reason everything moves overseas and it isn't just money. Americans are too stupid to perform skilled labor.

You’re dumb as shit. Let me know when the entirety of jet engines are fully made overseas for American jets that are sold domestically and internationally. That’s just one industry there’s others.

Yeah, but I want quality, pre-trained American workers at Guatemalan prices. It's Americans' faults for being dumb and gay that I can't have that.

Except we dont. Our guns go exclusively to governemnt institutions. We can only own handguns and hunting rifles trough legthy process that also forbids to use them in range or carry unless you're body guards, money transporter or equally justified reason.

But that is not the topic of this thread. Guns being exported OUT of the US is the topic that OP presented. We still will have access to foreign imports and all the weapons being made here. This affects Americans absolutely zero.

halting EXPORT means more supply on the market domestically, you're retarded but half right that it's not panic news or anything.

Huh. Looks like they’re trying to keep exported guns away from criminals and terrorists and shit (besides Israel of course)

The ATF just got busted doing another fast and furious, it's political theater, the only pool of material that we buy from that they also rely on was lake city.

lmao WW3 against who? Russia managed to absolutely disgrace itself by fighting to stalemate against Ukraine that while dependent on western systems had to have them slow dripped to it for 2 years now, China saw that and promptly stopped rattling the saber against Taiwan after realizing what a dumb idea that is, south america is just doing it's own derpy thing it's always been doing and largely self contained, the middle east has ancestral grudges to an art but they all hate each other so beyond sending arms to random 'non state entities' to troll each other they won't pop off. Iran isnt going to do shit, Saudis aren't going to do shit, India is too busy shitting to do shit.

The multipolar world is a meme, it's pretty much still the US and the distant second is China and they have the sense to just play the long game and make money.

I think all of the shitholes nations of the world are soon to lose there shit and start fighting each other. Things are just so unstable with Russia fucking up the way it has in Ukraine and China not handling COVID as well as they should have that things in the second and third world are being forced to change whether the people that live in those shit holes like it or not.

The US is probable just stockpiling guns and ammo so as to guard the borders for the shit storm that may blow thru.

turns out that you can never underestimate the average chinaman's ability to eat govt. shit and smile because they are pretty stable where they are. the third world has always been a shit hole so who cares and the second world is happy as always to get whatever scraps fall their way. it looks like more of the same in the coming economic cycle but in another 10 years or so we'll see if the patches made by govts in the wake of covid hold up at all (they probably won't)

Russian propaganda wants it to be called a stalemate, but Russia is losing more men per day than they have been since day 1-5 of the war. This is hardly a stalemate.

Sure but Russians don't care about their people, you can literally hear it whenever they shout with glee that they got another 100 meters (at the expense of thousands of dead) they only care about what color the maps are and how they are singlehandedly defeating the entirety of NATO. It's bizzare to watch but through a lack of stated goals I can only draw conclusions from their actions and pretty much it's to grab a chunk of eastern Ukraine at tremendous cost both in lives, treasure, militarily and economically and then ???

if any it increases domestic supply in the short term, if the impacted entities decide/are able to sell the affected stock. Most are probably contractual arrangements, so they will just sit for 90 days before shipment, assuming its not extended.

That's pretty weird, they've never done that on such a sweeping coverage of countries before.

    article[1]. also probably relevant[2]:

    >2023-10-24 | Reuters | NVIDIA SAYS U.S. SPEEDED UP NEW EXPORT CURBS ON AI CHIPS
Oct 24 (Reuters) - Chip designer Nvidia (NVDA.O) said new U.S. export curbs on the sale of its high-end artificial intelligence chips to China came into effect on Monday as regulators advanced the deadline.
The restrictions were supposed to come into play 30 days from Oct. 17 when the Biden administration unveiled measures to stop countries, including China, Iran and Russia, from receiving advanced AI chips designed by Nvidia and others.

my guess is that there are a bunch of FINCEN or arms grey-market tracking guys in the US govt who've suddenly found themselves empowered to kick the shit out of one of the major smuggling networks

Didn't they find some cheapo Nvidia shape recognition stuff in captured/downed Lancets?
That would definitely cause some govt people go have a stern talk with ol' Jen-Hsun.

tbh kinda interesting, the lake city halt on civilian ammo sales was reasonably explainable as typical dem bullshit of inconveniencing firearms owners, this export bans a little more interesting particularly given that context. I mean it could just be more of the same but given the timing relative to whats going on in the ME right now its actually a bit concerning

or you know, a small but significant percentage that is going to Ukraine or other regions from the US is being diverted, or just a part of the 80 billion or so in military equipment we left behind with the Taliban.

Duude. Russian equivalent of AR-15.com forum sold tons of ITAR controled stuff (sights mostly) long before Ukrainian happening. It's literally contraband via proxies.
