Coming from an FDE Kershaw assisted open that I've had for ~10 years, need recommendations for a new EDC pocket knife to change it up. Was thinking about pick-related or the single-edged version just because I like the gimmicky opening meme, but idk what I what. My Kershaw is great, but I have some cash to burn and feel like getting something new.
Here's an image for this image board as tribute.
thats a terrible image, anon
I apologize, here's a less gay, less bad image.
chilling
Wtf is wrong with you?
Knife.
Microtech LUDT
It completely shits on most other OTS autos
Been using th Benchmade casbah at work for the last couple of years and it's been great. Only $160 on bladehq.
>buying from a company that donates to demorats and cuts up guns
>telling strangers what to spend their money on because muh feefees are ouchie
gay
Suck that butterfly dick, anon.
SUCK IT.
Top kek.
What a homosexual, all the politicians in your country are the same.
fag
Does anyone know if Benchmade and Kershaw are comparable in quality. Place I buy my shit doesn't carry Benchmade.
Kershaw is really solid. Especially for the price. A Kershaw Iridium is $65 and gives the average Benchmade a real run for its money. Obviously the steel is worse on the Kershaw, but steel is mostly a meme for most people.
>but steel is mostly a meme for most people.
not if you use your knife daily. my benchmade stays sharp a hell of a lot longer than my coworkers who just carry bullshit knives. they're having to resharpen them weekly while i send mine to benchmade to be sharpened once a year.
D2 works just fine. Also, the bugout is a piece of shit knife with a bendy plastic frame that benchmade wants $170 for. The Kershaws are half that and for 99% of people and 99% of uses will do just as well for less than half the cost.
Kershaw and CRKT are my go to for pocket blades.
>if Benchmade and Kershaw are comparable in quality
Yes
super happy to see the Axis lock spreading so far and wide. It really is a superior action and benchmade kept it exclusive long enough
>Boot status: Licked
>Benchmade casbah
>spear point
>push button
>butterfly logo
>discontinued
>$160 dollareedoos
hnnnngh I want it but i'm gonna get the auto FACT first that thing is sexolicious
That is the ugliest knife I have ever seen in my life.
That is a fugly knife.
i own one
I used it for a few months,
it hasn't left my drawer since
its just a meme, its too big for EDC.
>its just a meme, its too big for EDC.
Stop wearing girl pants, homosexual.
Can you demonstrate closing that knife safely?
You pinch the two black buttons and the handle spreads open and the blade drops inside. Very easy to close with gravity, its not spring loaded. Its a stupid knife for other reasons but that part works fine i guess.
lmao, thats a chinese copy
you can tell because the logo is a fucking sticker and the S30v marking on the blade is painted on with sharpie
fat fuck have a nice day
The warlock is a fucking brick, its ludicrously huge.
If modern stiletto is what you want, consider the following:
>picrel
>filename
been living in my pocket for a while now and its handy for the most part
> $400 plus tax and tip
Ganzo Samson. Relatively cheap and just as fast as an OTF because of the knockoff wave pocket dingus.
Sexy
>he doesn't buy the cheapest Kershaw or CRKT at Walmart
NGTMI
The last several times I bothered to look at their selection all they ever had was shitty buck slipjoints and a couple mall ninja style kershaw (I still bought one)
Automatic knives are illegal to carry in many places. What I don't understand is how do they favor the attacker in any way. If you are going to attack someone with a knife you have ample time to prepare and use any type of knife for the crime. Automatic knives don't provide any advantage for the attacker, the logic here favors someone who deploys it defensively. So the automatic knife ban is to make self defense less effective and to help knife criminals attack people.
The rationale seems to have been an attempt to differentiate traditional utilitarian pocket knives from the scary gang knives lawmakers saw on television.
>So the automatic knife ban is to make self defense less effective and to help knife criminals attack people.
anarcho-tyranny
it goes back to the 50's when criminals favored them and the laws were written to help the police arrest them and they've just stayed on the books ever since. luckily for me michigan repealed the switchblade law several years back and i immediately bought a few. i'll never go back to a non-auto knife now.
Pennsylvania did too but you can't buy the friggin' things online because laws still prohibit them crossing state lines.
This is not legal advice but other then one or two fuddy knife shops that ask for police or military IDs most of the big knife websites just make you read a scary warning and then ship them to you no questions asked. They don't put a big sticker on the box that says "this is a federally controled switchblade knife" or anything like that. You think these knife sites are selling hundreds of microtech otf knifes a week for "the purposes of military or law enforcement procurement"?
>big knife websites just make you read a scary warning
NOT OPTICS PLANET MOTHERFUCKERS.
>NOT OPTICS PLANET MOTHERFUCKERS.
Theirs is just as bad as the rest of them
>OPTICS PLANET
guaranteed fakes, they are one of the biggest knockoff resellers in the game. If you can find it on wish.com it is 100% being sold on optice planet.
not just knives, basically anything they resell, if it has a chink clone, that is what you're getting
>but you can't buy the friggin' things online because laws still prohibit them crossing state lines.
That's not true at all. You could order switchblades online without issue even when they weren't legal to carry in PA. Whoever told you that is retarded.
A bunch of knife websites have this scary warning saying its illegal to ship switchblades across state lines unless you are a procurement officer for the police or military. And then they happily ship the fat guy with the big truck his 25th collectable microtech.
U.S. Code Title 15 Commerce and Trade
Chapter 29 – Manufacture, Transportation, or Distribution of Switchblade Knives
Commonly referred to as the “Federal Switchblade Act,” it was passed by Congress on August 12, 1958, enacted as Public Law 85-623, an “act to prohibit the introduction, or manufacture for introduction, into interstate commerce of switchblade knives, and for other purposes.”
More specifically:
§ 1242. Introduction, manufacture for introduction, transportation or distribution in interstate commerce; penalty
Whoever knowingly introduces, or manufactures for introduction, into interstate commerce, or transports or distributes in interstate commerce, any switchblade knife, shall be fined not more than $2,000 or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.
This law only prohibits introducing, manufacturing, transporting or distributing switchblades if doing so is part of a business transaction and that transaction crosses over state or territory lines, or the knives are coming from a foreign country. The law has no effect on selling within the same state, no effect on carry and no effect on possession alone except where it is expressly prohibited (§ 1243).
This section has been interpreted to prohibit the use of imported parts for the manufacture of switchblade knives in the U.S. and a number of enforcement actions have been taken on this basis over the years.
Im not totally up on my legalese but this seems to have nothing to do with buyers, seems like this is microtechs problem, or knifecenters problem, but not the buyers problem.
>“Federal Switchblade Act,”
autos are legal in almost every state with only some having retarded resctritions like CA' 2" rule, and literally nobody has been prosecuted under the FSA for selling across state lines in like 40 years, its a non issue
they are just playing CYA and using it as an excuse to do some tacticool marketing as a bonus.
>autos are legal in almost every state with only some having retarded resctritions like CA' 2" rule,
In massachusetts you can only carry a switchblade if you have lost the use of one arm iirc
My freedoms mean enough to me that I would willingly amputate my arm(s) to carry a switchblade. Get on my level, pussies.
>In massachusetts you can only carry a switchblade if you have lost the use of one arm iirc
nani
totally legal unlike CA
you can scare anyone with anything, and if you repeat it often enough in the right way to the right target audience, eventually you'll get exactly what you wanted despite any realities.
So now every state has to have switchblade laws to invalidate a federal switchblade law, and everyone treats a stupid spring-powered opener as some magic death machine, even though none of it makes any sense or passes the muster of logic.
Button stilettos, I can understand, because you could concievably walk up to someone with it hidden in your palm/sleeve, and just push the button when you put to their neck, and then walk away.
In any case, if you're one of those
>But it's the LAW!
people,
The US constitution has provisions for ignoring any laws that make no god damned sense, and restrictions on switchblades/assisted openers make no god damned sense, so fuck you and fuck the law.
>The US constitution has provisions for ignoring any laws that make no god damned sense, and restrictions on switchblades/assisted openers make no god damned sense, so fuck you and fuck the law.
Tell that to the judge, see how far it gets you.
Then we have bigger problems and I'll be remembered in a history book.
Stop being a fucking pussy.
100% you cry when you're put in the back of a cop car and accept a plea deal from the prosecutor when offered.
Why do you mock me while you admit you live in fear of the consequences of ridiculous rules nobody cares about?
>Illegally concealing a deadly weapon
I'm sure law enforcement will happily overlook such a minor crime.
I can use a spoon as a deadly weapon. I can tear your eyes out with my house keys. A pencil is as deadly as a knife.
Again, how retarded are you?
Will you eat the eyes you tear out? You are not the man I hoped you were.
Oh, I get it, you're retarded. Deadly weapon is a legal distinction you fucking fool. An illegal knife is by definition a deadly weapon, a spoon is not.
You'll be remembered in a history book for what? Buying a fuckin' switchblade online? You show them, you rebel. What a homosexual.
I see you know your judo well.
>ignoring any laws
No. The Law really should be respected and observed or we are a nation of chaos andcterror, not civilised men. Brittin my be tge most civilised country ever and should become only more civilized in the next 50 years. Can you imagine the paradise it will be when that day arrives? There will be no more victimization or prejudice.
Britain is turning into a globohomo shithole even faster than we are.
No, you have to be sober to have consent and enthusiastic. None of that...
>well, I geuss you can date rape me...
Wishy washy bullshit, you have to really mean it. That is peak civility!
>Button stilettos, I can understand, because you could concievably walk up to someone with it hidden in your palm/sleeve, and just push the button when you put to their neck, and then walk away.
Out the front knives don't really open with much force. They cant holepunch someone while deploying, and if they open into something that stops the blade it wont lock up and it just kind flops around.
Get a reate exo-m gravity knife
It will be your new favorite fidgit toy
Kershaw Launch 16.
>$400
>edc
You crazy.
I have one of these. Pockey clip sucks and is too pointy and thin. I'd upgrade that if you're going to get one.
Be careful these things are a meme, and will cut you easily if you are not proficient at opening them. You can get good, but I never tried much. It's also pretty damn bulky.
Personally, if I were you and had some money to burn on something like a pocket knife, I'd get the Benchmade 940-1. S90V that won't dull under normal use, like at all. It's super slim, lightweight but has a huge blade, and carbon fiber, good clip and the axis is fun to play with and it won't cut you if you mess up.
>pic related
>second from top
A fixed blade boot knife is better than a dago wop wop wop stiletto switchblade.
>Kershaw
Be careful. It'll choke in October and fall apart.
Assisted opening knives are a meme and gay.
>buck make assist open knives
Checkmate.
