He's right. Literally everyone has known for years now that switches and tailcaps can cause serious output problems with lights. Go ahead and try using a surefire switch some time, then activate the same light with a basic tailcap. The difference is very obvious.

The switch draws a significant amount of voltage away from the LED?

            >The switch draws a significant amount of voltage away from the LED
            It'd be amperage, wouldn't it?

It still bothers me as to why the switches are messing with the light output. I've witnessed it first hand, but I can't wrap my head around it if it's just a switch. That short of a wire and simple switch should not be messing with the voltage and current to such a degree.

I mean the simple answer is that the shitty switches have a higher resistance, but how do you frick up making a switch? Maybe they're cheaping on the contacts.

That's what I mean, it would have to be a monumentally moronic switch to be adding such a high resistance.

I know plenty about it. Please don't make me cut open my fricking surefire switches and check them with a multimeter you wienerface.

It's traveling a distance measured in inches. It shouldn't be losing any voltage, at all.

What among that makes you think that there's some kind of switch issue moroning the output? Lumen output is near the claimed. Outside of surefire, most companies exaggerate their output ratings. Modlite and Cloud Defensive both exaggerate their lux output for marketing.

          >pic related
The Malkoff/Ariska light claims 50k candela and the Modlite claims 69k.

            >What among that makes you think that there's some kind of switch issue moroning the output?
Because I can see it with my own two eyes.

See what? You see the lux test done? Do you even know what 70k of honest candela actually looks like or have you bought into marketing slop?

I neither know nor care since meme superfocused lights suck ass anyway. I'll be sticking to surefire.

Surefire makes high throw lights now. Have surefire fallen to the meme light category?

Absolutely, the turbo lights are very much meme lights. Thankfully they still make the regular DF lights.

The idea that high throw lights are meme lights is moronic my man. You're also moving the goal post for the argument. First your argument about the output getting fricked up by switches was debunked, now those lights are just meme lights and they don't really matter, so who cares if they lie about output. I don't even get what you're arguing for anymore.

because most people don't have a light integrating sphere to check.

Malkoff/Ariska is still the way to go for any kind of scout-type lights.
