Civil War 2.0

The Ukrainan countryside kind of resembles this area.

What kind of difficulty would the US government face fighting against it's own equipment and tactics in is own soil?

We'll have to establish bilateral trade because USG would have frozen all the state's funds.

I don't want a civil war. I want to be left alone. But if I am forced into a conflict against my will, the sheer horror, rage, savagery and brutality I'll bring to those who insist on disrupting my serenity will make the Mexican cartels look like a Sunday School class. And the first targets with extreme prejudice will be those with hair on their heads a color God and nature never intended to sprout from a human scalp.

    >be loyalist in missouri
    >get shot from 1000 yards
    >cleetus books it in to the ozarks
    >DEPLOY THE TANKS AND DRONES!
    >tree coverage is too thick for aerial observation
    >cleetus walks 100 miles in any direction
    >......
    >be loyalist
    >get shot
    >DEPLOY THE T----ACK
    Many such cases

it would be bloody for both sides. drones and attack helis have FLIR and more to find Cleetus and the rock he is hiding under. not to mention the U2 flights that spy on the US populace every single day that likely captured cleetus taking his shot
but the military wont fight its own people. this isnt iraq and bidumb isnt saddam.

FLIR and drones work well (sometimes) against a dumb raghead standing exposed in the middle of the desert.
They are much less effective if there are things like trees, buildings, clouds in the way.
The US military revolves around advanced, very high tech weaponry. That stuff will work well against other near peer militaries and absoy wrecking 3rd world shithole countries.
But all that equipment doesn't work as well for occupation and fighting insurgencies. The US has gotten better at this over the last 20+ years, but it still really requires boots on the ground. You need grunts standing on street corners with machine guns. And those guys are very vulnerable if you don't have enough of them.
As a rule of thumb, you need about 1 troop per 50 people in the local population. Even if the regime was able to somehow redeploy all of the US military from around the world and US law enforcement to fight against a domestic insurgency, they still wouldn't have nearly enough people. And in the real world, a significant number of them would defect and join the resistance.

I've heard theories that the states would find it hard to counter federal spooks because the states lack counterintelligence agencies like the FBI. In reality it's just police work. Police with expanded powers could handle internal security better than most national guard military intelligence units.

Zero difficulty. When our government fights us, they won't hold back like they have with every war since WWII. When the second revolution starts we will finally realize that all the other wars were just for show.

If there was a civil war, all the triggerpullers and people who actually know how to wage war would be on the side fighting against the regime.
The only people left in the military would be all the worthless trannies and fat nigresses and s0ihomosexuals who just sit at desks and push paper all day.

Only if there is a charismatic leader for them. The US Government would try to assassinate someone like that with a drone if they couldn't arrest them.

Which is why it is the job of every patriot to instill a spirit of resistance regardless whether there is a charismatic leader or not.
Odds are he would either be a collaborator like Trump or killed.

There won't be a civil war, glowie. You'll need to find a new job. Civil collapse exponentially more likely. Destitute individuals and semi organized mobs of destitute people will be the greatest danger you face.

Steppes are unbeliveable hard to defend. Rivers playing major role in defence. This is also reason why Russians move their border as far as it possible westwards. In case of invasion it would give them time. If potential force invades from Poland, (2000 km) they barely managed to save Moscow. If potential threat invades from Eastern Ukraine (800km) I doubt they will hold Moscow.

The US government doesn't have the artillery stockpiles required to fight the kind of war that the ex-Soviet states of Ukraine and Russia are fighting. Nor would the rebels. It would be different by sheer necessity.
