Losing a kid also puts a big hole in a family (at least those not hypnotized by a new lada) and if the leaked numbers are even somewhat close to correct there's a pretty high chance it could happen.
Dying is one thing, you could also loose some limbs and I don't know if Russia support their wounded vets enough so even from a purely financial point for your family fricking off to Kazakhstan seems like the best option

The Georgians have recently had a loud think about declaring war against Russia and taking back some provinces that were taken more than 10 years ago. My guess is that the Georgian government will have another loud think about conscripting Russians living there to conduct the attack.

And the Ukrainians you might eventually shoot at are going to be even tougher. They've got good guns, gear and training on top of their experience in the 2014 incursion. Plus they might just HIMARS you in your barracks instead. Given all that, maybe you really should just get away, or surrender at the first opportunity. Here's links to the official Ukraine surrender hotline and telegram channel:

Ukraine has a hell of a priority to ensure Russians dont "honeypot" this and wants to keep lines open. They have the full support of the US, Nato & most the UN to prevent such an attack.

I'll gonna be honest with you rusanon but that's some severe slave mentality here.
Ukies already killed much more russkies than kadirovets tiktokers ever could but you still fear them less. Be real, ukes hate your ass, they hate spineless russian homosexuals that kept putin at power no less than braindead vatniks that installed him. Only reason why they could keep you alive is to exchange you, but you're just a regular conscriptovich, meaning you are worthless to russia and even more so to ukies, you gonna survive this only by sheer luck.

Another Russian surrendering means another mouth to feed. Allied forces killed plenty of surrending Germans in ww2 because they couldn't afford to take them in as POW. I won't be surprised if Russia conscripts are getting executed in Ukraine cause they don't want more trouble to deal with.

                Anonymous

Vatnik demoralization shill. Ukraine is getting shipped fricking everything they need from the West, and a great way to endanger that public support is to commit warcrimes, even if we completely ignore the simple fact that surrendering Russians mean less Ukrainian lives lost which means they have everything to gain from making it as simple and safe as possible.

                Anonymous

I am sure majority of surrendering Russians are captured. But I won't be surprised if the smaller units that can't afford to capture POWs just shoot them and pretend they didn't see them surrending. This is war. The need for vengeance is high. I am sure Ukraine is committing some war crimes themselves.

                Anonymous

What smaller units do you think Ukraine is operating that can't phone home and say 'we've got some prisoners, can you swing by to pick them up?' Do you think the Ukrainian spec ops are operating behind enemy lines yet are so easy to find that they have random soldiers coming up to them to surrender? There are already trucks coming to the front to unload supplies to the troops, it's fricking trivial to load them up with vatniks in handcuffs for the return trip.

They might shoot the ones that are captured unwillingly but if some russian kid runs up to you waving his undies on a stick there's no way you're gonna shoot him. Nobody's that heartless. If nothing else they'll just send him to the rear to help load crates on trucks and shit.

But surviving into it isn't exactly granted, there's nothing stopping ukes from just leaving him bleeding on the ground alone in some ferest, or putting a few more bullets in him instead of bothering with his capture, it's not a war crime if he died in action.

Fricked thing is that monke's rhetoric says 'no conscripts' but 'reservists' includes literally every male who did their conscription before. 300k mobilized is only the beginning, by this definition of 'reservist' alone they can pull from like 25 million people

I doubt there's 300k 'reservists' of mobilization age with combat experience available to mobilize ngl.

Guys who fought in Chechnya now are too old, and we only sent very small small amount of kontraktniki to Syria or Donbas prior to current war

This combined with how police are conscripting protesters they arrest makes me highly doubt the 'combat experience' thing

The contract soldiers who willingly signed up for the Russian military are orcs who get off on the destruction, looting and rape. You celebrate them dying because they are evil.
The conscripts are slaves, literally bred and raised to be incapable of protest or resistance to their government sending them off to die. They aren't soulless automatons of the hivemind like chinks, they're just poor sad frickers who have had all ability to resist the government bred out of them. You celebrate them dying because it's an end to their misery.

Kontraktniki prior to this war mostly did it for money tbh. If you live in shithole far east city it's probably the best opportunity you have. My family only survived 90s because my father joined the navy and served on submarines up in Murmansk

People dying is sad, but Russians have had 6 months to tell monke to knock it off, revolt, riot, or do anything to make it clear that he'd be getting dragged out of his bunker and shot if he continued to escalate, and instead chose to keep their heads down and pray that it got better instead of doing something about it, all the while their army was destroying Ukraine and commiting warcrimes in occupied areas. Shocker, it didn't get better, and now there will be consequences for them.

It's easier to retrofit standalone luxury electronics onto a simple design than it is to try and remove malicious tech that's built-in and designed to weaponize your own car against you with an error message if you start removing electronic parts you don't like here and there from a modern car.

I'd rather buy some 1000 dollar shitter and spend 10 times the car's price making it reliable and cyber secure than a 40k dollar piece of malicious tech where no amount of money can buy me out of the botnet bullshit.

cars are inherently botnet due to automatic license plate readers, anyway. or maybe you're man enough to ride around with fake plates.

                Anonymous

A cop car happening to pass by you and scanning your plate info is a low tier security concern because some random cop is not going to follow you around and start collecting intel on an innocent person for no reason.

It's much worse when, say, a government funded automobile factory builds an electric car where the company can install anything they want on it, see where it is whenever they want, disable it remotely if they want, and they work closely with the government. And even if you pay the full price and buy that thing as your "private property" you aren't allowed to turn those features off. That's the kind of dystopic situation I'm trying to avoid. I'm not trying to go 100% off the grid, I'm aiming to have some basic human privacy.

Oh shit. I've seen the cop scanners that can tell by your plate whether your car is road legal, insurance is paid etc. but I didn't know about this. I hope this hasn't surfaced in the EU since we have slightly more privacy rights than burgers at least. There's a pretty good grassroots foundation to vandalizing traffic cameras and local gypsies will usually vandalize that shit for free or with a bit of encouragement anyway because their plate info is often fricked.

They only do it to protect their own unlawful interests but in the case of traffic cameras the vandalism can end up being more useful to working people, because there's actually countries that fine you more based on how much you make money, so the government leeches the biggest fines off of working people.

if the fine is $100 and person A makes $2000 a month and person B makes $5000 a month then A has lost 5% of their income while B has lost 2%

you aren't punishing B more by fining them more than A, you are punishing A more by fining them the same amount as B.

You are allowing B to break the laws twice as often as A and still not face as much of a consequence

This makes a society where being rich means you can ignore certain laws and making a mistake while poor can keep you down for longer than it would anyone else

Of course you are. The punishment is 200 for breaking the law and 4800 for going to work. If you didn't go to work you wouldn't get punished for 4800. You're being punished for working, no way around it.

I watched a stream of the protest in Moscow yesterday. Some twink got whisked away by homosexual and he kept shouting "Why does no one do anything?!"
The policemen and even passersby laughed at him. An actual hearty laugh by everyone who heard it, like it was the funniest joke they heard in a while.

I have been saying it for a while now. I don't respect Russians as long as they burn conscription centers or start assassinating their slavemasters.
If their patheticness would just impact their own country, I might have felt pity, but since it impacts so many other countries, not just Ukraine, I have no sympathy for them.

People did something in all arab countries, north africa, now Iran, Hong Kong, twice in Ukraine, twice in Belarus, Kazakhstan, not too long ago. Some of these places are even harsher towards protesters.

Only Russians are so buckbroken that they fail to do something natural that seemingly all other people just know how to do.

Belarusian at least could escalate it to the point where luka was forced to call in foreign spooks to shoot at his own people. That alone puts them few steps above russians in my list.

It probably would have been enough if Luka didn't call in Russians to mop the protests up.
At least in Belarus they came out in high numbers.
I am not even speqking about protests succeeding or not. By every metric the protests in Russia since the start of the war were just pathetic, despite so much bein on the line.
More Russians came put to protest in 2012 when it was about pensions than stopping a genocidal war against a "brother nation".
I know that this isn't a relevation, but it keeps baffling me that Russians aren't proper angry.

This, there's a vid going around now of protests in Iran where they straight up mob a cop trying to start shit, it's terrifying, 30 people just running in from the edge of the frame to get their kick in. This is in a country that has had secret police disappearing people for at least a hundred years now. But even they still have enough humanity left to fight.
Meanwhile in Russia they are just now starting to protest again because it seems they may be rounded up and sent to die.
But then you have cows like

                [...]
                >dood just like go out in the streets and protest bro
                >so what if you get arrested, tortured and sent to a gulag
                >what do you mean you don't want to throw your entire life away for nothing you fricking selfish bastard I hope you die
have you seen the footage from these anti-war protests? This shit isn't like in the western countries, the russian regime has no empathy
like a 100 people max show up to the protests, that shit won't do anything, protests numbering in thousands matter but good luck organizing that when everyone is scared for their life

who can't fathom even protesting let alone doing to their oppressors the same thing that they would happily do to them.

Same thing applies to westerner saying 'just molotov the voenkomat'

people tried this hundreds of times and 99% they have been caught, FSB watch voenkomat like hawk now

You are choosing between being sent to die in ukraine or having to leave your family, friends and country because of the actions of those above you, when they have to choose between dying and continuing to take those actions they will stop

Is Luka actually as bad as Putin though? Belarussians don't have to go to war and as long as there's food on the table and the old guy in a suit who's in charge is at least a little bit nationalistic then I wouldn't riot. Especially if there's any social libs in the rioter ranks, because any leader those people elect will be a thousand times more moronic than a classic selfish guy who hogs a couple extra terms.

I don't know if I would go that far, but the riots reminded him that there are real consequences for him if he pushes things too far, namely being hung from a lightpost by his balls. Meanwhile, Putin has no reason to believe that anything bad is going to happen to him even if he continues to order 10s of thousands of young Russians to their death because they're so buck broken as a people.

I was part of that. After the election beatdowns when people learned about what happened and largest protests started everyone was ready to tear cops apart. I've seen people aggro on even road police stopping cars and forcing them to let the drivers go. Riot police tried to disperse the first large postelection protest but failed to even get out of their trucks and fricking hid. The problem was any leadership was beheaded and everyone listened to nexta who dropped the ball. After several weeks of this people got tired meanwhile the govt was nabbing anyone showing leadership in their own apartments. If there was a clash in the first couple weeks the cops would've gotten steamrolled but luka turned out to be more cunning than yanukovich and waited it out.

That's how the Hong Kong protests got done in as well. The CCP was smart enough to keep all of its soldiers firmly in their barracks and let the city police wear the rioters down while nabbing the ideological leaders. Facing attrition and lacking concrete victories, the demonstrations naturally turned moribund and petered out, allowing the coup de grace of the National Security Act which provides a legal instrument to beat dissent to death.

I personally think that deep down, even the anti-war Russians cling to the naive (but not entirely unjustified) belief that war is the very last chance their country has of remaining a great power, instead of decaying in peacetime. Even Navalny, the archenemy of Putin, harbours imperialistic sentiments beneath his liberal rhetoric. That desire to remain of consequence may be hamstringing their efforts to protest Putin's actions; it's the dissonance of knowing that if they were in his shoes, they'd likely do the same.

Frankly I don't care about Russian beliefs or rationale anymore. I will never understand it, despite learning a lot about it. Since the Russian psychology is without principles and values, they will change themselves at the drop of a dime to fit the situation.
That's why I don't want them here. They spent the last two decades talking about evil HATO and Gayropa and now they want to come here under pretenses of political asylum? The second Russia will get themselves out of their mess a couple decades down the line, these very same people will again turn tail and become a security issue, only this time within Europe.

Yeah, that sounds good. Also, you might want to discuss an alibi that they can give if the police start grilling them about you. Do you have any reliable friends who can assist you at all, or are you really going to do this completely alone? A lot can go wrong for a single traveller.

To be fair, Finns (and Balts, and Ukrainians and every other Eastern European) are not super smart.
They let KGB and Stasi remnants run free through their countries to the point where they comprise most of the organised crime, half the media and in some cases (Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania) the de-facto government of the country.

            >how DARE you not granting me refuge for draft dodging! Guess Putin was right all along, you all need to be invaded!

Really? Then Russia is more lax than Finland. Even here any discharge like that which causes you to avoid service is just a "discharge from peacetime training" and not a discharge from war duty if you read the print, even if it's bone problems or lung problems or whatever. I would be surprised if Russia lets them off so easy.

Here you could just pay the voenkomat doctor 300k or so and he will declare you unfit

current mobilization covers 'reservists' for now (which is just those who previously did conscription and couldn't evade it) so rich kids who bribed their way out are probably ok until monke throws another fit and expands the mobilization

    1) Grab every last bit of cash. Also sell stuff you don't need. I'd say be ready until the upcoming monday
    2) If you got hair and/or beard, cut them off. You want to look as different as possible compared with your passport pic. Consider even getting different clothes and if you want to go the extra mile: Get a wig and female clothes.
    3) Get ready to sleeop outside. So you need appropriate caming gear for your general area these days.
    4) Put all your gear at a place where you can retrieve it. Not your home. Actually you should sleep at a different location (friends, extended family...) each night until you're ready.
    5) Drive south to the Kazakhstan border. If it's possible don't use your own vehicle. Get a friend's car or consider stealing one. DONT use public transportation. Don't leave at night or something. Be on the road when tons of other commuters are.
    6) After you crossed the border burn your passport. If you had much more time or connections you could try to get a fake one but since this won't work you need to camouflage your identity.
    7) Get to Astana and find a western embassy of your choice. If you want to, you can also use Ukraine's embassy (Zhyloy St 12, Nur-Sultan/Astana 020000) . Observe if there are kazakh cops and, if yes, if they check passports.
    8) If there are no real controls use a busy moment to get to the gate. Talk to the guards and tell tham that you're a Russian who dodged draft, who will face torture and probably death on return and that you want to apply for political assylum.
    9) If there are cops who are looking for guys like you, you need to wait for people leaving the embassy on foot or by car. Follow them and talk to them directly.

Be aware the embassy part might not work the first time. It's possible that you need to ring the gate of a different countrie's embassy.
It's up to you if you - in a real emergency - would lie to get your way into the embassy.

      Anonymous

      But whatever you do:

      1) Do not tell anyone your real name or nationality. At least outside the embassies.
      2) Do not tell your friends or family when you're leaving or where you're heading to.
      3) Do not use major roads while you're still in Russia
      4) Do not cross the border with your vehicle. Think of the license plates. Dodge the car in walking distance of the border, then walk the rest and find a bus or hitch hike for Astana

I don't know how hitchhiking works in a place like Russia where trust in others has all but eroded over the past century

      Stupid take.
Not to say, I do encourage crime or taking somebody else's property.
      But.
If you steal car by midnight, it won't be till morning when owner notices.
By that time you have already ditched car on the border and are in Kazakhstan.
Depending on the cop's honesty, by the end of the day, car could be already back to its owner.
