I am looking to buy my first time firearm. I am 21 and have always thought it would be cool to have one. I don't really like shooting, I just like it as a hobby. So I am looking for a very cheap firearm that is good for first timers. I can put about 200 at the most on this. I have other assets to invest in.
What State do you live in?
Wisconsin
probably best to get a rough rider heritage .22 to start if 200$ is your limit
Palmetto State Armory has the Ruger .22lr revolvers on sale for $150 right now. Big upgrade over a rough rider.
save for something halfway decent; there isn't much i can think of you'll find for $200 that will last an appreciable amount of time.
I don't really care if the firearm is good. I think a first firearm should be shit. I don't need nothing great. I may not even like shooting.
Why do you even want a firearm then? What are you looking for in a firearm?
This is my first, so I don't really even know if I'll like it
I was thinking a .22 as well. The kickback of shooting scares me. I need a light one.
We don't say "kickback". We say "kick", or more correctly "recoil". Terms are important. Used police Glock .40S&W now under $300
.22 is a great place to start, ignore people being dicks about it. There’s a reason most kids first actual rifle is a .22. You can learn the fundamentals with it.
Op is nervous about recoil and you recommend a glawck fowty lmao
>there isn't much i can think of you'll find for $200 that will last an appreciable amount of time.
Maverick 88.
$200 more will get you a Ruger 10/22 and a bunch of ammo
shit maybe like 10 years ago, ive seen 10/22s cost around 400$.
fuck
: (
10/22
>I don't really like shooting
homosexual
mine was 240 and that was at the height of the covid panic buy price hikes. I just saw one october 22 (10/22) for sale for 240 for the 'optic ready' model. just skimming gunbroker you can find them for like 300 for the iron sight wood stock models. I would recommend OP looks around a local gun store, that will save on shipping and FFL fees, and even better if he can find a used one
November is here. Guarantee there's going to be $300 10/22 combos with a cheap scope and a spinner target up for grabs at whatever semi big franchise that sells guns. Turners, Rural king, Sportsmans, Academy, whatever.
>I don't really like shooting,
>I just like it as a hobby.
???
I mean want to get into collecting firearms and shooting recreationally.
just invest in your other assets until you get enough of a return that you’re comfortable spending atleast twice that so you have a some level of wiggle room
please livestream it
beretta APX with rebate is like $280ish
I think those are the least expensive thing I'd consider buying besides a 10/22. Just save until you can get a 9mm pistol then get your carry permit, holster, belt imo. Everything else is consumerism, home defense or hunting. Carry and competency with your carry should be your priority.
>I don't really like shooting, I just like it as a hobby.
Very stupid.
Worst thread on /k/ right now, and that's saying a lot.
>I don't like shooting
>I have other assets to invest in
Just go to a range and try out a few a guns to see what you like, when you find one, have a nice day with it.
Lol, because I'm not a gun-nut, I should be bullied?
Yes. Preferably violently.
You come into a club of gun-nuts and practically insult our hobby trying to act cool while asking us for help. Go fuck yourself.
Yes.
you are t taking any of the advice seriously and you seem lax and mirthless regarding the whole thing
we dont need idiots who are apathetic to the art of shooting/self defense owning a firearm as they wont take it seriously. assholes like you are what causes gun "accidents".
get serious about safety, training etc or fuck off
https://gunprime.com/products/cz-shadow-2-9mm-blue-grip-17-round-capacity-91257?gd
this aint "cheap" or even the best first gun but damnit if this isnt a good deal for a nice pistol
go to a gun show and buy a tokarev or some other cheap surplus pistol for $200-$250
what fucking year do you think this is? that is a terrible suggestion
you are fucking retarded; this whole thread sucks. just go buy a hi point or sccy abd never post here again
why? I bought a chinese 9mm T54 and a star bm for less than $250 each not even a year ago.
I don't know the first thing about guns. Honestly, I have been scared of them.
first gun; get a savage 64.
https://www.atlantarifleworks.com/rifles/semi-automatic-rifles/64-semi-auto-22lr-orange-101sv64forange
you can get a glock 22 police trade in
for like 300 delivered roughly
https://www.gtdist.com/used-glock-22-gen-3-40-pistol.html
then get a glock 17 9mm barrel and 9mm mag to shoot 9mm through it if you want
might as well get threaded and thread protector
https://www.combatarmory.com/combat-armory-barrel-fits-glock-17-new-9mm-match-grade-barrel-threaded-1/
FOR THE REST OF /k/: you fucking homosexuals suck at finding deals or good prices or even giving suggestions worth a fuck 98% of the damn time. worst place to ask for gun advice in internet
>glocknades
youre fucking retarded; we aint talkin bout the p320 here
Gone are the days where people would post deals on this board. Used to be a thread up almost all the time.
that would be nice
but if i start one the tranny jannys will btfo it.
This thread fucking sucks, sort academy's website by $200 and fuck off
Rossi makes cheap .22lr rifles. For pistols you could buy a Heritage Rough Rider, Ruger Wrangler, or Melted p117
Meant to write keltec p-17
If OP is supposedly 21 then how come he types like he's a kid using the family computer
Because I was sleepy when I wrote this...
Thank you. Shooting scares me to be honest. The area I live in is shit, and my mom even brought herself a ruger. She is a lib, so I know she is noticing the decline over here.
Baby needs his nap
Any 21 year old that's posting at 3am and not awake until 1 in the afternoon doesn't need to be asking about what to buy. Go get a job full time
Cheap double barrel or pump action shotgun at your local pawn shop or gun store for your second gun if 200$ is the most you can scrounge up but for your first gun just get a 22lr so you can Learn the basics , if you can afford it later on buy a glock 19 or 17 and a basic ar15
Those 2 types of guns will be worth their weight in gold if things go any further south for this country
Shotgun: Used Maverick 88. Solid, reliable 12 gauge shotgun that's built like a tank. It might rattle, but it'll never break.
Stay away from turkshit.
Pistol: Basic bitch .22lr revolver. Go with a double-action.
If you can find a used Ruger Mark IV, that is probably the best autopistol that company has ever made.
.22lr is cheap ammo and teaches you the basics. While small, it's still a bullet and will still kill a man, so don't treat it any different.
Rifle: A used Ruger 10/22. A solid, reliable rifle in .22lr.
.22s tend to be a lot cheaper than other calibers.
Gone forever are the days of $80.00 Mosin-Nagants and $200.00 SKS rifles, sadly.
Honestly after reading this thread, I'd say save your money.
Maybe pick up carpentry or something.
op is a bitch; he should stick to funko pops
My first gun was a mossberg 500 (originally with a pistol grip) that I got for $100 11 years ago. Here it is rattlecanned with a new stock
>I can put about 200 at the most on this.
You cant afford this hobby. Ignoring the gun price 200 isnt enough to spend a day at the range. This is a hobby when you can blow through 20 bucks in 2 minutes. Even if its lol cheap 22 that 2 minutes only turns into 30.
A used pump action or single shot shotgun are your best bets.
>H&R single shots
can routinely be found for approximately 90-200 dollars. Theyre pretty nice for what they are. >Winchester pumps
can also be found for around 250- 450, but 200 would be at the very low end.
>purely asethetic value
Old sears/Belgium 10gauage double barrells can be found for less than 200 (particularly if they have been deactivated).
$200 is a shoestring budget. The only thing I would personally buy within that range is the aforementioned H&R. Bump your budget up to 500 and you can purchase a cheap ar15. Additionally, you should note thag you will likely may have to pay taxes, transfer/background check fees - these amounts should be factored in. Some final unsolicited advice, you should take firearm ownership seriously. Obviously, I don't know you and we are both posting to an anonymous bird taxidermy board, but owning a firearm (even one you intend to leave unfired/not shoot) carries a modicum of responsibility that you should acknowledge. Good luck tho homosexual.
>i can put about 200 on this
then you cant get a gun that wont explode in your hands.
I'd get a Savage bolt action 22lr. Endless hours of plinking
Shotguns: Maverick 88, H&R Pardner, Stevens 320
Rifles: Savage 64f, Ruger 10/22, Hi-point carbine
Pistols: Heritage rough rider, bersa thunder, maybe a used glock
Go buy something like a Retay 12 gauge for $150 and see if you actually like it first /thread
