Challenger > Abrams

Challenger:
>Not the greatest tank in most aspects but great armor
>designed to smash soviets in Europe and frick around around the world in former colonies
>Ukraine needs tanks to smash the exact soviet equipment it was designed to rape
>Ukraine gets tanks
Abrams:
>allegedly greatest tank ever designed
>allegedly designed to smash soviets in Europe and every other place on earth
>ukraine needs tanks to smash the exact soviet equipment it was designed to rape
>Ukraine doesn't get tanks because allegedly that's just not what the Abrams is made for, okay?

Americlaps, explain.

>inb4 muh logistics
America built logistical networks in middle eastern shitholes that could sustain Abrams within a week, why not do it at the Ukrainian border like everybody else?
What's the REAL reason Biden's not sending any?

They should just buy those mothballed Challenger Is from Jordan. They are old but still newer than most of Russia's tanks.

They are about 200-0 in the great sport of smoking Russian cold war tanks.

Judging by the weight simulator plates the current Abrams frontal armor is INSANE. I doubt even the Chally has better armor (Brits get it when it comes to armor)

But yeah the Abrams is frontal Assault slug fest tank hence the DU armor, it's on a notha level

90 tonnes bridging weight fully loaded and with addons, an entire gen newer composite armour(Dorchester) compared to Chobham armour.
Abrams now even needs cope cubes on the front turret Kek.

The way its front mudflaps slant upward as they go towards the center of the hull make the entire vehicle look like it's starting to implode in on itself from the sheer weight of armor its carrying

Cope it has 2nd gen hydrogas suspension instead of rattling around on torsion bars.

If it was going to implode in on itself they would be slanted the other way dufus.

the Abrams has also upgraded it's composite fren and those are simulator plates they simulate the weight of the new armor. the Chally is good tank well armored but no DU? ooof it's always a close 2nd to the General Dynamics Abrams

The Dorchester composite armour has heavy metals and carbides because it was the next generation of armour over Chobham.
Challenger 3 is getting next gen armour called Epsom and Farnham armour.

Looking at the abysmal performance of Russian tank crews, logistics, and supporting units you could probably put them all in T-14's that actually exceeded Russia's hype about that vaporware, and Ukrainians would still stand a decent chance against them in modern reproduction Valiant tanks (a British design of WW2 that was so terrible that the one prototype actually built was delivered to The School of Tank Technology in the UK as an example of 'what not to do' for generations of students to learn from).

      This.

Of course, the Abrams is best because a smoothbore L55 beats any rifled abortion.

But the Abrams uses L44 and the Bongoloids rifle is a .55 cal which is the same length as the actual L55 smoothbore.
The L30 rifle isn't that weak its just the 2 piece ammo is way out of date compared to the latest US 120mm sabot rounds.

The reason they aren't sending any abrams is because Ukraine support is somehow more controversial in the USA than in the UK despite the UK currently undergoing one its worst depressions in recent history.

As a britbong but an ex- HAT (16 med reg) I hate all tanks and I never want to see one, friendly or enemy, but the Abrams is fricking badass and the few times I've seen them the high pitched whine they make impressed me a lot. The gun blowing the shit out of people 2km away also impressed me a lot. But what really impressed me more was how modular everything inside was, it's like it was designed to actually make the crews life not complete misery.

Now the chally, on the other hand, has nearly run me over enough times that I feel vulnerable whenever I'm within 200ft of it, it looks fricking terrifying, like a monster as opposed to the Abrams sleekness, and it shoots fricking squishy shells that vaporise anyone on the other side of whatever it's hitting without actually making a hole in it. I even know a guy who was in the platoon that lost the chally to FF in Iraq, and his description of what happened to the guy under the open hatch which got hit by the HESH round makes even a medic like me tense up.

Bottom line is all tanks are fricking terrifying, and all NATO tanks will vaporise all WP tanks, and I'd much rather be in a helicopter flying 3ft over the trees doing some Colossus rollercoaster shit while trying to put cannulas and chest drains in thank you very much.
