          https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Business-deals/Ukraine-blocks-Chinese-takeover-of-jet-engine-maker-on-US-urging
          >Ukraine will halt the takeover of an aircraft engine maker by a Chinese company, responding to U.S. objections over the prospect of important military technology falling into Beijing's hands.
          >The decision angered China, which has grown increasingly important economically to Ukraine since Kyiv's relationship with Moscow broke down following Russia's 2014 annexation of Crimea. But when tensions between Beijing and Washington forced a choice between the two, Kyiv prioritized its relationship with a crucial security partner.

China seethed so fricking hard about this they tried to take it to the the Hague.

China doesn't make its own jet engines, they don't have the capability. IIRC all of the 'Chinese' aircraft are built around Russian engines - and do you really think Russia can produce/is willing to sell large numbers of high performance modern engines to anyone?

That's an odd way of saying Russia won't sell them individual aircraft engines and their domestic version powering the J-20 are wesk and have other problems.

They have a third the lifespan of comparable foreign plants too.
They've figured out the basics but for some stupid reason can't put together the metallurgical knowhow to prevent their turbines from eating themselves.

                > some stupid reason
It's corruption. They know how to make good engines that last. They know what metallurgy must be used. But go to specify it, and some cheaper alternative ends up in the product. For all of the corruption the West does deal with, at least we (somehow) can actually build things to spec.

China makes no modern jet engine, the best they could produce domestically do is a licensed Spey engine that powers the JH7 bomber, all other Chinese jets are powered by Russian engines, no exception

Due to western sanction, Russian also can't make engine anymore, this has indefinitely delay the invasion of Taiwan

None of the main Chinese fighter jets are currently being built with Russian engines.
Afaik only some of their trainer aircraft have foreign engines.

The fact that the standard to be considered educated was rote memorization of irrelevant material rather than any practical ability to perform necessary jobs meant that your average Chinese bureaucrat was less able to do his job than your typical inbred British noble of two centuries prior. China has the same problem today as it did back then, the concept of losing face and the obsession with avoiding it forbids the kind of harsh in-depth self-criticism and learning from one's own mistakes that you see in the West.

NPO Saturn, based in Rybinsk builds the AL-31 that was used in the J-10 and J-20 fighters. China is switching to the indigenously built WS-10 for both fighters.

          >China's next gen engines were reliant on Ukraine's know-how.
No they weren't. They were using the Russian AL-31 engine built in Russian.

That was debunked earlier, address the debunking or don't bother bringing up debunked points. China's inability to produce jet engines is legendary by now, practically India-tier technical malcompetence.

You can launch F-35 without the ramp, the ramp just increases the max takeoff weight.
