Eeeeehhhhh...
Modern percussion caps use a more impact resistant priming compound than the old school ones so unless you have a fairly strong mainspring it can be a bit iffy.

jesus i knew americans had higher crime rates but having to kill hobos every single day...
in any case it's better than nothing. unless you like your house smelling of sulphur for days get a proper gun
Some frog anon posted about blasting two home intruders with his BP holgeg, went swimmingly. IIRC he kept loaded by his bed, and afterward had to do some counseling or some shit but was never charged with a crime, clean shoot
You can't just leave a blackpowder gun loaded and stored, the powder will suck up moisture from the air and go inert fairly quickly.
Wild Bill Hickock was especially obsessive about this - he made a point to fire his pair of Colt 1851s until empty every single morning, then reload them and seal them with wax

Better than anything else legal if you can't get a modern weapon where you live.
Most need some gunsmithing right out of the box. A High Point or one of those old top break .38's with handloads would be more reliable.
Alright story time felonanon, how old were you and how old was she?
