Chinese made type 56 stamped under folder. They exported millions of them to the middle east and Africa. In the US we got tons of semi auto exports of them as the aks-762 and mak-90 before they were banned from import in the 90s

idk how much they're worth in your country. It already looks unused just needs Chinese furniture

Where the frick do you live that you managed to get this full auto for $300 with apparently all the legal paperwork for it?

Either way, yes it's worth the restore. Chinese AKs were actually pretty well made

          Nobody say it was legal.
Without looking much, here in France I can get you a Zastava M70 in FA for far less than a 1000 dollars

In the US I suppose you can get illegally converted full auto waer or zastava zpap AKs for around 1k. But we have the atf and extremely harsh punishments here for that

its moronic to mess with the ATF here, mfs take a cut of everything or they will shoot your dog.

Don't worry, we also have hard punishment. But mostly if you are French.
When I was in the army I saw bunch of gang in Marseille magdumping next to an hopital in broad day.
And this was in the 90s.

I doubt that. That AK is definitely illegal in the US especially without a transfer and full auto stamped type 56 under folders never came in with those markings. Vietnam ones were mostly milled the few stamped ones had different markings. If you are in the US, Id guess youre an FFL 07 SOT and just built that from a kit

I am extremely angry and jealous.

Just know, if you want a saiga 5.45 instead and you have all the paperwork, AND you had it transfered properly and legally, AND you have paid your $200 tax stamp you can probably sell that AK for around 40,000 if not more, maybe even 60,000 to 100k

Just make sure you've done everything correctly in taking possession of it before you try to sell it or you are going to be in alot of hot water.

Quality of Chinese AKs really depends. The Poly Tech Legend commercial sporter line was very finely made, but your average Type-56 rifle is completely average as far as Kalashnikov rifles go. An average AK is by no means bad, however.

So he just did the paperwork for transferring what's either a pre-86 transferable machine gun, or a dealer sample machine gun?
If it's the latter, $300 is way low, it's worth probably three times that, but if it's the former, an outright transferable AK, it's worth easily over $30000, and that's if it remains legal and not contraband.

I'm not gonna snitch on you, but you understand that at best you're doing something risky for low returns, and at worst you're doing something risky and burning away a huge chunk of cash for it.
I really hope that it's a post-sample gun and that you're all Type 07 SOT's, because I fricking hate the idea of some idiots taking a transferable AK out of the market.

No, its a pre 86 ban, fully transferable. his father was a nam vet, and he passed away recently. the guy is no good with guns. and i didn't know what it was worth so i told him ill buy it off him for 300, because he was having trouble with money.

              Anonymous

I hope you transferred it correctly because he cannot just privately sell that gun to you legally

You have your tax stamp for it? A trust set up? Etc?

everything is good, i have another IWI Uzi, mostly same paperwork.
can you please tell me what furniture it needs? since not all of them fit. east german grip is a good fit, but cant find the front furniture..
ps, tell me if you want to see anything inside or such.

If it isn't what you want why keep it though?

If all the legal stuff is in order, sell it for anywhere between 30-100 grand, buy the 5.45 saiga you want plus all the ammo you'd ever need for it, and pocket the rest

Surely somewhere in all that paperwork you did, it said exactly what the gun is.

With friends like you, no kidding.

Its definitely not a pre 86 transferrable from vietnam as others had mentioned. OP is probably from another country and just made up a story for (you)s

it can be a pre ban, but not from Vietnam. its an Albanian AK. something is off with OP's story.
