Can polymer framed DA/SA handguns survive in the modern marketplace? Springfield Armory discontinued the XD-E after less than 4 years. Seems like folks only care about the USP

Well the xde was bad but also no one wants to learn to shoot 2 different triggers for no benefit
Why are modern shooters so averse to actually learning how to shoot?
You expect me to actually practice with my carry gun?
Why do you equate a double action hammer to good shooting? It's passe technology
DA/SA was actually a very bad and antiquated trigger system, I'm glad theres bettr options now. It's actually made for noobs. Heavy safety pull, ultralight shooting pull. Those are both crutches. You're the one who need to learn to shoot. LEM is a fucking awesome trigger for actual professionals.
I run my cz 75 compact SA only and it's better than any striker fired trigger I've ever touched.
Says the anon as he sends 6 separate inadvertent doubletaps downrange.
>Says the anon as he sends 6 separate inadvertent doubletaps downrange.
But that's something only a DA/SA fag would do.
The only ND I've ever had was with an SA trigger. There's no reason for them to be that light.
>Professionals NEED a completely different trigger to be effective
holy shit shut the fuck up there's a reason why the LEM trigger is a dead end in handgun design, training makes any meme triggers pointless unless said trigger can do something that training can't achieve.
Because zoomers never actually shoot their guns, and expect it to perform just like in their video games.
this post would be a lot less retarded if it was about anything other than defending DA/SA triggers.
>modern shooters
As opposed to what, anon? No, my 1911 doesn't have two triggers, neither does my SAA. A good trigger isn't a "modern" thing, it's ancient at this point.
DA/SA is an aberration not some time honored tradition.
Guns are Funko Pops instead of tools now
gunsoomers would rather blow 600-700 on another handgun and jerk themselves off while experiencing the high of buying another gun than blow 300-400 on ammo
>you HAVE to learn on a gun with a shitty 20lb trigger because thats how progression is supposed to work! you can't just buy a nice handgun as a beginner!
fpwp holy fuck zoomers are insufferable
idk do you like them or not? ¯_(ツ)_/¯
>posts a gun that was discontinued because nobody wanted it even in spite of the James Bond movies
>this somehow makes some kind of point
>nobody wanted
Ive never heard, nor read a negative review on the P99.
And I've never seen a review of a p99 because no one's bought one
P30
Haven't heard much of anything about it since John Wick
It's a great gun, solves some issues with the age of the USP and P2000. Just brings the series into the modern age. I'd get one if they had it in compact. I'm not a fan of HK's sk size but their compact size has those ideal G19 dimensions.
Also best part about HK is you can get the LEM system and not have to deal with the antiquated gayness of DA/SA. It's a light DAO. You get the hard reliable strike of a hammer and second strike capability without your trigger being a chud and switching genders in between your shots.
Damn this is the worst thread I have ever seen from this reply alone
I know you want short tiktok replies like this.
But we are all autistic and thorough here.
Maybe learn to shoot?
>antiquated gayness of DA/SA
Why is the initial DA trigger pull so triggering? Some people make it out to be so hard and complex to grasp that they have to lie down and think for hours because it causes them brain damage or something.
b-b-but my trigger needs to be so light that atmospheric pressure alone can actuate it
For me? It’s d/a s/a with a decocker
A man of taste
The FNX was an FN fine gun. Sadly no longer in their lineup. The only hammer fires most big handgun manufacturers make are their .22lr handguns since hammer fire are more reliable for the not notoriously reliable .22lr round.
>inb4 squishy
It was a damn good gun sans for that bad batch. I hope they bring back a version of it and make it look classy rather than tacky. Modern metal frame handguns are also a rarity these days. Seems like most hammer bois want a metal frame anyway so might as well combine them.
The XD-E was a shit idea.
>heavy DA trigger even with hammer cocked back
>slide as long as full size XD
>grip only half inch shorter than full size XD grip
>same width as full size XD
>8+1 single stack magazine
It would have done better if it accepted the double stack 16rd XD mags and they just chopped one down to 12rds flush.
>da with the hammer cocked back
Anon...
Ever shoot the XD-E?
The trigger pull was just as heavy as the double action with the hammer back.
Cocking the hammer literally made no difference.
I carry one. I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about. It's a 10-12lb da/5-6lb sa trigger.
>massively tall slide
>low capacity
>mediocre trigger
The only thing xde really had going for it were super thin, good factory sights, and da/sa. I carry one, but I'm probably going to replace it the second I find a good deal on any of the stack and a half guns that are all the rage currently.
Oh damn they did? Glad I got one, it's a nice sorta USP, but boy did they fuck up the trigger.
Usually when people go for full size DA/SA guns they also want the added benefit of a heavier frame gun which most polymer frame guns lack. The USP is just SOVL and reeks of 90s experimental design so it survives as a collectable niche. Unironically if the autism recoil spring idea caught on .40 wouldn't have been seen as being as bad as it was received.
Soft soibabies can't handle anything but the featheriest of triggers
why would you willingly buy a gun that has a shit trigger? also what handgun do YOU own?
>every trigger I can't pull is SHIT!
>draws Glock
>*squish* *squish* *squish*
Great non-answer
I just like hammer fired guns, I like what I like. Strikers only the industry standard because of glocks and the clones to follow. I think hammers can come back, look at the CSX.
When laser guns come out there will be this thread talking about how strikers are dead. But people still shoot black powder
