Sadly overpowering Russian transmitters is practically impossible without a dedicated nuclear power plant and antenna array pumping out so much power it's simultaneously causing and treating cancer in everything in a five mile radius.
Every one of those motherfrickers has 5kW transmitters they use to warm their shitty fishing shack and as a side effect pollute the spectrum with their drunk autism.
Not only can they detect it, it's incredibly easy to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from, because it's basically the equivalent of a moron screaming in the middle of the street.
You don't need to be a ham either to receive signals. Anyone can do it.
>You don't need to be a ham either to receive signals
While it's true you don't need to be licensed to just receive, you probably aren't going to pick up signals from ukraine or russia or moon bounced or whatever with your uv5r.
I need to make some pro-Ukraine posts soon or my gifted Reddit premium will run out! I can't spare any money or I won't be able to afford my subscription to Blacked and my daily onions beverages!
Please post some hekking wholesome videos of russians being blown up
Yeah, SDRs in and around Ukraine are a hot-stop of fun. A bunch of stuff leaks over across boarders, and it's super fun.
Russia is kinda shit at elwarfare though. Most stuff is pretty much just shit cranked up to 13 screaming over everything else. No subtlety to it.
If you're persistent enough you can catch combatants using their shitty boefangs on VHF/UHF.
I got a ham radio licence.
Learned 75% of the stuff from hanging around with former sigint boomers at my radio club. The remaining 20% was beat in to me in college.
Heres a quick rundown on the lingo used in the post.
SDR- software defined radio, essentially a radio you control with a computer. there are a bunch of SDRs scattered across the world people set up that let you listen in to local radio transmissions.
One in Ukraine is:
http://sdr.cloudns.pro:8901/
UHV stands for ultra high frequency (anything over 300Mhz-3Ghz in the case of most civilian communications 430-440 but this varies on your local laws)
VHF same deal but stands for very high frequency 30Mhz - 300 Mhz...
In essence it tells you roughly where the radio activity is taking place.
elwarfare is electronic warfare, think of it as electrical engineer shenanigans in an active war zone
ARRL publishes a manual on ham radio licensing that covers most of the lingo, but that can be hit or miss depending on how much of a book worm you are
Yes
Imagine having to explain this to your superior officer
They only need to overpower the transmitter in the vicinity of the SDR

Violent response to rußians and rußian sympathisers isn't a crime. It's common sense.

That's the most interesting and helpful post I've seen in a while. Thanks
