What is the tactical advantage of putting three (3) large holes into your ship on the top portion of the bow?

Above draft torpedo tubes, forwards facing so they can aim them with the bow.

They're for line handling and visibility during anchor evolutions.

That Chinese carrier still looks weirdly smooth like it's not real. I chose the related pic because it's new construction and shows the expected texture of thick steel construction including the reinforcements around the forward holes where the Chinese ones just look like holes cut in thin material. Honestly, that Chinese carrier looks like something the Iranians would do for propaganda.

      Hmmm, lets try that again

I noticed the difference in the holes too. I think it's not so much reinforcement as a way to make the edge gently curved so that the ropes aren't bending at hard angles and rubbing against a sharp edge.

Not only that they have to find the target during a search phase. So they are very vulnerable to jamming and the plasma interference degrades normal guidance. Oh and I forgot to mention that they require Sat and OTH radar help(so you hit those day one lmao ayyy)

You're trolling obviously. But for those who aren't aware only limited numbers of the newer DF-21B and DF-26s have terminal guidance. Even with this both need to slow down in order to employ terminal radar or optical guidance, in addition any maneuvering will to evade air defense will also bleed speed since the MARV is unpowered. This is before EWAR and the longer response time is factored. They're a threat but not some magic silver bullet.

          Anonymous

          >Even with this both need to slow down in order to employ terminal radar or optical guidance,
Nope lol. The terminal guidance are done by sat, they don't slow down

            Anonymous

Boy oh boy. I guess they are magically communicating with drones and satellites without slowing down to reduce the plasma sheath formed when flying mach 5. Next you will tell me it doesn't have a 700m CEP and they just equipped the DF-21D with radar terminal for lols because satellites do everything.
Low energy troll but I'm still gonna effort post because lots of people think DFs are making carriers obsolete

The Chinese official propaganda is that the missile will hit the carrier and kill the Americans and then we will give up and go home because we lost the will to fight.

When in reality each DF-what ever the frick is tracked by ISR we would launch strikes on Chinese missile sites with B-21s and B-2s. The original mission profile of the B-2 was hunting down road mobile ICBMs, so sending them and their little brother to go find these CARRIER KILLERs is something the USAF will do (then later brag to the navy about saving their ass)

ASBM is a cope for nations with no sub force. Everyone knows you actually have to send subs out to hunt down the enemy HVTs or a dedicated surface taskforce because stand off attacks against Aegis protected fleets have a low kill prob.(nobody ever talks about EW/ECM and off board sensor support for the person being attacked)

Getting into a missile shooting war favors the US, thats the War we want, we built our whole navy around getting shot at with missiles.

    oh I nearly forgot lads

EMALS is proper name of a product made by General Atomics. Chinese trolls will take the names of existing systems and slap them on their version it to allude to quality. If you have experience with Chinese people in business/trade they do this a lot.

Unless General Atomics makes it or gives you a license its not EMALS.

also: kinda weird that OP doesn't post on sinodefense forum they literally have a 890 page thread on this ship
