Do 10mm pccs actually exist? Every one I've heard of is still vaporware

CMMG banshee, vector, hipoint carbine, 10mm MP5 clones if you can find them

NTA, but do those even exist? I know there were a small number of real-deal MP5s made in 10mm but those are unobtanium and AFAIK nobody makes a repro in 10mm.

If you have some welding skills and a press, you can make a 10mm mp5 from a flat, it's tedious but not too difficult

whole point of pcc is the ability to use glock mags. I doubt any mp5 clone can

i think its cool when a company makes a carbine that uses their own handgun's mags but at the same time i would prefer an SMG to have double-feed mags.

Fallout or Deus Ex meming. Although most who have shot it IRL, understand the appeal.(the versatility, not just the max power loads)

the versatility is why I’m interested in it. I can use it in a handgun, and I can use it in a carbine (potentially sharing mags) and get quite good ballistics out of it.
on top of it you can shoot .40 cartridges out of your 10mm firearms too

You can shoot .40 S&W out of a 10mm revolver and I would assume as well long guns as well

A quick youtube search gives you loads of evidence that 40 can go bang in a 10, and tends to even cycle if it's a glock.

I've done it out of an EAA Witness and it cycles reliably. Yes 10mm's can shoot .40

On a related note I've also tried .380 through a 9mm G19. It did not work reliably. The most rounds I could get through with cycling was 2-3, but more often it would jam and these were really bad jams. Failures to extract where the casing was stuck in the chamber saying frick you I'm not letting that extractor reach me. In a pinch I guess it could work but you're going to have to manually extract a lot of rounds. I decided not to try 9x18 through it. But a .40 through a 10mm, can confirm it just works.

It's a beast of a magnum round that fits in a semi auto. It's just very powerful for what it is.

That being said I wouldn't get a PCC in it. PCCs are the size of small rifles. The point of handgun rounds is the fit in something the size of a handgun. If you're getting something the size of a rifle, get a rifle caliber. As good as 10mm is, it only excels as a handgun round. It leaves a lot to be desired as a rifle round.

This precisely. There's no reason not to just get the double energy and triple range (at least).

Why stop there? Just go with finger guns since they're free and have infinite ammo to boot. Kids these days have no imagination, back in my day a stick could be a shotgun, rifle, smg, bazooka, sword, or axe all in one.

Yes. You can have six 30 round mags on your plate carrier as opposed to three 30 round 556 mags. That and it's lighter and smaller. Pros stop here though.

    >in an urban SHTF LARP scenario
Only until you run out of bullets. If you were shooting 556, you'd be able to scrounge up a bunch of ammo in a bind. Good luck finding a cache of 10mm sitting around somewhere in the city

everyone will be after 556 and 9mm ammo.
chances are it’ll be gone immediately, but 10mm? not that sought after

        >it’ll be gone immediately
Considering the army has about a trillion rounds of 556 in storage all across the country and will pull a ton of it out in a true SHTF scenario, id wager it'll probably be the only round you can easily find. Nobody's looking for the 10mm ammo, that's true, but there'll be so little of it to find to begin with that 556 would still probably be a better caliber in this hypothetical

Replace an AR for what? Realistically, you'll have little if any reason to use a long gun in such a situation. That's just bullshit invented by popular post apocalyptic media to make things more exciting.

Not at all. Pistol caliber carbines don't have anywhere near the power of rifle caliber carbines. I'd recommend getting a shorty .300 Blackout. A 7-inch .300 Blackout AR firing supers has slightly more muzzle energy than a 10.3-inch 5.56 AR firing green tips, although you're obviously not going to get the same range, accuracy, and penetration, but you're definitely going to get the same stopping power at close ranges against targets with type IIIA body armor and below.

No. The only reason PCCs exist is because of SBR laws which wouldn't matter in a societal collapse.
