>In joint procurement for medium range air defence, Estonia and Latvia will start negotiations with the German weapons manufacturer Diehl Defence for acquiring the Iris-T SLM air defence system, announced defence ministers Hanno Pevkur and Ināra Mūrniece on Sunday in Riga.
>“I am very happy that together with Latvia we have reached the next milestone in our joint procurement for medium range air defence. This has been a joint project of historical proportions for our defence cooperation, the largest one to date,” said Estonian Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur.
CAMM ON INGERLAND SCORE SOME FUCKING CONTRACTS
It seems customers prefer IRIS-T over EMADS
Probably a price/availability thing more than it is pure performance.
Why are they so retardet? Why would anyone choose ISHI-T over CAMM?
See
If CAMM was going to take 3-5 years for delivery and cost $50m+ more for similar capability, and IRIS-T only had 12-24 month lead time, youd have to have a VERY good reason to go with CAMM.
>Cheaper
>Faster availability
>Politically beneficial as it stays in the EU
CAMM is expensive, but offers little improvement over IRIS-T at shooting down Russian moron jets.
Interesting they didn’t chose the NASAM honestly. CAMM is not a surprise since it isn’t proven and not that effective vs the initial testing.
In the future it will be quite hard to argue against revisionists that say NATO started the Ukraine war given the number of NATO strategic aims met.
>Revivification of NATO
>Accession of Sweden and Finland
>Rearmament of members across Europe
>Growth of NATO MIC
>Russia now permanently surrounded and sanctioned while facing a new arms race in conventional weapons it can't afford anymore than it could afford the nuclear arms race
You are a historian in 2063, are you going to look at that list and really believe the Russians "did it for free"?
And the joke is the outcome of the Ukraine war doesn't matter to any of the above. Putin must be banging on the table demanding to know why they put the settings on Ironman mode without telling him.
>in the future historians will have a hard time debating gays who say the USA caused WW2 to have an excuse to become a nuclear superpower
Mother fucker people already claim that now.
and everyone sees them for the retards they are
moot point
>first delivery in 2024
Wow, the production of Iris-T SLM is ramping up like crazy if that's the case.
The balts want delivery yesterday instead of in 3-4 years. CAMM never had a chance.
I love seeing poles seethe over IRIS-T SLM. They chose CAMM and now have buyers remorse
What is CAMM?
SCAMM*
Ukraine is working well to advertise weapons.
Why the fuck are the nazis allowed to win? Why do nice guys always lose
Well, I would have preferred SAMP/T for some anti-ballistic capability, but it's better than nothing.
Aren't they partnering with Germany for that German-Israeli multinational ballistic shield?
A ballistic missile shield covering to whole of Europe is a nice dream, but I doubt it will ever happen.
When did we start using Baltic states military procurement as a benchmark for what's good and not what's cheap?
>G36
>Boxer
>CV90
>JLTV
>Patria 6x6
>Blackhawk
Most Baltic military procurements have been modern equipment, save for the CVRT purchase
Was this meant to be an impressive list? Lmao literally bog standard, entry level military equipment.
You implied Baltic procurement is cheap equipment.
For the most part, it isn't not.
Now you moved the goalpost to F35s and 140mm MBTs by the tone of your post
Lithuania is really the only one of the three that can afford expensive stuff like Boxer and JLTV.
Estonia and Latvia buy cheap stuff or second-hand for the most part. As an example Estonia is buying cheap Turkish 4x4s instead of the JLTV.
Estonia is buying K9s and LMT AR-15s as main service rifles, that shit aint cheap
K9s we have are old A1s that have been refurbished. Same with the CV90, bought from the Netherlands.
I'M GONNA CAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
