At this rate the russians should have eliminated all Caesars in around 20-30 years.

More than that. The production rate is at about 6/month now and is increasing to 8/month by the end of the year.

    > You gentle Russians. Gentle Russians, hear me. Friends, Russians, sodomites, lend me your eggs! I come to bury the Caesar, not to praise it. The damage that howitzers do lives after them, The good is oft interred with their barrel; So let it be with the Caesar. This was the noblest Howitzer of them all. All the conscripts save only he, did what they did in envy of the great Caesar. It only, in a general honest campaign, and common will for all, made one of them. His recoil was gentle, and the mobility so mixed in mud that the nature might stand up and say to all the world, "This was a cannon."

lancets are cute, and effective at hitting targets, but the warhead is too small to seriously damage armored vehicles.

Why does NEITHER side operate artillery in battery? It’s surreal seeing all these gun systems designed to coordinate firepower in volleys of shattering concentrated storms of iron just putter about individually. Like a public server BF4 player abandoning the team to go larp as a sniper in the corner of the map all game.

Counter battery you goof. Both sides are good at it, though Russians not as much and it's continually degrading (running out of radars). They fire and flee called "shoot and scoot". It's why Siege Tanks work better than towed artilery since they can skidaddle away easier.

I kind of agree with this moron, the Lancet is lacking but it's not terrible in itself. Sure, it's like 10% of what was advertised and lacks a dual purpose warhead, wobbles around with shit aim, and is either too expensive for what it is or doesn't perform as well as it should for the price. It should just be loitering around Ukrainian positions until it spots opportunity targets and destroy them. It's not terrible at that.

What really hurts Russia is that they don't have GMLRS, so when they spot a target they have to send a Lancet to fill that role, and it's just completely inadequate. Webm related, imagine if Ukies had to send Lancets on those targets instead of GMLRS, half the SPGs would get away and it's not even a guaranteed hit or kill. And that's really the point, the fuck's the point of Lancet if you have to use another drone to spot the target and use it instead of a simply better weapon?

            Anonymous

In reality Lancet is reaping arty. It has a small warhead but it’s bigger than the Javelin’s and it’s enough to kill arty systems.

It's reaping volumes of spam previously unheard of before. At this rate Russia will achieve telegram superiority in a matter of months.

              Anonymous

GMLRS has greater firepower but it requires spotting and the target to remain stationary. Meanwhile Lancet can spot targets and attack moving ones. Obviously Russia would benefit from having accurate MLRS but it doesn’t take away from Lancet’s effectiveness.

              >half decent weapon
              >Russia losing the artillery war anyway
              >nooo but look at how effective it is
The Lancet isn't terrible like I said, though obviously Russian hands built it, but they're just trying to use it to fill a role it can't against an enemy with sufficient resources. And that's just not something to brag or spam about.

That's the entire point, gay. Russia doesn't have GMLRS so they try to use a DIY drone instead. Then thirdies on here brag about Lancet kills without realizing that Russia is trying to conduct counter-battery with a DIY drone. It's just pathetic.

Ammo shortages I assume. If they just keep spamming batteries they will burn through their stockpile with minimal effect. Drones and other modern technology provide precise targeting options so there's no need for batteries to take out a single target anyways. Unless you can singlehandedly fix the global shortage of artillery shells, neither side will do a good old fashioned battery.

Just because you don't see these beautiful lines of artillery pieces laying on a field firing in unison doesn't mean they aren't used as a battery. We have these things called radios and trajectory calculations in this century.

Anon please. Artillery hasn't had to line up in a field to coordinate their fires on a singular target since the 1930s.

Remember that the glavset saves months of lancet videos and releases them in bulk, most of them edited, to blow their effectiveness out of proportion. Their hit rate is abysmal, and most of them result in misses.
Also remember that the lines of defense on southeast Ukraine are currently being breached, hence the barrage of glavset roosters spam bombing the board.
