we don't really know who did what. The biggest danger to any dictator is the military, and Putin puts a lot of effort to not let any general get popular of this war.
One thing that can be probably attributed to Dvornikov was the sober realization as to the average IQ of his soldiers, and giving up on any cute maneuvers. Relying instead of waves of artillery followed by probing attacks followed by more artillery.

This war is completely unlike the war in Syria. The Syrian rebels had a few million in mostly non-lethal gear provided to them by the CIA, and they were just a bunch of normies who rose up against their government with no training or anything like that.

The Ukrainians have received over 10,000 times more foreign support than the Syrian rebels, and the Ukrainian regime has a militia battle-hardened force of Nazi fanatics on their side, as well as thousands of other soldiers of fortune from all across the Western world.

Everyone knew he wasn’t going to matter one way or the other in this war. All of Russia’s strategies and tactics are guided mostly by what their very little capabilities allow for. Carpeting areas with inaccurate fire until the defenders retreat is all they CAN do.

What everyone used to think was that a dictatorship could be super effective at building up forces and waging war — turned out to be the opposite in reality. In reality dictatorships run off bribery and corruption which ends up destroying military readiness and killing real capabilities. In reality all Putin’s regime accomplished was to build palaces and mega yachts (made in Europe because their own industry was so decayed they couldn’t do it in their own country). All those years of being by far the largest gas producer in the world and making mint off of Europe’s terrible energy choices resulted in only super wealth for oligarchs and barely a cent for the development of Russia. THIS is the outcome in reality.

dvornikov got BTFO because he was thrust into an actual conventional war instead of the Russian mission in Syria which consisted of
    >bomb the shit out of jihadists barely capable of aiming a pistol who are incapable of doing anything to you while syrians/hezbollah/iranian troops do the ground fighting
Russia's role in syria has been severely overhyped honestly in the grand scheme of things. I don't want to play down the critical role their support played in shoring up Assad but it was hardly a fighting style the Russians could export into imperial revival adventures like this one where the Russians are doing all of the fighting

      Anonymous

Ukrainians aren't helpless Syrian rebels and terrorists, they can actually fight toe-to-toe with Russians.

Syria couldn't even launch a front-wide counteroffensive against the Russians.

        Anonymous

        >Syria couldn't even launch a front-wide counteroffensive against the Russians.
that's because the rebels were as busy fighting each other as they were fighting Assad.
frankly it's an indictment of the SAA that they were incapable of actually advancing without the Russians carpet bombing their enemies constantly. it's why I'm sure Assad quietly shits himself everytime he looks towards Ukraine

      Anonymous

      I think you mean
      >bomb the shit out of unarmed civillians and then claim that they were jihadists
Which is ironically basically the same strategy russia is using in Ukraine

        Anonymous

nah the Russians bombed indiscriminately civilians and jihadists alike. they basically went
        >aiming? what's that just point and shoot lmao
but let's not try to ignore the fact that the rebel movement was taken over by outright jihadists - they still control their little cuckshed in idlib protected by turkey - and fell into infighting between their various groups.
the moderate sunni rebels basically ceased to exist as a force beyond a small contingent at Al-Tanf and some who joined up with the SDF.

      >The Russian military especially lacks sufficient light infantry forces for many of the situations it has faced in Ukraine. Even with motorized rifle, airborne, or naval infantry units, armored vehicles are organic at all levels. Thus, entire platoons or companies, including NCOs and officers, cannot dismount as cohesive units because they have to man the vehicles in situations where light infantry units with a mobile unit in support might be preferable. Airborne battalions face the same problem. Indeed, the heavy losses sustained by airborne units near Kyiv in the Bucha, Irpin, and Hostomel areas may partially be a result of this lack of infantry. Russia is compensating for this infantry shortage in motorized rifle units by leaning heavily on its naval infantry, as well as separatist militia forces, which did most of the fighting in Mariupol. Arguably Russian naval infantry, a small component of its armed forces, has been the best performing element within the ground force, but they have also sustained heavy losses. Mobilized militia fighters from Donetsk and Luhansk were also deployed to regions beyond the Donbas, and Wagner private military contractors have reportedly played a critical role in the fighting. Indeed, it is fair to ask whether some Wagner detachments and separatist permanent readiness units are in fact more elite and capable than regular Russian motorized rifle units, at least when operating as a dismounted force.

I wouldn’t recommend you calling yourself sanity. You don’t want to be in a world of people like you.

                Why?

                Live forever.

Well then you’re going to have to support and be good to the “Nazis” etc and love true utopia for all and real progress and innovation etc.
                Because everyone wants that too!

What is the heart of those feelings?

Oh gee Canadian anime schizo. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that for the past 300 years, despite undergoing numerous revolutions and changes in administrative forms, the Russians have been disingenuous treaty breaking shitters and I'd much rather strive for a future where these people will no longer have the ability backstab us and will leave us alone by being reduced to a rump state around Moscow, leaving them completely politically neutered.

Aren’t you israeli? Weren’t they the ones that saved your people from the Holocaust?

                I’m
Sure this doesn’t actually have to do with Russia. You want a sense of control. Right?

                >Aren’t you israeli?
At what fricking point did I say I'm israeli? I'm a Georgian you mentally ill schizo.
                Giorgievski Traktat
                Moscow Treaty

That guy is a Chinese-Canadian who always makes weird collages and invades threads with his schizo babble. He is most active on PrepHole, but I've seen him from time to time on /misc/. He likely has legitimate mental illness.
