It looks cool and I liked using it in RE8.

it's litterally a MAS36 with a new barrel, chambered in .308, with a different stock and pistol grip.
it's great novelty for collector but outside of that it's mediocre and there's much better out there available on the market

Made everyone in NATO seethe so much they called it "not a military rifle" to exclude the French from using it in competitions. Because of the pencil barrel or something.

The action of the FRF1 and FRF2 is different and longer. The clones built from a MAS36 action were called FRG1 and FRG2.
      >outside of that it's mediocre
      LMAO
      >used to trust all the first place in NATO sniper competitions
      >mediocre
      You are mediocre.

Being longer doesn't make it not a MAS 36. Just like a magnum Mauser action is still a Mauser.

This sounds like some real frickin dumb fuddlore.

It's a completely different gun than the MAS36, with absolutely no part compatibility between the two save for a few screws. It has the same bolt design, but there is no interchangeability whatsoever.
There are however a ton of MAS36 that have been converted into FRF1 look alike, both for the air force and the civilian market.

      BASED FRF2 enjoyer.
0.67 moa at 100 yard with factory ammo from an old rifle that probably was used on four or five different theatres since the late 1980s is no joke.

He actually has the right scope (the new ones that just came in) but shipping one from france took forever

I need pictures of an American FRF2 with one of the newly made Scrome J8 and a honest review of this scope, even if it's technically obsolete by today's standards.

I'll ask my buddy about the scope and if I can take pictures.
Thanks, the bipod is fricking WEIRD to shoot from. Having the gun hang from the center of gravity feels freakishly unstable, but the return to natural point of aim was like a perfect swing. The last shot is a little off because I thought I had one hit and three misses so I moved my cheek weld to b***h to my buddy lmao. I couldn't see it was one tight 4 round group through that piece of shit vortex.
        >I like vortex, that scope was ass

Very nice. Thank you so much anon.

It has this reputation yes. I've met people who hated the pendulum bipod but learned to appreciate the good traverse capability.

And yet the group is this tight with such an old rifle. Hot damn.

Pic rel a Ukrainian operator with an FRF2 and a FELIN Thalès Sword FIL/FIR scope.
