With the way prices are going, depending on the year that's not that far out of whack. But it really isn't worth that much from a shooter perspective. Don't get me wrong, I love mine; but you can get some fantastic 9's for that kind of money. Unless you're a collector it doesn't warrant it.
thanks fren, what would you recommend for a high-end 9mm? down to spend like a grand for something accurate and nice to wiener and hold. I don't have big hands. the other one I was looking at was a beretta p96 (I think that's what it was called)
inflation has been 85% since 1997 but I suppose I get your point

even taking inflation into account stuff like berreta 92s or glocks are roughly the same price they were back then. slight increase but not as inflated as hipowes while being better guns.
Beretta 92 and 96 are better for people with large hands.
As far as all-metal 9mm pistols, the perennial favorites are the SIG P226, Beretta 92, and CZ75. Other good ones to consider are the S&W 5906, HK P7, Browning Hi Power, Bernardelli P018, Beretta 8000,
If you want a really nice semi auto pistol, as in nicer than most, you’ll be looking at guns like the Pardini GT9, Korriphila HSP, MAB PA-15, Delta Top Gun, or Wolf Ultramatic. These are really expensive and can almost only be exclusively found on the secondary market.
Yes. you can find them cheaper but if its cherry its worth it. also you can sometimes trip over a collectible that way, some of the, can go for stupid money

and frick this guy, they are great shooters and the epitome of a lifetime gun

if you're new to this and need to drop a wad, get a USP 9. or the Browning. I wouldn't call either one second best
You can get nice and cheaper Hi Power if you want a shooter. Tisas, Arcus, FM, FÉG all make clones that are good. Don't get tricked into buying a T series over a C series if you do buy a Hi Power. Getting a Hi Power on serial numbers is dumb and only if you want a safe queen you know you can sell to another moronic collector in the future.
By the way, the finish quality can vary quite a bit, early ramp types can struggle feeding certain bullets, and be sure to check the extractor if it doesn't eject well, I've had problems with both an internal and external.
Girsan is also making one that EAA is importing. Local shop has it for under $500. I have an FEG I got 200 and change a while back, but I am thinking about getting another. Either that or an RIA 1911.
I wouldn't pay that rate when you have much cheaper clones and surp models and a real BHP isn't all that great behind the trigger. But I know authenticity is worth a lot to some people so if you really want a cherry FN then go for it
That's a collector piece these days, not really a shooter. If you don't mind paying the price for the real deal gun, then sure, why not, but just know what you're doing. That gun won't be worth the 1350 after you start carrying it. I'd recommend getting a Springfield SA-35, Tisas Regent, or Girsan MC P35. These are all new production Hi-Powers with minor updates for things like new sights etc which help bring the Hi-Power into the 21st century. You can also buy surplus and used Hi-Powers for relatively cheaply on Gunbroker if you're willing to wait for the right gun.
You know what you're doing. Stop it. Don't buy this Gun OP, it's not a Hi-Power in any way. Frick Nu-FN.
Had a Hi Power, loved it. Sold it when unexpected bills raped my butthole and wallet. Miss that gun dearly. Ill buy another one once my finances stabilize completely. With all that said, there's no way in hell id pay over a grand for a used one when the Springfield SA35 is like $600 and the new ones from FN are around what he's asking for a used one.

What's intended use? Range toy? Carry? Competition? Prostate massage?
i want to shoot it for fun and have it if someone tries to kill me
i looked it up btw it's belgian made 1997
In 1997 that gun was worth a third of that brand new.

What you would recommend for the latter?
Asking for a friend.

No, $900 max
this is the exact one
if it's a mk iii, it should be plenty durable. far more than i and ii.

Girsans are great and 100% original on all new factory tooling, get one now before the factory tooling wears out in a few years.
I have a beat up 1980s Israeli police surplus hi power. Shoots as well my dad's g19.
You really have to try to make a hi power do badly.

Absolutely fricking not. He's selling it to buy the new production version FN just released. I'd say go with a brand spanking new updated one.
