Brand new Chinese UAV dropped.

Brand new Chinese UAV dropped. This is a ultra heavy suicide UAV, can carry up to 5 tons of HE and ram into high value static hardened targets like bridges, power plants, bunkers etc. Cheaper then a cruise missile too at around half a million dollars.

What's the use case for this? attacking hardened locations that lack such defenses as a mk1 eyeball and HMG? Seems like the only use they'd get out of it would be against Russia's vast wilderness but any logistics out there is going to be stuff they want to keep for themselves anyway.

Chinese are moronic. They saw drones hitting powerplants and oil refineries and assumed if they make bigger drones then they will be able to hit hardened targets

I was exaggerating for effect, but ICBMs traditionally travel at hypervelocity speeds in the first place; the upper limit for nuclear launch warning in the USA from the most probable adversary is about 1 hour, so you're looking at warheads attached to a delivery system traveling about 8,000 miles in an hour, a speed you most assuredly will not attain with a fat-bodied autonomous P-38 Lightning carrying 5 tons of explosive.

Actually I just went and checked, a Minuteman III missile travels at a whopping 17,500 MPH, Mach 23.

So it's just a human-controlled Cruise missile? Or is that even the right term considering its propeller-driven? What's the point of it? It seems like it could be shot out of the sky by AAA or SPAA. Not much of a threat in contested airspace only when you dominate the airspace would this be viable. What a waste of a thread Anon. Stop shilling for the Chinese you communist frick.

Tbh this is just a bigger version of those A-22s that Ukies converted into suicide drones, seems like it would be pretty effective against countries that use Russian AA and that includes India, Vietnam, and Myanmar.

The Rader signature of that thing is huge, it could easily be stopped just like the Ukrainian drones if Russia had the equipment and knowledge:

The math of these explains perfectly why the west is going all in on lasers; a battery of six fires about $50,000 before thhe belts run out.

          >Mesbah 1
Hm, i wonder if the Ukrainians can make something like this?

It's 4 ZU-2-23s bolted together, i think Ukraine already has that in motorized radar guided form. They already use ZU-2-23s to shoot shaeds.

Ukraine also has 2 batteries of KS-19s that they use as artillery, i assume they scrapped the FCS and radar long ago as they would be great for this sort of work but don't use theem as AAA.

BS this thing looks like a cargo-carrying aircraft with the hefty landing gear and cargo door. Might be an affordable, low-maintenance/ cost way to ferry supplies around their island bases. Maybe you could even operate it from calm waters.
