      I guess I was wrong.

If both the Greeks and the Turks gave all their tanks to Ukraine it would make the whole region safer

      https://i.imgur.com/iC6YInI.jpg

The Germans have a bunch of tanks sitting in storage for the expressed purpose of trying to move them to someone else. The Greeks are actively using their tanks for a hypothetical war with Turkey and the Turks are using theirs for a real war with Syria and hypothetical wars in their near abroad.

KMW said months ago they could have a brigade sized force ready in ~8 weeks. If Sholz was really so concerned with the price he could put up the 1,000 plus Leopard 1s KMW also has in storage.

The demand for the US to send tanks is so fricking nonsensical as to be ridiculous when the US is clearly sending frick loads of other high end weapons.

Export licenses prevent German made equipment being provided to Ukraine without Germany giving permission first, regardless of what country actually owns the tanks. At the start of the war multiple countries wanted to provide various bits of equipment and were not given permission, for instance Estonia was initially prevented from providing howitzers. Breaking such export licenses could have significant impact on a countries relationship with Germany going forward. As Germany is the economic heart of the EU Poland et Al would ideally want to do things by the book. However patience is running out so I wouldn't be too surprised if Poland decides to break that contract and provide them anyway.

It's not nonsensical at all, the US is the only nation that can send large numbers of modern MBTs for the long term.
Germany has 100 tanks in storage, the US has almost 4000.
In GPD terms German and US aid is similar at this point.

This isn't true. Yes there are more Abram's than Leo 2's, but there is a much more logistical support in Europe for the Leo 2. Meaning they would be much easier to sustain than the Abram. Ukraine thinks it needs 300 MBTs to successfully push Russia out, which represents 15% of Leo2's produced. It is realistically possible for that number of tanks to be provided by a coalition of NATO countries.

Nobody has asked Germany for export licenses for Leopard tanks.

Greeks need them because turkey threatens to invade Greece once a month.

Turkeys leopards are pretty old, and needs new engines (which they are not able to source at the moment because nobody likes turkey).

Germany has more leopards than the ones in active storage.

Germany barely keeps their active duty equipment in working condition. Half their active duty planes don't fly. I don't wanna know in what shape "active storage" is

It’s a mix. There are older 2a6 models in active service alongside the 2a7v. The 7s are mint, the 6s should be in fine condition.

However, it’s the stock of 2a4 and 2a6 that isn’t in storage that could be interesting for Ukraine (or, more realistically, ones from other countries). I would wager that those number something north of 200 - in various conditions and variants.

Macron and by extension France has implied that, not Germany. After half a decade of the shitstorm that was the American mismanagement of foreign relations, people projected their wishes onto the Germans - they themselves didn't.

turks already sent tb2s tbh, they can claim that they've done their part. people can't exactly seethe at them without looking like ungrateful entitled whiny b***hes (atleast for the time being)

Actually, Turkey has been the second biggest supplier of Ukrainian forces before the war.

Turkey was providing MRAPS, artillery, ammunition, communication systems, and tons of ballistic protection equipment to Ukraine way before Germany failed to send 5000 helmets...

By the way, when will people see that the actual enemy is not Russia but Germany?

They're sending BMP's because the Germans were giving them Marders in exchange.
Greece barely sent anything which is pretty weird considering how Ukraine has a significant Greek minority that got fricked over by the Russian invasion.

Why do Turks and Greeks pretend to hate each other? Behind closed doors they literally have gay sex with each. Also Greeks are the largest cosoooomers of Turkish dramas and movies and a lot of Turks are obsessed with Hellenism

Turks and Greeks are the same thing, Byzantines. They hate each other because the religious and linguistic difference are basically a marker about whether you're more loyal to the caliph or the emperor.
if you ask them, they'll deny it because most of them are completely unaware of this.

Turkish leopards are busy getting ATGMd by gigachad Kurds.

Greek leopards are busy training to storm across Eastern Thrace and liberate Constantinople.
