Wrong, frickwit. I just like posting relevant pictures. Australia went through the 25-30/35mm decision process for the ASLAV replacement.
Bradley 25mm is being replaced with 50mm. Choke on that.

don't care, still a death trap. the CF remains without a real IFV to plug the gap between armour and the LAV (as in LIGHT armoured Vehicle), which has no real defence against anything bigger than a DshK.
Expecting this thing to survive battle against a peer or near peer opponent is dumb, and the LAV fleet was shreded from combat in Afghanistan with a 1/3rd of them damaged or destroyed against the fricking Taliban of all people - hence the need to upgrade from the LAV III to LAV 6.0.
I pity CF infantry that will expected to roll into battle in this.

LAV fleet numbers are about 1200 LAVs.
13 destroyed in battle, 159 damaged by direct fire (of which over 3 dozen were damaged beyond repair). Another ~200 written off from wear and tear. That’s 31% shit dick. We lost 1/3 of the fleet fricking around in Kandahar.
It’s a bad vehicle for the job it’s given, and there’s a reason the shit for brains generals screeched for Leopard II’s as the fighting got worse, ultimately cancelling the plan to transition from leopard I’s to 105mm equipped LAVs. The CF needs a real IFV and that’s not happening any time soon.

          Anonymous

"Wear and tear" is supposed to be repairable and is if you have spare parts. When a vehicle is written off for needing work that indicates it's simply not wanted. Overhauling armored vehicles is not difficult, but is expensive which is different.

MIC designs are so hopelessly behind the times. This thing looks like its job is to be “affordable” (for the manufacturer) period. But it’s not like Canada is going to war with anyone unless it’s to tag along with the US so who honestly cares?
