i cant take my gun into work with me moron

your only option is to not keep a gun in your car. Having a safe under your seat is fricking moronic, because in the event you need a gun while in the car, guess where it is? Not in your hand. Nope it's under your seat, locked away. If you insist on having a gun in the car, it should be on your person, or in a car holster and should be moved to your person when leaving the car. The gun should always be in your reach, or it might as well be in the safe unloaded at home. There is no reason to leave a gun in a car. If you're going somewhere they're not allowed, then you should know this beforehand and either leave it at home or flout the rules and keep it on you anyways.

lot of words man didnt read your whole post sorry but like i said i cant take my gun into work with me but i often do things after i get off and would prefer to have my gun on me since i get off late at night

If its a secure facility your parking lot is likely secure to shut up

NTA, there is plenty ty of secure facilities that don't let you park on campus, or the parking lot is not secured either. I work at a shipyard, like only 1/5 of employees can park on campus.

I once left an empty Ruger box in my car and went off for an hour.
When I came back my car had been smashed and ransacked. It was on my person and nothing of value was in the car but the lesson is clear: if they learn you’re carrying something desirable like a gun they will stop at nothing to burglarize

left the box in view? what did you expect was going to happen?

It was for an hour in a place with good security.
And they did catch the burglar. Still goes to show if they think you have it they will do anything to take. So it has to be concealed

In my state you can’t take it into a hospital and it’s a crime to try (and they have detectors. So if you work there no choice but to leave in car

breaking into a car is like a lootbox. they have no fricking clue what you have in there, they'll break in anyway. could be clothes from walmart. could be $8000 in cash some dumbass tourist brought with them plus a ton of gucci and versace namebrand shit.

mfw reading some of the car break in reports and the property lost

This is a reasonable question and I don't really understand why you're being shit on for asking it.
That being said, your seat is probably removable with a minimum of hand tools, or potentially just by hand depending on your make and model. Bolt the safe to your floorboard.

I had a mate 3d print a false bottom for the center console. Even if someone breaks in and opens the center console all they're gonna see is some loose change and breath mints.

You could do the same by printing a plastic moulding and using some magnets to attach to the steering column.

Whatever option you choose, make sure don't let people see you putting the gun into the safe, especially if it's something you'll be doing every morning before walking into work and leaving the car in a parking lot for 8 hours.
Even if they don't manage to pry the floor safe open you'll still have to deal with the broken window from their attempt.

Don't park your car places it will get broken into.
So, preferably, a secure garage with some kind of access control or a lock, or an employee only gate/access system, for example, in a corporate parking garage. Or your mom's garage or whatever.

Any other option is at best simply mitigating the odds that a burglar takes your gun, IE, hiding it. Using a safe under the seat with a steel cable is great for preventing theft, but not really a realistic staging for defensive use. You will not be able to open the safe nearly as fast as simply drawing from AIWB, and frankly, this option is basically relegated to something like a gun you fight your way back to rather than a gun you really "have".

The LARP answer to your question is some kind of permanently affixed kydex holster somewhere in the steering column area, and just sort of hoping they don't notice it I guess. (If you go this route, for whatever reason, Level 1 retention makes sense to avoid it coming loose during a collision IMO.)

Most ghetto but most realistic is if your car has the right kind of glovebox you can have a loaded handgun simply loose in that b***h. It's quite probably going to get stolen if the car is broken into, but then we're back to the access problem. IDK, lock the glovebox and hope for the best.

Finally. If at all possible, never leave your gun unattended for any longer than needed, and especially don't leave your gun out in your car overnight while it's in an unsecure location if you can at all help it. I can see an argument for having a safe under your seat if that's what you have to do for whatever reason, but it's not a good argument, and it's still bad practice.

    >best way of keeping your gun safe in your car
Obscurity, dont have pro gun stickers, dont have goa/fpc/nra signs

    Dont park in bad neighborhoods
    Dont go where black go
    Avoid blacks

Whats the point of a gun in a safe, you cant get it fast. In an accident youll likely leave it, and or it will be impossible to get too.

    Obscurity is key

The only time I don’t have my gun on me is when I’m at the gym. I could leave it in my gym bag but it’s probably more likely to get stolen in the gym than in my car where it’s locked in a glovebox in broad daylight in a parking lot of a busy area.
I always have it on me at work too. Idk what you do but unless you work in a government building you should just bring it anyway and stop being a b***h

“Truck gun” morons should be charged if their firearm is stolen and used in a crime. If you can’t take it into work either stop being a b***h and just do it or leave it at home. I’ve sold probably a hundred replacement guns to morons like you, and all I can think about is how many felon Black folk are running around with guns thanks to people like you.

I used to sneak my pistol onto a navy base in my f250 behind a fuze panel door right above my knees. Maybe your car has a trim piece/panel that is quick to access.

I don’t either, I live in a 90% white town where the average household income is more than 6 figures. That doesn’t stop Black folk from coming over here and car hopping, jugging or stealing catalytic converters.
