Best red dot for a P320

I just DROS'd an M18 - I am doing the Wilson Combat frame, and am shopping red dots.

thanks for your recommendations

Romeo M17. But it costs $800. For people who aren't retarded, the Eotech Eflx.

is it even possible to mount an M17 on the M18 320?

Only if it has the specific M17 MHS footprint, it’s unique and not the DPP footprint like the others

M17 optic doesn't actually fit the commercial M17/M18, you can either go with

Sig Romeo X Pro (the DPP footprint one) is probably one of the better optics on the market right now, shame that it’s on the DPP footprint but it sort of has to be to fit the top load battery

, which is the closest thing, or go with the EoKek. I'd probably just get the EoKek if you aren't trying to keep it close to the military gun.

Holosun SCS 320 is made specifically for the P320. DPP footprint so it doesn't need an adapter plate. It's battery-less, so expect to replace the whole optic in 5 - 7 years.

It's true. Internal battery, and Holosun says it'll last 5 - 7 years with regular use, at which point you can send it back to the factory and they'll replace the battery for free. Or, more realistically, in 5 - 7 years there will be some other optic you'll want and just replace the whole thing. It's only $400 so it's not like a huge investment.

That thing is the same price as the Eflx which is just an rmr clone. Why the fuck would you buy the SCS over that?

              >disposable optic
non replaceable battery is a meme.
              >Closed emitter
Enclosed emitters are the meta today but I never heard anyone make a deal out of it until magically holosun released the EPS, an enclosed optic the poors could afford. And now you have to buy enclosed. Funny. For some reason when the only enclosed optics on the market were out of reach of hype chasers nobody made a big deal about it. Even the people who bought the mailbox and had reason to didn't become enclosed evangelists.
              >Eflx has a reputation for losing zero
              Says who?

You know how it works? A fucking panel charges it every single time you take it outside

It lasts for 5 years on a charge but it also charges every day. So it's going to last until you break it or drop it in a river

Lithium batteries go bad in about 3-5 years depending on use and charge cycles. It last 5 years because the battery goes bad around then. Your mileage may vary. But you probably wont get much longer.

I don't have a hard on for the Eflx. DPP is pretty much a dead mount. Sig decided to use it for some stupid reason. The DPP itself isn't very good. The SCS is silly and the Romeo M17 is priced so only agencies will buy it. That leaves the Eflx as the only reasonable option. Eotech made a strategic decision to make the Eflx for that mount because they know all of that and it would be easy sales for anyone issued an M18 or M17 and didn't want the DPP. Would have been better if Sig had just made it use the RMR footprint but they didn't. So here we are.
                >Feel free to Google "eflx losing zero" and see for yourself.
I did and saw one reddit post and some random podcast. Didn't see anyone I recognized or reputable talking about it nor did I see any firearms news sites with articles about it. So I ask again. Who? Is it just some randos on forums? Every product will have lemons. It happens with mass production. I only consider something a common problem if it gets common enough to get news articles in industry publications. I also wonder how much is the fault of Sig. The M17/18 has a notoriously bad mount. I haven't seen it myself but I have read about optics flying off.

Not a problem with the optic. Guy admits he installed it wrong, fixed it and its fine.

No issues. The only negative I see is mention of the Sage dynamics gram post you put below. Otherwise its getting good reviews in the thread.
Talk about how the different available optics are smaller than the slide cut. I didn't see mention of issues with holding zero. As I said before, the M18/17 factory cut does have an iffy reputation. So the worry isn't unwarranted.

Ok this is the best and really only worthwhile one listed. Sage Dynamics is legit. Without seeing more beyond that I'd chalk it up to a combination of his tests are actually brutal and he did it early on and it wouldn't surprise me if the first examples had problems. I'm not claiming its perfect. I think its fairly mid all things considered. But for optics on the market with the DPP footprint I think its the most sensible.

None of that has any bearing on what was said. SCS is still a retarded optic. And the Eflx doesn't have a common issue with losing zero. I wrote that because Anon was wrong.

Rechargeable batteries don't last forever. Holosun has confirmed that at some point the battery will crap out and need to be replaced.

Where exactly do you think that solar energy is going, my beloved retard?
Straight into a lithium battery which we all know are renowned for their longevity

Nothing lasts forever. Including the need to change your own batteries on a red dot.
If aimpoint wasn't a decaying zombie kept around by contracts and hype generated in 1999, they could really nail the solar charge optic
