Best overall AR-15 for self-defense/bugaloo larping?

I don't care if it's $500 or $1500 (no more) or if I buy it or assemble it myself. I just want the best quality gun I can get that isn't a poor value. All I know is I want a cold hammer forged barrel.

full auto not needed, even when room clearing.
Get a good LPVO like a Vortex, and cant an aimpoint T2 on the side of it. Get an 11.5 if you know that without doubt you're getting a can. Reptilia makes the best pistol grips right now, bar none.

DDM4V7. Jack of all Trades, best barrel you can get.

I can only go by my experience but here's my recommendations by price range
        >High end- Larue
        >Mid-high- BCM
        >Mid tier- Spikes/M&p/Ruger 5.56
        >Inexpensive- PSA/Stag arms

These will all probably be just fine (any company can have a rifle that missed QC) but depending on how much you spend you get a nicer feel, customer support, and higher resale value. If those things even matter to you. For me personally I like a super accurate larue precision gun for my nice gun, and a PSA/Anderson gun for being a beater (it feels good to have a gun you WANT to kill, opposite feeling of a safe queen) and also a little mid range KE arms pistol. I'd recommend nice triggers as some said larue has an awesome one and I'd shell out for a good quality bolt. Also don't forget to order a pack of gas rings for a rainy day! Gl

Find a good deal on a DDM4V7 upper, literally better than BCM and just as good as Larue. If not a better barrel without doubt. Half the fricking price if you find a sale.

Then just get an anderson no horse lower if you really want to be based and piss off all of the gucci 15 y/os who dont actually shoot.

Boom, pretty much just got a "larue" tier without paying $3000 for the name.

Though, i'd only go a barrel length lower than 14.5 if the rifle was chambered in 300BLK, but then i'd consider that a specialist rifle and not an all round fighting rifle.

Idk my ruger is broken in and it still is pretty stiff compared to a 2 stage

            Anonymous

2 stage was created to meet military reqs in trigger weight by dividing the weight into two stages.
Ultimately, it's not that useful other than precision shooting.
Anything else? There are Alot of quality, very crisp, more crisp than any 2S, single stages out there.

With the profit margins Glock makes on those fricking things, they ought to have good triggers, and metal sights by now. Is they cost the 250 dollars they're actually worth, I wouldn't care about plastic sights.

    >Home defense
Anything that isn't trash likely to break with a shorter barrel. Any extra money spent on a gun is money you could spend on motion detectors, door/window alarms, sturdy doors, and security locks, each of which will improve safety better than having a slightly better firearm.

    >Boog-LARP
Most expensive weapon you can find. An AR for every barrel length. Cover it in tacticool shit. Remember to save money for night vision goggles and level 4 armor for your walks through downtown with a friendly police escort.

Remember, don't do PT! People will think you are a Fed if you have a normal BMI and can run a mile in your gear. It helps to be at least 55 since that's the medium age in these groups.

Remember to work on your speech you'll give when you tell everyone they are heroic, brave patriots for risking going out. You have to address them like a spontaneous crowd of demonstrators even though the event took place in a metro if 2 million people, drew 120 demonstrators, who came from all over the country, as was planned months in advance and advertised on Boomerbook with zero real fear of the government doing a thing about it except assigning cops overtime to direct traffic so you can cross the street safely.

lower doesn't matter, upper doesn't matter. BCG get one from a reputable manufacturer that's either Nitrided, DLC'd, Hard Chromed, TiN'd or TiCN'd. Barrel, get either a BA Hansen, a Faxon Gunner, or a BCM ELW, 16" in .223 wylde or 5.56 NATO (doesn't really matter). LPVO, get an LPVO in your price range, spend no less than $250 on it. Furniture doesn't really matter. Trigger, get a Larue MBT-2S or a Rise Armament RA-242 if you want a single stage. Hiperfire eclipse is also comfy. If you want to go full gucci mode, get a triggertech diamond or an AR-Gold. The best standalone muzzle device is a Strike Industries J Comp V2 (unironically strikeshit BTFO's everyone else in this category). This is not true if you want to run a can. If you want to run a can, just pick the QD muzzle device of your choosing.

I’ll get a lot of shit for this but M&P Sport II is a good choice if this is your first AR and you don’t have enough experience to care about the price or parts or whatever. It’s the rifle most first owners buy for a reason: it’s good quality for a super low price and while it’s not Gucci tier it has the quality in the right places to make it last a lifetime and more for most shooters. Most shooters will just bring it to the range maybe once a year and have it handy for home defense, not actually ruck it through miles of dirt and shoot it full auto without cleaning for months as if it were a military issued rifle. I’ve had a few friends buy it and it’s great for what it is. If you wanna buy a Gucci rifle go ahead, but it seems like for what you wanna use it for it’d be a lot of extra money for no real benefit.

10inch barrel length for 5.56 since it would be good enough for close-mid range, but if you want a REAL rifle, you get a 7.62 one.

If you absolutely need ambi there are some good ones out there but you’re going to pay a lot more. This will get you a rifle that’ll last a lifetime for sub 1500 dollars. Get the muzzle device pinned and welded to stay compliant. Quad rail is best for longevity and durability.

S&W and Ruger ARs aren't mid-tier. Their shit can be had for under $600. Also, I've looked at Stags and their cheapest ARs are around $700, then go up to around $1000.

If it's your first AR, or you're a new shooter then unironically get a MP15 or PSA. As with any hobby buying better equipment isn't going to make you better at using it and the reality is anything north of an Aero Precision and the limiting factor is going to be the shooter, not the gun. Your money and effort are better spent on ammo and training.
