Best cleaning method

Hi /k/ just cleaned my pistols using the light setting on my dishwasher what setting do you guys use. I use plenty napkins and spray them with WD-40 afterwards. They come out kinda dull so I polish them with some pledge and they come out smelling fresh to! How do you clean your guns after a day of shootings?

That'll work fine. Just be careful of any wooden grips like your pic - wood shouldn't go in the dishwasher - the heat and water /humidity will frick up the wood

I wipe them when they're too dirty.

if you want them really clean you can let them sit in a container of gasoline over night. the fouling will seep out of every crevice. apply a coat of oil right after or it will rust.

I do that too but I heat up the metal parts with a torch, get them nice and hot to let the pores expand and then immediately put it in a gasoline bath. Works every time.

Bore brush, tooth picks, old tooth brush and some oil. Soap and water bowl if it's a deep clean. alcohol swaps for the bore brush, then a very light oiling run through it, and a dry swap after it to remove excess.

Just shoot more. The blast from each round blows out the crud from the previous round. Gun cleaning is a grift invented by oil companies to rob gun owners.

      >cleaning the bore is
You still need to clean the action, and the outside if it's blued or whatever.

I detail strip them and cover them in peanut butter, and then just leave them out for my white girlfriend's dog to find them.

Pic related full of mineral spirits will go through cosmoline and carbon while leaving bluing, paint, and nitriding unscathed.

From the parts cleaner, straight into the sandblaster with the biggest blasting medium you can get your hands on. Use an airhose to blow off any remaining medium, dunk it into a barrel of 10w-30, call it a day.

Pretty much this + one extra step: because the sandblaster can't get the inside of the barrel, you should heat it up from time to time to melt the lead residue out.

Just get a propane torch and heat it up until its red and the lead residue will poor right out. Then a quick quench in cold water and you're good to go.

Polyethylene terephthalate, the main offender, is 30% denser than blood, so it can be centrifuged out. Microplastics in general are typically hundreds or thousands of microns in diameter (though they can admittedly be as small as a single micron), whereas red blood cells are about seven microns in diameter. You can buy lab grade 10 and 50 micron cellulose filters for about thirty bucks, thereby removing the great majority of plastic in your blood. Don’t forget, the US Cycling team gave themselves nightly infusions of their own blood to great effect, and they did so in hotel rooms with no fancy equipment and no training.

Do with this information what you will.

The other day after cleaning a bunch of guns with Hoppes I went to my girlfriend's place and she asked me why I smell like old people. She still let me smash though. I guess the old fudds were right after all, it's like cologne.

There’s a stream in my back yard. I throw them in there for about 48 hours to loosen up all the grime. Then I take them out and put them in a pot of vegetable oil for 4 days.

They come out looking better than they came from the factory.
